Harry Goes automated

Fields~of~Green

Do you veg in the same type but smaller?

normal squares 10cm then to these pots you dont want to prune the ends during veg just pot them up as normal and finish in a pruning pot

i tried it myself epic fail i had a rockhard root ball in the centre at the end,it just didnt seem right and it was a nightmare to water and it yielded alot less too

I for one oppose all automated irrigation systems for cannabis, I'm of the opinion that if you haven't 5 -10 minutes out of your busy schedule per week to maintain your plants then you should consider buying your weed from a dealer,
there's a lot more going on than just keeping your babes alive until harvest, there's a relationship thing going on, a symbiotic relationship perhaps, just being in the grow room, as an experienced grower ....some may know what I'm on about...?

Yes you may bring bugs into the sterile grow space, but you also bring presence, heat ,....and C02, this has yet to be clearly defined, but many old growers will understand

Thanks Al. It's all a bit scary and new at the moment.

I'm a great grower and a crap one. Great because I've been churning this stuff out five - six times a year for years, keeping my patients well, paying the bills, keeping food on the table ect.
Crap because I've only averaged 12 - 13 ounces per 600 light.

Figured it was time to change my game ftw.
lovely set up harry,,wishing you many a bountiful harvest,
sure the quality of your medicine makes up for lower yields, nice one harry! peace and regards s2:tiphat:

I've never run with a rez before. The girls have been fed from it for four days and they seem fine. I'm testing ph and ec each day and it's all stable. It's a bit warm at 24c so I put a couple of pop bottles full of frozen water in there and brought it down to 22.
I bought a rez heater but not a chiller...

Got a coupla little roots pokin out the side of these air pots now. Can't focus this cheap shit
camera well enough to catch a picture though.

ph had moved up a little but that's been adjusted down to 6ish again and I topped up with another 100 liters.
Maybe should have said I run Canna Coco A&B, 12 ml per litre Cannazyme, 1 ml p/l H&G drip cleaner and 3 drops p/l of Superthrive.
Been running Canna nutes forever. I kinda fancy a change but not yet, - too man other changes to get my head around for now.

Another less expensive alternative to airpots is large net pots, ie the really big oones used as pond planters. they have some 10 litre ones at B and Q. I think I saw Marlo using some Kidney shaped ones in his vert grow.

@ Dank Demon. It's a step into the dark for me mate. I'm not expecting too much from this first run. Like I said, genetics ain't great and they've been roughed up with the fucking borg. Aim is to get my first automated grow under my belt. Any improvement on 12 0z per light will be a plus. Nice to have you along, Man.

@FOG I'm feeding to waste. Will those temps still be alright?
Interesting oint about the Cannazyme. 12 ml p/l is half the recommended dose. When I was carting 10 liter buckets around every night I used to give them the same dose once per week. Now I'm running a rez I figured I'd need it in there all the time coz adding a dose to it once a week wont work. What do you do?

Would they work with coco, Harry?

I can't see why not. I have never used them with coco, but I did grow some soil plants in some at a friends house about 6 years ago. Someone else I knew a few years ago used them to grow in various granular Rockwool products like Cellmax (1CM2 cubes), Mapito(also contains Polyurethane foam) and Golden Wool, and his results were always great. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work out well for coco. All they are is really big netpots.

Edit.
I was mistaken about Marlos grow. He has long narrow airpots.

Okay then. I thought with those big gaps the coco would fall out...

No they are tight mesh netpots, not the ones with holes big enough for a marble to fall through. They are used to put plants in ponds. You might lose some very fine particles but unless you are pouring gallons of water through or bashing them around a lot, you shouldn't get very much coming out if any.
The square ones at B and Q are very small holes. The amount of soil I got coming out was negligible.

Ah, I get you now. Think I'll have a look next time I'm in B&Q.

Thanks, Man.

harry i meant circulate the rez small pump inside to create a ripple on the water(best way to add oxygen)

canna suggest 2.5ml per litre of cannazyme increasing towards the end if your reusing the media

i just keep it simple harry if i used it i would go through loads of it 10ltr a grow when i tried it i didnt see much difference not a significant amount to warrant buying that much for each grow
