Get two delivery guys for a while. One guy holds the product and his job is to keep an eye out. The other guy checks paper work and collects money. Also, collect money first, no money, no meds.

I'd use a buddy team to make deliveries instead of a solo dude.

Both ride in the delivery vehicle, however, instead of driving directly to the delivery site, stop the vehicle short of final destination, and ONE team member grabs exactly what was ordered, and either walks / runs or bikes to the final destination spot.

Shit goes south? You only risk losing one delivery and not the whole batch. The dude waiting in the vehicle can also be positioned in a spot that allows him to provide early warning via cell phone to the delivery dude.

This is fantastic advice!!!!! :good:
When I was 22, I had a guy set up a QP'er deal with a guy he knew. When I pulled into the parking lot I seen 1 guy standing there. I got a chill and a bad feeling in my gut. I parked far away fro m him and told the guy to walk over to him, get the money, and then come back to get the stuff. He refused so I gave him a big top cola to show him we had it. When dude walked back with it, another dude came out from behind a big tree on a hill he was hiding behind with a gun and the other dude had a bat in his jacket and hit the guy I was with and took the cola.

I never put myself in a position where I could risk to loose a good amount. Since then Ive never done more than a 1/4ounce.
An ounce to my closest, most trusyed friends. But never more than an ounce. Its always safer this way.

The first thing we have to realize is: No matter what you use to ward of the would be robber, no one is going to win here, except possibly LEO. First-To pull out your Glock and start blasting away- over mere ounces, is just galacticly stupid. Second -If youre an employee, are you really going to defend a few ounces with deadly force when the disp owner, when the shit comes down, is going to save his own ass first by claiming he had no idea you were armed?? In the same, as a employee/delivery driver and your first day on the job, the disp owner either issues you a gun or asks you to supply your own weapon of choice, IS THIS A JOB YOU REALLY NEED?? Fellas, youre not driving a Brinks truck. Taking a life or losing your own BY ANY MEANS or merely putting yourself in harms way over an hourly wage and 4 ounces...boggles the mind.

So, you own the delivery service and are making the deliveries yourself to keep down the overhead which btw, isnt an entirely legally recognized business to begin with. You blow Mr Robber into the street and then call the cops. By Fed standards alone, youre selling an illegal substance and now youve injured or perhaps even killed someone, while in the act. Meanwhile, Mr Robber's family says yea, "little Robbie wasnt a very good person but he didnt deserve having an entire Glock clip emptied into his face. Civil lawsuit. The local Leo's, to cover their butts, leaks a story to the press: "Marijuana Delivery Dude Kills Would-Be Thief With Unlicensed Gun" So, now, your in the pokey waiting arraignment, sitting next to Bubba, the Yugo car-jacker specialist and he asks: "What ya in for brutha?" Do ya look him square in the eyes with unwavering pride and conviction and answer: "I blew away a dirty low down no good mofo for trying to steal my...4 ounces...?"

Last but not least, Mr Robber(s). How long do you think he's gonna feel good about his new-found profession when he's trying to flee the scene by jumpin fences, running thru back yards, all the while trying to avoid detection cause he just got away with a major haul of...4 ounces or less. That's a lot of drama, not to mention work: runnin, jumpin and hidin for such a small amount of... loot? Really fellas, give the guy the shit and then tell him: "Bro, you need to find a real job..." If they treated cannabis like they treat pharmaceuticals these people would be all over the news headlining "Ring of bandits rob six medical facilities and are still at large".

^they woulda been shot by now because when defending a legal pharmacy you get to shoot them, and eventually that is what happens to bandits.

how about this, have the order in the trunk of the car. Pay first (after all these must be strangers right?) and pop the trunk after $$$ is made. The car could be facing a safe/fast out direction so the driver could beat a hasty exit if need be.

no extra equipment or personnel needed and only a slight change in the current routine.......

I was co-owner for a bit of a delivery service down in So-cal for a bit. We always had two guys go do deliveries with new patients and anyone that seemed like they might be sketch a second time. We would keep everything in the trunk minus what they ordered, lets say an 8th. we'd get an 8th of 5 or so dif kinds and leave the rest in the trunk and then show them those 8ths all the while two sets of eyes keeping an eye out for anything weird. Had the drivers work out coded phrases to mean we need to leave now, I feel sketchy, etc.

Why not get together with the various other services that have been jacked and form a plan to try to protect from happening again.

Ok so in the city I live there has arisen a group that operates separate of each other but works together to get large amounts of product together. They all have med cards and place delivery orders usually to the state law max carry rules, and when you get to them to deliver they grab your bag and run and have a get away car ready for them less than a 1/4 mile away. They have robbed over 6 dispensaries/delivery services in the last week and each place has been gotten for at least 1-4 oz plus, concentrates, scales, and one place's driver was even hit with a bat as he pursued one of the assailants... How should we as the medical providers in the community handle this situation (other than just blackballing the 3 face showing members of the group).
Thank you for the good laugh !!!
Assuming you are talking about doing this in Detroit.... are all you folks involved insane ?????? Sounds like you are doing hookups in shady places with shady filth ! Use some common sense instead of being so greedy, you already established their modus operendi - dont deliver to shithole areas with max amounts. Meet people in far more public locales where running and stealing will be less of an option. All of you folks that got robbed are very lucky you did not catch a bullet between the eyes.
Don't be some damn stupid !!! Maybe your delivery drivers need some classes from some real pro drug dealers who can tell you how to operate. Because if you have to meet in shady areas ( City of Detroit) you are playing Russian roulette with your life.

Well, back in the summer of 2011--the advantage of having an "armed security guard" for MMJ delivery was "reinforced".

Police say Minh Kinh Dang and three friends tried to rob a medical-marijuana deliveryman in Brea Wednesday night.

But after Dang whipped out a gun, the deliveryman's security guard produced his own and fatally shot Dang, according to police.
Now, Dang's three accomplices are being held for his murder.

This all went down just before 8:15 p.m. in the Birchwood Village apartment complex, located at 1717 E. Birch St., Brea. The unidentified guard fired three rounds at Dang, and the sound of the blasts produced a police call of shots fired.

Officers arrived and, after seeing Dang's dead body on the ground, initially held the guard. But after questioning him and the deliveryman, also unidentified, as was his Los Angeles medical-marijuana dispensary, they were released.

Arrested for armed robbery and Dang's murder were: James Yi, 18, of Irvine; Earl Augustus Austin, 19, of Santa Ana; and an unidentified third male.

Good guys win--and bad guys go to the pokey "for robbery"; yep...better to be judged by 12--than carried by 6.
