Seasonal product change at Home Stores and Wal-Mart

Well it's that time of year again.
Around here, the big home stores and wal-mart are preparing to take summer products off the shelf and replace them with winter products.

Fans are replaced with space heaters, garden supplies thin dramatically, selection on dehumidifiers and air conditioners is left to remaining stock.

Battery operated siphon pumps used for transferring kerosene to heaters will soon be available again. They are the bomb for draining a res.

The best part is that they mark down the summer stuff now.
Picked up a couple recirc fans for >30% off as backups in case my current ones crap out. There will be hardly any on the shelves by the end of Sept.
I didn't look at the portable and window AC units but I am sure there are bargains out there now.

I guess I am posting this as a reminder for the vets and a heads-up for the newbies.
Understand the cycle and use it to your advantage.

Cheers!

Around here Walmart always runs out of totes, contractors and vac bags this times of year. Always having friends dropping by being like "yo man can you hook me up with a few totes?"

:pimp3:

Had to clean the store down the street from my house out of 18" Oscillating stand fans :tumbleweed:, hope they still have a small A/C, veg needs some added cooling.

Plus side, finally got a mini fridge for the warehouse.

Just got home from walgreens, they had a couple compressed blocks of coco on sale for 69 cents each. Needless to say, that location doesn't have any more in stock, and I will be looking at other spot for more of it.

I don't know if it help's but it was burpie brand(sold as seed starter, so it can't be to harsh). Haven't given it a go yet, but once I get everything settled back down I will report back on it(tds and ph of run off after first rinse). If it is on sale now that means they must carry it in the summer, and that would be handy as hell(for some, I currently use rockwool and grow rocks, but I can't buy it at walgreen's-yet).

If you're hoping to buy a plastic kiddie wading pool you'd better hurry. This is the time of year the remaining stock goes on sale then disappears.

Lowes has some of their pond pumps on sale, and they had a small pile of window ac units in the garden section on discount. The ac units were still a little on the steep side for me, but I have seen a couple really good portable ones on craigslist for relatively cheap(just make sure that the thing works before handing over any money).
