Bootz garden of slothiness

Your strains are funky but have you given any thought to the IBL project we discussed earlier?
Do you have any of the "pure" ZA strains on the go?

If I had to choose one or two strains to work with first, what should I plant?

There is the Red Angola project still in the pipeline, butter I need some more inspiration about kick-ass strains you locals think are the bees-knees and should be preserved.

Let me know what you think?

Well now let's see your blueberries....

hey shokdee!

taking the cam to the BlueDigiBerry F2s tonight. will upload pics in the morning. they are looking beautiful.

about the pure lines, for me the bees knees are malawi gold (ace seeds) durban (local picked) transkei (local picked) and ciskei (tropical seeds co)

right now i have too much on the go but i will slowly be trying to acquire these genetics as time goes on. maybe we can trade some beans when you come home :) would love some of those durbans.

Do you read Huisgenot, coz I'm feeling at home already.

And do not forget AFRO PIPS please (R.I.P.), if anyone has some of his seeds stashed away waiting for a rainy day....

Malawi, Durban, and then the Sky's the limit. Sounds good.

I've only one DP flowering at the moment and one male bursting with joy all over some Thai and Swazi ladies. I'll let you know when anything exciting happens.

Soil mix running bit dry on you Bootz! Love those winter colours hey, that Magenta plant is just gorgeousness x 5. The Chunk f2 steal the show though. Phenomanol looking garden, as we would expect from you. So you mentioned mildew issue's. I hope your still growing organic. Here's something I found, I had issues almost every grow with mildew. Unphased by it now.... Enter lactobacillus a pro biotic, strengthens the food web in your soil big time!!!!!!! I now swear by it in all stages of the plants life as a feed & also very, very effective combined as a foliar feed. It's cheap fully organic and you make it yourself to!

http://gilcarandang.com/recipes/lactobacillus-serum/ - Don't only look at the lactro serum.
Here are a few other recipes found on above link.

Homemade Fish Fertilizer
Beneficial Indigenous Microorganisms(BIM)
Calcium Phosphate (CalPhos)
Grow Fertilizer
Bloom Fertilizer
Immuboost
Ginger-Garlic Extract (It boosts the immune system and helps fight insect and fungal pests)
Neem Extract

Here is something you can mix and use instantly, I found this method but have not tried it myself, it is appliead as a foilar feed:

Mild PM
1 part Fat Free Milk
9 Parts dechorionated water
1 Drop Dishwashing liquid

Bad PM
Take 500ml fat free milk and soak 50 g of rice in it for 3 days
Take the rice and milk mix and strain it
Use 1 part milk rice mix
9 parts dechlorinated water

I hope either are suitable for your garden, give it a go (would love see results)

Hi bh4vn35h, Thanks for the advice !

I am still growing organically for sure. To combat the fungus i am using Margaret Roberts organic fungicide and the active ingredient is activated vitamin C. This works by creating an environment on the leaf surfaces that is inhospitable for the fungal growth (too dry and wrong pH). But it does not kill the mildew directly. This product is safe to use on edibles 24 hours before harvest so I think there is nothing too bad in there.

I am fine with harvesting a plant with a few spots on the leaves but if it gets any where close to the bud it goes in the compost pile.

I will look into using lacto mix in my next soil. I have cultivated it once and used it on the compost pile, it seemed to accelerate decomposition quite a lot.

Its quite sad to see perfect plants get knocked by all sorts of things like bugs disease fungus heavy wind rain hail etc as they mature. But its all part of growing outdoors in my opinion. All i can do is minimize the damage.

Will get into reading that website tonight :)

nice! looks like you found a good male in those seeds! It has similar flower structure to the chunk F1 male that I pollinated all my fems with. What does it smell like on a stem rub?
