Detailed Description:

Far Out is a quality Columbian Haze-Blueberry hybrid that has all the classic trademarks of a refined sativa. We recommend this strain to sativa lovers with some cultivation experience. As a long flowering variety with a more delicate structure, it requires gardening know-how to avoid common mistakes that unnecessarily stress the plants. In particular, take care not to over-water or use oversized containers for soil. It is better to repot after the plants have rooted in smaller containers (such as 3-4L or 1 gallon) than to grow them out directly in a large pot. “Hot” soils should be avoided, especially nitrogen rich mixes and feeds. During flowering this variety produces elongated sativa-like buds and a minority can lean toward an extreme form with a rather fluffy appearance (foxtail colas). At maturity her branch tips swell with beautiful and aromatic resin-coated buds. Large gardens allow multi-branching, although staking may be necessary due to the willowy branches and weighty flowers. The height of mature plants grown in soil is pleasantly manageable with most plants averaging between 100-120 cm/3.3-3.9 feet and just the odd individual reaching up to 145 cm/4.75 feet (this is the extreme sativa type). Far Out performs satisfactorily in all mediums, but hydro is recommended if yield is the main objective. There are highly resinous plants with impressive potential for yield, so it is wise to keep clones as backup if you are looking for a keeper. Mold resistance is high. Prospects for growing this strain outdoor in moderate or hot climates are very positive and under good conditions bumper yields can be expected. Due to the fantastic calyx-leaf ratio you can almost just cut and dry the ripe buds. The sparse bud leaves tend to be fully covered with trichomes which extend even to fan leaves. The smoke is aromatic like sweet thyme with a touch of fruit and the high is reflected in her name: Far Out! (For more information please visit our website, which includes a report on how we “stress-test” all our feminized strains in our standard quality control.)

Product Features:

√ Sativa high
√ Excellent calyx-leaf ratio
√ Great outdoor potential
√ High mold resistance
√ Allows multi-branching

I've grown it before, and ended up with some phenomenal phenos, but all of them hermied due to high-stress training during flowering. I had no other options in that particular scenario! I was dismayed for a long time, but now that I know how sensitive they are, I will try again. This time I'll baby them and see if I can find one worth keeping around. Here are a few pics of the plants I grew before:

400w MH/HPS in a 2x2 tent. Setup is a hempy tub with perlite/vermiculite. Plan is to veg for a month or so, do some LST, and flip. I expect this to be good! :D

Here's what it looks like at the moment:

Not too much going on yet, but there's been a little growth. I still have to photodocument the grow! :D

The one on the left is already looking like it will be a blueberry leaning pheno, with those trademark crinkly leaves. I hope I get another blueberry cobbler pheno! Then the other one looks obviously different, so I'm hoping that one is a Colombian leaning one.

Patience is a virtue...

Seeing seedlings is one of the best times I have with a grow :)

That gave me the inspiration to go work on my box some more lol.

Bud: yes, I am growing them both out in this one 5 gal hempy tub. I don't expect any problems with that. I purposely went large on the size of the tub for this reason.

In the beginning like this I don't water every day. It's been like every 3 days actually, and I'm only doing that so that the nutrient solution doesn't ever get anaerobic. The roots have to reach the res down at the bottom of the bucket first before the growth explodes. It's kind of like watching water boil until that happens, lol.

No, I'm not trying any different nutes. I am sticking with what always works from now on: Flora nutes with Lucas formula. If I ever feel the need to experiment in the nutrient department, it will be with additives... like humates, fulvates, vitamins, that sort of thing. I have experimented with bloom boosters in the past and I do not like them. They create bigger buds, but they always seem to leave salts behind, even with a long flush. But yeah, I'm one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it" types. ;)

I have used Superthrive a bit, mostly as an anti shock/repot device. Not sure about adding it to my nutes regularly.

Here's a pic from today. I think the roots finally made their way down to the nutrient-rich water below! Growth should take off now.

Yeah, once the roots reach the reservoir, the growth explodes. This is pretty much equal with DWC growth, in my experience. Except, DWC explodes right off the mark. But other then that, I consider them equal in terms of growth rate.

Fredd, thank you, me too. I got tired of twine and knots, and drilling holes to tie the thread through. It just got old. So, I got creative. It just happens that I have a shit load of wire coat hangers, so I cut them up and made these "LST stakes" out of them. :D
