HERE is what I have so far ITEMIZED LIST!

1- 5 x 9 Gorilla Grow tent.
1- 8 inch exhaust fan
1- speedster fan controller
1- Blazer 8" air cooled reflector
1 Lumatek 600 watt Eballast
1 600 Watt HPS bulb
2 2 bulb t8 florescent fixtures (mixed warm and cool bulbs)
1 32 oz FN bloom
1 32 oz FN grow
1 16 oz ph up
1 16 oz ph down
1 16 oz silica blast
1 6 oz Superthrive
8 (1 cubic foot each?) bags Black Gold mix

Is 600 watts of light enough for 45 sq ft? (lol)

I have this setup in a garage. The tent is up, noting else is assembled, in fact a few of these items are still en-route.
Now all I need to do is go to the Dr to get my med exemption and I will be off to the races. How much should I be able to yield? I am going to start off by doing a 4x4 scrog under just this one lamp. I am looking at getting at least 16-24 oz per harvest using this method. I am growing for myself and two other patients. SUGGESTIONS!!! :cathug:

Looking for some strains to grow out... Indica dominant most likely. Any suggestions? I really liked the Aurora Indica.. I have heard Ice is great.

Couple things on first glance, 2bulb t5's don't put out much already more of a cloning light than a veg light. The yoyos won't hold a full size hood, but rope ratchets will. The black gold products ive seen aren't that great and crawling with gnats

Ditch the yo-yo light pulleys. If they are the plastic ones I am thinking of many people had them break, letting the lamp fall on to the plants. I know of someone who had them break while the lamp was on. Charred quite a few plants and probably would have lit a fire if it wasn't found when it was.

I recommend you buy some heavy duty pulleys and lumber to rig up an easy way to raise or lower lamp, or just use chains.

You are looking for 50-60w/sqft. That 600w would work well over a 3x4' or 3x3' area. Buy a couple more 600's and your tent should be good with a little bit of space around the edge.

600w is not enough for 45 sq ft...

EDIT: BTW this is better off in Grow Designs & Equipment Forum...

Odd, I have used black gold many times and never had any serious gnat issues.. Thanks for the heads up..

Hmm i didn't want to spend more than 175 on a scrubber... Yeah I don't know about 8 x 24 either.. seems really small to me as well.. Aren't CFM's a big factor as well/?

Good info.. Yes I will be upscaling in the future.. for now im going to scrog a 4 x 4 area with this 600 and see what I end up with. I have been able to pull a half pound from a 2 x 2 area in past grows, so this will be interesting...

"2bulb t5's don't put out much already more of a cloning light than a veg light"

I will be using t8s to veg.. I keep my plants very flat and they are trained from 6 -10 inches to remain in the useable area of light, which is basically directly below the bulbs.. This is like you said for clones and smaller plants... but I have also been able to grow plants quite large under t8 flouros.. so I can use these lights to veg quite well with the methods I use currently... . Upgrading to an 8 bulb t5 isnt a bad idea for the future though.. THanks !

Here's the deal with scrubbers/filters. Buy bigger, much bigger than you think you'd ever need. Once you walk up to your front door and smell you grow in the yard so has everyone else. Smell control is more important than anything else you set up for your grow. its's your first line of personal/family security.
Match the filter up with a good fan. Get a fan speed controller for 30.00. This will allow you to control the fan speed. If the fan draws air through the filter to fast odor will still escape because the odor molecules need to have enough residence time with the carbon to react.

I only have one 8 inch fan right now. My future plans are to purchase another 6 or 8 inch fan and seal the room up, having a separate fan for the lights and room. I also already purchased a speedmaster fan controller, was also looking into the thermostat controllers.. look like a good option imo. But yeah. Sealed room in the future..low on funds currently.
