Has anybody recently ran Sensi's NL? They have some interesting stuff but I can't get over their questionable reputation. Out there in internet land there doesn't seem to be many grows of their strains.

I have wanted to try a true NL but have no idea what is what. My best plant for last three years since the day I popped it Sensi seeds fem NL5xHaze. Someone described the bud smelling like "dead fruit" I second that with the hint of candy sweetness. It is one of the few buds where it gets pretty euphoric in the mind and body finishes in about 90 days.

NL #1 was NL affie x Afghani #1 , The Affie was inbreed for several generations before out crossing to Afghan , Hawaiian , Mexican , Colombian and Indian plants .
NL #5 clone was the affie crossed to an unknown Hawaiian strain then Bx to the NL affie .

I ran 5 BCSC NL and had bad results. I had 1 sativa pheno with with fluffy buds and narrow leaves and one decent pheno with dense buds. The dense one was a bland smoke and the sativa was pretty good.
The other plant was a runt and never produced real buds and the smoke was crap. Like smoking leaves. The other seeds were duds.
Maybe this is how it is supposed to be but the cost of the seeds is too high for me to continue.

The only "BC Bud" I smoked was about 1997 and is the first, at least to me epitome of "hydro" or dro, hydroponic bud. Light to lime green, fresh sweet lime/mint/almost orange aroma with bright orange hairs, complete opposite of old or cured bricked, this was like opening a new bag of leprechaun charms, just such a strong fresh overpowering aroma, not pungent like a distinct skunk strain, attempting to describe cannabis is difficult although the associations, olfactory familiarity are all but crystal clear
Keep a watch out for Melvanetics. Its not always available, but is a 1989 Garlic Pheno Sensi genetics clone x NL5 male.
Also any seeded NL5 is a Hybrid, and not the same genetics as the original clone. Not saying the hybrid NL5 cant be fire, because it can.
Swami Organic Seeds has a Bx1 of the Original early 80s NL5 cut before it went to Holland, x Nevils 88 LTD Release NL5/Haze. They were just dropped 3-4 days ago.
He has 1 line geared towards the Indica side, and the other Sativa. Look for long flowering times on some of it. 75-90 days for the heavy sativas.
Dominion Seed Company also has a cross of the Melvanetics 1989 Garlic clone x Dominion Skunk. (Skunk VA Chemdog91 X SSSC Skunk 1) X (Skelly Hashplant X SSSC Skunk 1)
Skelly Hashplant came from Nevils original Hashplant genetics from 1989.
The SSSC is Super Sativa Seed Club Skunk 1.
This Skelly SSSC Sk1 male was used in the NL5 cross. Its called Munson.
It is also on sale for Buy One, Get One. If you order the Deadband which is original Headband x Dominion Skunk Male, and Munson, you can get them for around $130 including shipping. If you want REAL Original Sk1??? Todd McCormick has it, straight from Mel Frank, who has had it since 1988. All 100% Original, and also bred by Mel. Expensive though $20 a seed, and $25 Shipping. They seemingly milk the shipping, unless its overnight, or something. But it is what it is.
Todd has also written a book with Mel, and is a 17-19 time cancer survivor.

I find it funny how everyone and their grandmother all of a sudden have oldschool/80's/original Northern Lights #5 right after Mel dropped her 89 NL#5. What ever happened to credit where credit is due? I've been looking for NL#5 for years and it was almost impossible to obtain, until Mel did her drop.
