LED light for small grow tent

I would like to know what LED lighting system would be the best choice for a 3x3x6.5 grow tent. I am making a change from 400w HPS to LED... any help or input is much appreciated thanks.

Here are my two choices:

1:Advanced Led Lights Diamond series 200w

2:Growblu Apollo 60x3w

i would go with the DS300 if your going to go with Advanced. Or XML350 and overdo it. The core coverage area is the size you want to look at. the DS200 would be a little too small for that size.

the growblu you mention is only for an 18"x18" area, or 1/4th of your 36"x36" tent.

What where you pulling in there with the 400 HPS? Id say at least half your HPS wattage if you want comparable yield's. and the latest tech as stated, but I think you got the idea. Growblu's I would go a minimum of the 180x3w full spectrum. Others would be the DS300 for Advanced, the CLW 200w Solarflare, and the Blackdog BD240 should produce simmilar result's for you in the under $1k price range. Let us know what you go with, would love to see any of them in action!

Hey thanks to you all for your Input.. I truly really appreciate it very much!! @babelfish @chileno1978 @Phychotron I have been doing more research on this and I have chose Advanced Led Lights the Diamond Series. I plan to go with the DS200 and DS100.. this will be my first all out true LED Run. I also seen some very good results off youtube grows thanks again peace.

@Neeks yeah im right there under the $1k price range. my choice is to run two lights the Advanced DS200 and the DS100 in my grow tent. Im so seriously hoping for comparable yields to my 400Hps I had along with CFLS for supplemental lighting... I will see soon thanks

Diamond series is about middle line for me. I have seen better result's with Growblu's, by Oneshot like babel said earlier... To me DS seem to be a notch above the likes of non-lens Blackstar's, but still not optimal for even coverage due to the optic's cutting side lighting down and the diodes tight spacing. The Growblu look's like an even trade-off between spacing of diode's for more coverage area, as well as having the lens to focus the beam for better penetration/uMol's. DS appears to be old tech to me, and I believe for that amount of money spent, it would be better invested in something newer. My :2cents:

There are some great grows here and elsewhere using either A51 or Apache

Forget cfls (mercury is an ever present danger) - use led globes instead. HD sells Cree 9.5w @ $13

They are a few steps above the blackstars, I have a few of those that don't work half as good.

hey bossman, i've done some deductive reasoning, and something you should probably look into is ping californialightworks about the growers program, they are doing the 400w for a big discount (~$600).

http://californialightworks.com/Grower-Program.htm
they let you run it for 90 days as long as you do a grow show.

i'm pushing one in my 3x3 hydrohut silver (which btw is very nice, and @ that size ~140 cheaper than the gorilla, which my boy has and is the best thing i've ever seen.. but expensive). i think it's not really enough power, my goal is 500-600watts @ the plug of light in my 3x3 after its dialed in.

also since it looks like your local to them, you might be able to pick it up and skip shipping and its delays.

Lol, I would never recommend any non-optic Blackstar to anybody, I am only using them as a reference point. Diamond series were the next gen tech after the first "3w" flat panel's... Then they moved on to the modular, spread out design's (IE Growblu, Area51...) If I had $1k at the moment, I would not buy multiple older technology unit's. I love the result's you are getting from DS lamps Psycho, but IMO it would seem more cost efficient for him to buy a larger, newer panel rated for the area, and then fill in any gap's with DS down the line (Their compactness makes em seem perfect for the job...). I definitely would look into the Solarstorm 400w as babel said also (I didn't mention as I thought you were trying to save electricity...), just in your range. Big $ = Quality over Quantity IMO. Low budget = china-tech.

about 1300 and you can get that lumigrow pro 650 - supposedly 2kw worth of adjusted par. only reason i didn't grab it is because i'm not convinced i can cool my area enough. I'll probably wait a little while while i dial in my current deal.

3x3 is small?

under 1k it's going to be hard to find something worthy.

should be able to pull it off building, and driving the LED at a higher watt for cheaper costs.

also might be able to find a used HGL light on ebay..?

3x3 is a odd size for LED lights I believe. as you can do 4 smaller units, or try and find 2 rectangle units..

here's something that might interest you, this is 400 watts of LED.

2 x 2 panels @ 60w @ $150 pr panel (sans drivers)

$1300 @ $150/ panel = ~ 8+ panels

That would easily accommodate a 6 X 3 ft canopy

3x3 is both tiny and huge :p

had a 2x4, did a 5x10 (2kw) and a few variations.. i was trying to do a 32"x32" which wasn't bad, but this 3x3 is 41"x41" so its much larger than the 32x32, but vastly smaller than the 5'x10'
