DAYYUM! Nice BB Pos! I had a single s1 from a batch that ended up male and got some blue/purple BALLZ! Chucking his load to everything I got ATM, hopefully I get something special like yourself ;P ! Oh and sorry for bombing your thread with that paragraph rant, was meant for another thread. I appreciate you testing the integrated waters too btw! Will reply 1 page at a time in the future lol, you my friend obviously are a informed consumer ;P!

HDY, FYI most Epiled's, whether 1w or 3w, are the same emitter's. There are no bin's in the industry term of the word. Your individual chip quality is determined at random based on whether the person operating the machine that day was on it or not lol. Better brand's you are paying more for better QC, and the flawed chips (Ie lower output...) are sold for a lower price. The chinese just pump em out, indiscriminate of PAR output, so long as they shine bright enough visually. That being said they do their job, putting out a specific color of light, at an intense ass job. Now are they being applied in the right way to grow Marijuana? I do not think so. They are kinda just left guessing, and going off our input when it comes to actual R&D pertaining to growing our specific plant. Now if you look at our community, there are some individuals really making it work! Most of these designs they use have already been done by the chinese. Now if you think about what I said, then you can see what the problem is. They tend to not really think when it comes to designing. They have the means to easily and cheaply make rocking panel's, they just can't get the combo's right most of the time, Ie under powered driver's with lens, mid range drivers and more cooling but no lens, funky spectrum etc... Do your dirt, copy some one who you deem sucessful, and the only disappointment's in the end will be your own fault. I made the mistake of buying Blackstar UFO's thinking they would be "100w" (Ooh at 1w/g yay! Not!). I mean they do great for their actual wattage, but penetrating more then 6" is a long shot. After realizing it's never gonna pull 3z's and looking into it I realized 1) I could have bought it cheaper from china. 2)Technically it does what it should. And 3)There are many more capable panel's to be found from china, if you know what to look for. I got 180w's for $1.20/w shipped, with build and grow quality on par with Advanced Diamond Series. Integrated is too risky IMO, until VG finishes his 100w show...
Neekz,

Thanks for the info. I just took the glass out of my big Noah. You should've seen how thick it is. It's clear they don't care too much about par readings or the new integrated act like a laser without glass. :) We shall find out.

Sounds like you got a good deal. My led experiment is also for supplemental lighting. I am using big trees, so , we shall see. I cant wait to get my quantum meter.

It got a little brighter huh...lol.
The glass they used was crazy thick!

I actually put some glass back on mine, a lot thinner though, just used picture frame glass with some cool little sliding holder things I found. My noah is frying my plants now that their stretching and getting closer to the light

I've been noticing there is nice growth on the outer edges so I think my problem is just not enough room for this light. Probably gonna have to build a larger cab if I want to continue to use this light.

Looks like you should be seeing some differences on the end with the noah soon. Definitely would like some feedback to help me decide if I want to go through the trouble of building a larger cab

Here's an idea if you ever feel the need to get some glass back on the integrated leds. Looks like you have lots of vertical room and probably won't need to, but if you feel the need this worked well.

$3 picture frame.... Took out the glass and epoxied on magnetic tape from lowes. Sticks on strong with no worries of it falling off. Comes off just as easy for cleaning. Better than trying to put the original glass back in.

I find its a good compromise between no glass and the extra thick factory glass. Its probably half as thick, maybe less. I'm out of headroom so I had to think of something.

I'm also finally starting to feel some love for the noah finally. After a helluva rough start

Some of it is my fault. Running 380w full blast with no glass in a small short tent. That probably contributed to the heating up like a oven.

Someone in a large room might have not noticed àny bad effects. But I'm sure someone else will try what I did and have a similar bad result.

I've got some fried plants but also some looking pretty good. So I can see now the light is capable of good growth.

For the rest of flowering ill be using just the integrated leds. The light runs much cooler that way even with my adjustable fans turned down to halfway finally. I'm done guessing why for now but when I turn the middle panel up it gets twice as hot.

This should be fine with just integrated for flowering. It was why I bought the light anyway. I didn't want to run 380w
either, too much for me. Just integrated runs at 260w with fans off. About 65w per 90w led.

The middle panel should be useful in veg with integrated turned down to a minimum. But as I normally run perpetual, it will be mostly integrated.

Long post but I want to give a fair review of this light. I can see it has some potential.

Here's one of the nicer plants, we will see what she turns into.

Hey homie,

Have you considered trimming your bottom thirds on your plant? you got a lot of bottom growth and I bet it would do a lot better if you trimmed the bottoms so the leds don't have to penetrate as far.

I'll take some pics of what is going on in my end.

Hope all is well..

Yah, normally I clean up the bottom. First run with this light though so I wanna see what it can do penetration wise.

I never really found it made bigger top buds though. Just less popcorn, better airflow, and easier to keep an eye on the soil.

Things are alright. Seen better days all around. But always try to stay positive

Wish I could afford to run a gavita, I bet that would put a big ol smile on mi face...lol

Just thought I would update the thread so as not to leave anyone hanging

The grow has been cancelled

Flowering was progressing too slowly. Plants that I nursed back to health turned into a crispy mess soon as I cranked up the 90w integrated leds.

In retrospect the noah 4 needs 735nm leds added. It was an option but I didn't add it in thinking the ww leds would cover that. Not so.

My space was also too small. There were healthy parts of plants on the outskirts of tent but everything directly under the integrated pretty much died off.

So if anyone decides to still try this light make sure you have a area larger than 36" x 20" x 60"
I think the ideal situation for this light is a 3 x 3 space with 72" plus height. 735nm to speed up flowering since the integrated doesn't contain any. And the light raised high to take advantage of the 90w integrated nice footprint. Probably a a scrog situation since the higher the light the less penetration will be available

On the bright side. The gehl lights are very cheap. If your thinking of going DIY you could pick up something like my dual switch model for $117. You would have a housing for drivers, two switches pre wired, thermostat, and a fan power supply. Not a bad deal.

My dual switch is being converted into a high power unit complete with cree xmls, Philips, and ledengin leds. Will start a journal sharing the process when all parts have arrived

Time to turn lemons into lemonade
