Deciding when Fantaseeds Afghan is ready to harvest

I have an Fantaseed Afghan plant that I, for the life of me, cannot tell when it is ready. I harvested one last grow and it was not ready by a lot. I usually use colour of trichomes as a guide, but this strain has almost no trichomes on the flowers. Anyone know how to tell it's ready (no generalized answers please). HELP!

No trichs??? U might want to run your lights on a 12 hours on 12 hours off cycle. Those fan leaves must taste like ass

Would just chop around 9 weeks if your unsure, doubtful any Afghani is gonna be later than that.

The plants are in flower, which means they are already in a 12-12 cycle.

Imo 7 weeks is where its at with afgani genetics, my la affie is stellar at 35 days to 42, after that its lackluster.

I know most of you r like bs 6 weeks, not even, start of 6 is harvest window. Thats 35 days, not from trichs, from chopping my plant at different times and sampling. 35 days gives a killer head high then major body buzz relaxation.

35 to 40 day turnaround, find the purple pheno in secret sour.

interesting on the 35 early weed being better to yer liking, i like earlier chopped weed also, as long as theres some trichs ya can get a buzz. some plants suck earlier some are better earlier than later. ya just have to sample each and every pheno to find what works for ya dome !

I have let it go and now the individual flowers have formed and are beginning to swell. Some leave stems have turned purple. Ready in 3-4 days?

Just to finish this up: One plant decided to pop a male bud. Had to take whole crop. Afghan flowers had turned brown and she had a "coffee smell". She is still drying. We'll see. Thanks!

Most females will produce single male pollen sacks aka "naners" late in flowering.

When you see them its usually a good indicator that the plant is close to harvest.

Last word on this strain: It ain't worth it! It is strong but smells like Mexican Ordinary. Oh well. This round I am trying Atomic Northern Lights and Hash Plant.

Some truth to what you say alright. I took a sample nug from my day 46 12/12 LA Choc .v The high was one of the cleanest head highs ever for me. Now, go forward 7 days and took another small sample bud. The high this time is less head and the body is coming more into the picture. I have another 2 weeks or so before she is done . Some of the lower buds will be couch lock by that time. Then again the top cola should be just about reaching maturation.
