I think that's going to be a jungle of flowers before you know it, the cooltube with the blower can really load the plants up.When I use the tubes like that I don't have to worry about burning off buds so much, those vert bulbs can pack the flowers on thick 360 deg and if I'm lazy I end up burning some pieces.:)

Looks good Budelight.

Those ipower setups are a good deal but I'm not sure about the quality. For digital balasts I'm using the dual lumatek 600's but I've been running some of those ipower 600 bulbs and so far they've been good.

Anyone out there planning on going to the Freedom Rally in Boston? Sept 14/15, think I'm trying to go Saturday. Shit ton of people there last year.

I might go w my girl but I'm not really sure as I work all day Saturday and she works high noon till 4 Sunday so we would miss out on most of it ..... if she gets the 15th off we more than likely will go ..... been a few years since the last one I went to

MOB ..... so tasty and such a nice smoke .... nice bits of purple in there and so fruity.... I just can't say a bad thing about her

Which purps you mean? The only one I've grown was kens gdp, she's alright imo, good medicinal effect but boring high. Have seen urkle before and it seems slightly better, but never grew it. Mendo purps yields bigger and gets super dark but potency is real low. Slow veggers, not much stretch, rock hard buds, grapey like a mofo with some being skunkier too.

Thanks lloyd.......don't know just passed to me as purps , I guess there is only one way to find out . I know most purples are kinda week on the potency tip

Thanks all. Ive heard lumatek's are the most popular/common brand. Will give them a strong consideration.

Can i used the same 600w bulb when i dim the ballast down to 50%? How bad is this for th bulb?

Thanks for the info and huge thanks for the positive comments on my garden. Got to keep that stretcher in her place in the back middle. My grow is not large, but it provides enough for me and my other head.

Cheers and Happy Friday!

I've soured on Lumatek, gone thru 4 of them in the last 8 yrs, after running the same magnetic ballast for 20 yrs.
Been using a NextGen 600W the last yr. w/ no complaints.
I never mess w/ the dimmers, give me LIGHT!

Is that an MH bulb you have there? We have a similar set-up. I'm running a 600w bulb vertically in cool tube, w/ LED's overhead, in a 4' x 4' tent.

Baph, If its the GDP I have to admit I thought that stuff was very potent and use to love smoking it at night time, its was one of those cuts Llyod and I had different opinions on. Also that was the only 'purps" buds I ever enjoyed growing and smoking on.

Bud, nice looking set up!

HL, your not the first person to say you weren't keen on the lumateks anymore. I have to be honest though I've been using 4 1k ballast (non dimmable) for over 5 years going on 6 and only a couple weeks ago did 1 of the 4 shit the bed. That being said when I went to get a new ballast I ended up getting the galaxy for the reasonable price. Another thing I've heard about the lumatek ballast is that they weren't compatible with Hortiliux bulbs, the main reason I switched over to using the Ushio's. That was a blessing in disguise, I personally feel they're better then the horti's and cost much less on top of it. about 4 years ago or so I unintentionally had the bulbs side by side in a tent and the ushio out performed the horti by a good amount, I never looked back.

Freedom Rally is fun, spent last year laying down too high on hash oil brownies. I am sure I'll be up and around this year, haha.

^^ that LA cut is wicked frosty!

Mind if I ask everyone a question about using epsom salt (Mag) in soil pots? (Using FFHF)

I have been using it with every feeding which is every other watering.
Approx at a rate of 1/3 tsp / gal.
My question is how much do you fellas use during each stage of growth?
When do you stop adding it?

I don't want to under/over do it on my ladies :)

Thanks in advance,
BeL

So I grew out my freebie pack of Blue Satellite 2.2's thinking the genetic makeup was something entirely different.I think I'd seen the name so much I said wow, I didn't know I had these!!I've talked to about 4 or 5 guys who have grown it and said it totally sucked, don't bother with it, after I'd had them going...Regardless, they turned out really nice, maybe the seeds were switched but the plants had the telltale stiff, hollow blueberry stalks. I tried very hard to take a decent picture but I guess you can't have everything.:) The thrips were having a great time on the upper fans, still these were some of the best plants from seed I've grown in awhile but be warned!! I've read a ton of reports on this stock and not many were good...:tiphat:

This is the second plant, very tall and lanky.I'd picked a bud off her a week back and smoked it while taking these down and cleaning the room out.The smoke was excellent but it takes more than one smoke to figure these things out...Damn summer bugs, these plants had no treatment of any kind, some ugly leaves but the flowers are fine.

i grew that out last summer Slip. didnt find anything too stellar, definitely found a few junk phenotypes. the one that hung around for a few rounds looks like yours pictured but had an astringent / cough syrupy type of smell. was some of my nicest bag appeal flowers to date, will say that.

A constant (low) level added to your water is fine, and I usually cut it out towards the end of flowering before normal flushing (if you do that). Honestly I only add Cal/Mg if I see the plant getting a deficiency in soil/soil-less. Coco and hydro is gets added every time, but I use a calmag product and not epsom salt....even with straight tap water.

Beware of salt build up adding epsom every watering, get good run off. What nutrient line are you using?

Thanks DZL,

I'm using maxibloom (and maxigrow) in FoxFarm HappyFrog. I use straight water every other watering.

Still getting the hang of how much nutes they need by listening to the plants vs following a nute schedule from the packaging. But a baseline is always a good place to start :)
