I leave it under pressure until it is done.

How long are we talkin about...I leave it between 6-10 hours

For shatter, about 30 minutes, and for wax, as long as it takes, which has been from almost immediately to over 12 hours.

I was planning on just vaccing until there where no bubbles and it wasn't all goey floating around under the 105-110 temp.

If I want to make a real thin film for shatter is it ok to smash it between two pieces of parchment and roll it out? Does this have any negative effect on the end result?

115F @ down to (but not further than) -29.5" Hg. I pull up and down for an hour to an hour and a half, though as GW stated, twenty minutes is plenty for the butane to purge, I just want to make sure all the moisture has also been purged. I can get further bubbling after the hour to an hour and a half purge by then vacuuming lower than -29.5" Hg @ 115F, these bubbles imo are the good oil components beginning to cold boil off, so I NEVER GO LOWER THAN -29.5" Hg. That's what the boiling point under vacuum data suggests... Chill a half a glass of water to 52F and vacuum it down, valve off as soon as a rapid boil is observed, make a note of the reading on your dial gauge, this is -29.5" Hg.

I just place the mass of oil in the middle of the parchment paper, let it come up to 115F, and vacuum it down to -29.5" Hg. It will expand out creating the perfect thickness when the first muffin is pulled.

Nope, that will speed it up spreading out into a thin film if you are making shatter.

Also, if we are making shatter, we may collapse the muffin several times so that stays thin instead of forming honeycomb.

So that's about 30 minutes vacuum at -29.5" Hg?

I just have a weak brake bleed hand vac at the moment and can only get between -25"and-24"Hg. How long and at what temp should I vacuum purge to get a shatter? Looking for maximum terpene retention.

Boiling point data for water and ß-caryophyllene. ß-caryophyllene is the first of the known cannabis oil components to boil off. http://skunkpharmresearch.com/cannabinoid-info/

115F @ -24 to -25" Hg should still pull off the remaining butane quickly, but you're not boiling off any moisture present...so do everything you can to avoid moisture in the first place, cover your evaporating dish during boil off, freeze your starting material, etc.

I don't vacuum a specific time, I vacuum until the solvent bubbles are gone and only the CO2 bubbles remain.

With a brake bleeder, you will need wrists like most peoples necks and be subject to repetitive motion diseases. I would suggest investing in an electric one.

Would moisture in the concentrate result in a runnier oil than a viscous "shatter"?

My IR gun never read higher than 130*F on the oil during the heat purge and was then vac'd around -24" @ max 115*F for about 1-1.5 hours. The weather has been humid here lately and there was definitely a little bit of frost that formed on the dish during the first run.
