Greetings everyone. I've been doing a lot of reading around here and have decided to employ a collective of techniques I've learned so far. Just gotta say you guys rock!

Alright here are the grow specs.

*4x4x6.5 grow tent
*600w Ushio Optired HPS
*Phresh 6x16 carbon filter
*6" Active air Inline Fan
*(2) 8" Passive intake vents with panty hose
*Honeywell fan(Cools the vert lamp)
*(6) 3.5 gal buckets w/ hole drilled 2" above the bottom
*Medium: Coco Coir/Perlite
*Nutrients: GH Micro and Bloom

Pretty standard stuff.

The things I'm doing this run will be VERY different from what I've done before. This will be my second Vertical run(Thanks Marlo, Aerohead, etc.). I will be using Coco Hempy buckets(Thanks Dalaihempy) and I will be using 6ml GH Micro, 9ml GH Bloom per gallon(Thanks H3ad). I have used coco in soil mixes and such but I have never grown straight hydro before. This will be a first. Another tid bit of info that helped me was bracing the walls of my tent by installing bamboo steaks as support so the walls don't cave in from negative pressure(Thanks Alien Dawg). It's not that the tent was going to collapse but I want as much space in that 4x4 as possible.

Blueberry x Haze is the strain for this vert run. I'm not really sure if it's different from Bluedream or not. I acquired them as cuttings in rockwool. Then I put them into 16oz solo cups of coco for slightly over a week under t5's and gave them half strength 6/9 every day until day 7. Then I just gave them full strength. I just transplanted them into the 3.5gal Coco Hempy's today and placed them into the 4x4. I can't wait to see how this run turns out.

Week 2 Veg

Alright everything is pretty much the same except for a much needed addition. I finally got around to installing a drip irrigation system. Here's what I bought.

50ft 1/2" drip line
50ft 1/4" drip line
50ft 1/4" Soaker drip line(It's like a mini Soaker Hose)
(50) 1/4" tee barb
(10) 1/4" straight barb
(1) Drip line puncher w/ goofy plugs
(1) 1/2" tee barb
(1) 211gph submersible aquarium pump

Cost: ~$60(The pump cost me $30 at a pet store. I could have probably got it for half that at the hydro store). Mind you I have a lot of extra tubing and barbs for future ventures.

I made a circle out a small portion of 1/2" drip line and connected it together with the 1/2" Tee barb. Then I punched 6 holes in the 1/2" drip line using the punch tool. I installed the 1/4 Barbs. I cut 1/4" drip line in lengths according to where the plant is located. I then made equally sized drip rings out of the 1/4" soaker drip line and connected each one with 1/4" tee barbs. I then attached those to the 1/4" drip line connected to the 1/2" drip line manifold. Merely cut an appropriate size of 1/2" drip line that will reach your pump and connect it to the open 1/2" tee. Wallah it works pretty damn well for a super noob at drip systems. Ah ya i forgot to say I duck taped the 1/4" lines to the buckets so the rings don't move around as I didn't want to stake them. Now I just gotta hook up with a timer or something.

Week 3 Veg Update

Last week was the introduction of one of my drip system ideas. In the end it didn't really water fast enough for my needs. So I opted to use 2gph Pressure compensated drippers instead of relying on a ring of soaker hose. I merely cut the circle in half and stuck the drippers in the open ends with some stakes to hold them. So far they seem to be doing a good job although I have heard of them clogging up on some people. We shall see.

Just using 6/9 in my super small 5gal rez. 210gph submersible aquarium pump and a cheap air pump with a flexible air stone. pH is at a stable 5.8. All is well.

I just set up some bamboo stakes and have started tying the the plants back towards the walls with twist ties. After they fill out I will flip them. I just gotta get rid of any gaps in the doughnut.
