@ npsecta, with all due respect I know what I got out of Granada hills and I know they were three different og kush strains. To say they weren't around just because you had no access to them is ignorant.
I have had my sfv clone since before most knew of the nug and would pay 800 a zip. The best p I ever got was 7800, and btw swerve was around and my bro couldn't stand him. He took those names not made them up.
I have had sfv pre 2000' so don't tell me what I have or when I got it. Have a nice day.

800 a pop is a rip off. no offence but that's way too much to pay for any weed

It is just what it went for man. I didn't set the prices. There was always kind going around for 200 if that made you feel better. That was a premium price and you were lucky to get it.
If you had any idea what they paid other places you wouldn't believe.

the only og kush cut i remember reading about on OverGrow was SFV

somebody payed $1000's for a tray of clones and one of them was og kush, and so it begins.

in a decade of reading this is the first and most true sounding story to me.

the question is where did that tray of clones come from.

and all these 'other stories' sound like stoner stories.

if you like thoes heres a much better one.

og kush is an 80's indica x sativa cross grown under fluros and selected for 'kush' qualities....

because the market was demanding something nug up real nice without HID

there, now if someone quotes me on another forum this will be the story of how og kush came about. see how easy.

it would be even better if i started a seed company and then posted this story in strain descriptions. hooray for marketing.

man they rolled out the red carpet when they saw you coming lol..

clones I wouldn't mind paying for though because you can make your money back on them ten fold. I would never pay that for weed though.

mind..you gotta remember not too long ago cookies was going for ridiculous amounts and that's just the forum cut.

It was for a tray of 50. Mine was free. I can assure you it was worth it.
Besides I am Irish. We don't get red carpets do we?

Its very mold and heat resistant. Seems like it would be a strain grown outdoors in florida or he PNW before indoor growing got popular. Wouldnt they have just grown bigbud in cali or some other nice yielding powerhouse strain.

its all misinformation when it comes to this subject, i am sure that until Chimera and Tom hill let us in on their genetic mapping no one will know the truth, the folks that brought these strains to market arent saying shit nor stepping forward..

how do you know what parts are misinformation unless you know the whole truth behind things?

i smell horse shit, every one check your shoes. i hate threads like this all they do is spread more misinformation

The problem is when people present 'theories', 'guesses', and 'second hand info' as truth. Like that statement about sensi's hindu kush. He said that shit like fact. Thats how misinformation is spread.
if everyone was honest, and presented their opinions as opinions, discussions like this could be fun. Also, nobody is forcing you to be here.
Its funny, for so many people to say they dont give 2 shits about this, yet they all stopped by. obviously they care a little. (This isnt directed at any one person). So before anyone else decides to post how much they dont give a shit; think about how dumb that sounds considering that you saw a thread titled 'og mystery solved?!' and cared/interested enough to check it out.

$mike- you take requests bro? can u do somethin wit the angel og. i need some vanilla bean skunk butt in my life.:tiphat:

And fwiw, i personally put little faith into what h.t. prints about cannabis history. Like bog previously stated it is a big buiness and we can never be sure who they are in bed with. Its obvious some parties will make a lot of money because of this article, regardless of its truthfulness. I started this thread because i wanted to hear the opinions of people much more knowledgable than myself. So far, ive accomplished that. My goal was never to start conflict. *I appoligize for bein a dick to anyone.

the thing about that is i do care, quite a bit i am obsessed with genetics and strains, when i see posts like the sensi hindu and people like this bubba guy running their mouth spewing opinionated bullshit as fact or fist hand account it drives me crazy, i dont understand the egotistical logic of a person that can take a rumour
they hear online and go around preaching like they were there with hands on, and don't get me started on bringing up rappers names tied to this strain some people need to take the cotton out of their ears and put it in their mouth

that part wasnt directed at you.
but i do 100% agree with what you just said.
I actually was just thinkin about another thread i was reading here at ic. Some guy was saying about all these different og's he had (he had about 39 different dispensary style ogs), and he said that 2 of the cuts he got were just labeled 'og kush'. But instead of just calling it that (really he should have called it 'mystery strain', considering he got it from a dispenary), he was gonna call them saulson og, ("cause everyone else gets to name one")lmao. I couldnt believe it. Its shit like that, that has forever muddied the og waters and fuckd any true hope of gettin to the truth.

I too find it hard to believe he had never heard of Kush. In the Mid 80s in Florida there was an abundance of genetics to choose from and many of us there had heard of or smoked kush, black gunji, thai stick, Moroccan and Afghani, and loads of sativas from Columbia and Jamaica, to name a few. Kush then was very dark green, wide leaves, orange hairs and chunky. As a Florida native I first smoked what is now called "O.G." in fall of '91, funny thing was I got it from a friend who had moved to Humboldt and sent me some. It was not very long after that, that the local growers of NWFL started growing some very lemon/pine strains that are/were "OG" in taste and effect, but the flowers were much fluffier than the Cali versions. Might never be a real end to the debate about origins of this beloved series of strains. But I am just glad its around to enjoy with friends,Cheers!

No disrespect Wendull...your numbers are solid...anyone who was around back in the day knows OG cuts used to command very high ticket prices in the $5000-10000+ price range...and the finished product was always worth its weight in gold. However...every single person I know who aquired OG cuts prior to 2K4 always got them as merely OG Kush (Pure Kush & Triangle Kush being the only exceptions)...the monikers like "SFV" & "Tahoe" only started becoming necessary &/or popular roundabout the middle of the last decade, roughly '05-'07...anyone who says otherwise is just stretching the truth...imho. Granted...there is no sense arguing/debating any of this considering the shape the OG name game is presently in today...I'm sure you can agree with that. :tiphat:

Bubblegum ... Kush?

The idea that OG often seems like a cross of these two seems possible to me. I found my sour bubblegum clone mom in my Bogbubble. It is an OG type but I think it possible others came from the same roots.

Some OG has a funk a bit like pre '98 bubba kush but not all. Where did all the good skunk of old in Cali go? It was powerful with dark green bitter leaves but very good potent buds that were often quite frosty. Man it stunk. Did it have the cat piss smell in curing?
