Figures, I needed an answer yesterday and nothing. Come on ICmag where were ya's? LOL , it's all good even though I didn't really find an answer in any threads I found something in an old HT that basicly said what I thought. Let it sit for about an hour to get to room temp.

Now that being said I'm not to confident in my success. When I opened up one of the foil packs after thawing it wasn't what I was expecting.It looked kind of hard and stuck to the foil.
I used my finger to apply and it felt sort of pasty, and was very yellow.

So I guess we'll see if it takes, or if someone would chime in to help me I could try again.

All the hairs where you touched should turn color like at the end of flower. They almost look burnt sometimes. Within a few days to a week you'll start seeing the beans forming

oh exciting times ...................... i prefer using a clean finger when pollinating, well unless i had a massive plant to impregnate would take all day i believe you waste less , than say doing it with a little brush

Is it supposed to be pasty like that when thawed? I was worried that maybe it wasn't dried out enough when I froze it.

Can't help ya there have never froze any. It does make me think inviable pollen though. Paste to me means powder+water. Pollen= powder. To the best of my recollection water drastically reduces the viability of pollen.

JB never caught on like BD because the nevilles haze used to make it did not come from shanti / mr. nice...it was explained to me as a knock off from GH seeds....way after shanti left with the original NL5 and the haze male A and C that make the true nevilles haze...peace...elk...

That's exactly what I was thinking. So I think we'll keep an eye on it for a few days and if it don't take I have plenty more packs of pollen from two diff. males to try again.
I'm really in no rush to get these seeds made , so I can keep trying

I'll be happy if this experience helps someone else in the future who would happen to read this or have it come up in a search. It's great to have all the info and good peeps helping each other out.

I know I mentioned BD in my original post, but now after growing out and smoking JB I think they are in a different league. JB being sooo much of a better high and strain in general. So hopefully I can get these f2's made for my future.

from what i remember red posted he selected the most lemon nevilles haze and dusted with blueberry pollen.

i also think i remember red saying he got the neville haze seeds from neville himself circa 2000

also... JB crossed with something like sams skunkhaze would be very close to BD lineage just in vastly different % and actually closer to parentals

I would say Red did a great job on them.
It's funny you mention crossing with sams skunk haze. I still got a freebie pack of sams mixed seeds x haze/skunk in the fridge that I never touched yet.

I snapped some pics of the other three when I was in last night. I was a little worried that I put them into flower to early without enough veg, but as you can see they are really filling in. They must have tripled in height already.

Ganja Maker, Wow! Great thread! I have from 3 packs of Johnny Blaze..3 real nice plants myself right now..out in full California sunshine! Two of the plants are the green pheno..a big male..looking as crazy as he can get! and a green female..looking tiny compared to him! Then the other female is full on purple and not flowering yet..any of them! They are showing pre-flowers..but that is it! The purple girl..looks OPT ..Oregon Purple Thai as she could get! I will be useing them to make seeds! I will be following along in your thread! Enjoy! monkey5

i got some labels mixed up but i do have some JB x ThaiHazeSkunk, have not sprouted them.... am booked up till next winter even and would really rather have a green house to sprout them in

Sorry to say your pollen didn't look too viable. I've made the same mistake not storing pollen properly.
You want to store it in plastic vials w/ indicating desiccant, then you'll be golden.

Ganja Maker, My camera does not do the Purple justice at all..but I have a friend who is supposed to be coming to take real pictures! I will see if I can get a post up here! I am loving the smells! Hey monkey5, I wouldn't say that mine gives me any noids, but it does bring an awareness feeling with a big smile that lasts forever. So I guess you could say it might lean towards a sativa BB. I don't have access to many strains, so may not be able to give a fair comparison.

I was sort of thinking that mine were looking a bit droopy this round also. I think it might have something to do with the blumats.

I haven't given up on it yet . I am starting to see a bit of browning on a few spots on the stigmas. I believe there should be a lot more considering what I touched though. So maybe there was a little viable pollen in there.
It's bin two days past so I opened up another pack and tried on another branch.
This pack didn't look so spattered. Gonna keep my fingers crossed and be on the lookout.

Ganja Maker, Yeah..the droopy ness I see in my purple Johnny Blaze..is not at all in my green phenos..just this purple pheno has the droop i have seen from Viet. Black..that kind of droop! Looks wilted..but after watering it still looks that way! Lol..monkey5

It was rough getting these pics in the dark, but it looks like we're pregnant.I have no idea how many seeds this would produce, but you can see some of the color change.
I did this branch and one other, plus I think a few surrounding buds might have caught some stray pollen.
