fixed it, apparently the newest update of firefox had decided icmag was the devil and blocked popups from them....never saw that lil icon hidden in the midst of all the other lil icons they put up there lol

Good job sneaky!!! had me pulling my hair out

Reason this happens, chat has a java applet - firefox thinks all java is the devil since the new exploits.

That stupid little shield in the URL bar next to the addy is real easy to miss, specially cause i use fullscreen mode.

Thanks bro

Thanks Sneaky .... lets try to make this clear for other FireFox users .... look up next to the URL line ... just to the left of it is a little shield .. you need to allow chat to open by clicking on the shield and choosing "Disable protection on this page " . Hope this helps See you in chat!!!

what a pita, after I click disable protection on this page it just brings up a blank white error page inside the chat box. If I hit refresh or whatever it thinks the page isnt allowed and blocks it. Then I unblock and it doesnt work.

Firefox is stepping up its security, thats all ... (i agree tho it'd be better if their security alerts were more visible!!!) ... you can disable protection on icmag pages like i've done which works fine, allowing me to use icmag and icmag chat as normal... if that doesnt work for you you havent got the settings right so maybe try a different browser like Chrome or IE to keep things simple

Here's a Firefox screenshot example... it's such a subtle small icon, with powerful consequences regarding what gets rendered/allowed etc, so I'm sure it's caused a bit of a headache for many users recently!!! ...

So just click on that tiny 'shield' icon, then click the "Keep Blocking" button, then click "Disable protection on this page" ... this essentially reverts the behavior of Firefox to how it was earlier, when there was no probs

ps. If you use the Firefox browser I also strongly recommend you use the freeware NoScript Firefox addon, it greatly increases your browsing security by blacklisting all active content at new sites by default, but makes it easy to allow active content if you trust the site, so it's not a hinderance or annoying like some security systems can be
