Volcanna's method of refining resin here reminds me of the Afghan method of silk pouch resieving; told of on pages 76-77 of R.C. Clarke's HASHISH! (2nd ed.).

"Knowledgeable hashish makers placed a small bit at a time in a handkerchief-size piece of silk...they gathered the cloth into a pouch, tying the top."

This silk pouch was then tapped or bounced around to refine the resin inside.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I can think of at least 6 things i've already let go that people have skipped over. People are mad because i'm another Sam.. which isn't really true. I am not trying to make money.. never was the intention.. but i'm also not going to just give it up, either. People don't respect me and are using that as an argument right now... soo why would I tell you guys how to do this stuff? Hmm.. Anyways.. Yes.. that wax is incredible looking. I can agree with that.

Im going out on a limb here. Were both growers on a forum.
Heh..

I probably said you had nothing to contribute as you said you don't make dry sift. Which is a shame, being you have some incredible product to do so with.

I can live with that. Just find it lame that the guys slamming me originally couldn't provide any pictures themselves.. did the same on another forum.. moving along..

-dehumidifier
-61 lpi is my main screen (yep, really)
-no motors or anything mechanical/electrical
-one sift, no carding, no re-sifting (you could, I just don't)
-It was less than $30
-1/8" adhesive foam strips (1" wide)

Is really all I can give you without giving it all up.
Well it does sound super simple. I always imagined the finer the screen the better the product? I can imagine a million ways to agitate the product. Wouldnt freezing the product help? I know a bunch of people who card, use dry ice and other shit and its always pretty bunk. Very crappy in comparison to my should we call it "nfs naturally fallen sift". i only get that from some strains. Ater my huge paragraph i realized you were probably kidding about the ditch but i was already so far along i was like oh well ha. Anyway i will admit some og sift that looks like yours would be "holy grailish". Thanks for turning the corner here. Always better to put heads together than butt them.

Im happy to take my own advice and "calm my monkey ass down" but ill admit, as witty as the comment was, asking "is this sams troll account" struck a nerve lol. Alls well that ends well though. Thanks for the info bro. Sorry about my unkind words.

Not always.. as you can see by the bubblebox, just getting down to that 'super fine' screen, means likely having already broken up frags and green matter quite a bit.. in this case with the box, twice already.. not really how you wanna go about dry sifting.. as obviously we're dealing with extremely brittle pieces of microscopic material.

Personally, I don't freeze. I've never even tried it, lol.. I can imagine though if it's not done right, once that frozen trim hits room temp air it's going to wet up a bit and some of that resin is gonna get gummy. Maybe not. I have good success just drying it extremely well.

The dry ice thing.. it's so cold it's turning the stalks into instant candidates for breaking into a million pieces.. it's just gonna frag up.. which is what you want to try to avoid in most cases.

I actually do it by hand.. it's not a magic trick. The way I do it, though... it just works.. hard to explain. I don't just tap the screen.. i'm working it fairly decent for 30-40 seconds..

I went back to what I learned in kindergarten... strange as that sounds. It worked.

I think i get it. What about doing your process inside a huge walk in freezer lol jk. Then the temps never change! I heard if someone blasting wax inside a walk in freezer. Sounded like a death wish. Do you use actual buds or carefully removed and well dried sugar trim?

I have a walk-in at my disposal and don't use it.. if that says anything. I'd rather just do it in my living room with the tv on or something. Screw freezing.

I usually use good trim, and as few buds as possible. If they get in there, though.. not a biggie.

I've done batches of 'just buds' and the yield wasn't very good, and again.. it took forever to clean up once I got it.. just too many fragments created doing it that way.

Sure, you can do it.. but i'm over standing there for 40 minutes with a card in my hand.

Fragments arent what im after either.

Exactly. People always seem to forget that there are not only different sizes of glands, but different types of glands in the same mixture.. it matters.

And when you are fighting a losing battle to begin with, i.e. different glands which are already smaller and harder to harvest.. well...

Yeah. I just find it interesting that the same person claiming 'well we don't have tons of trim.. so we do this'.. is also the same person spending either a) their own time and money to grow said product, or b) buying it.

In either event.. I am highly against just destroying your actual bud in order to get a few hits of this stuff.. it's like friggin' crackheads fiendin' for a taste.. lol..

You guys are not getting anywhere just drop it. he is not going to tell any of us how its done . Sam is not going to tell us how its done.. leave it be. Im fine with what I produce. if nobody is willing to share there procedure on how to make this move on.. there better thing in life then to worry about some dude on the net that is not sharing his ideas. Im OK with that if fact I dont even find it that appealing to me. I love my bud more then kief..It helps me much much more then hash.BHO,WAX,Kief. Lets all get back to what we lov the most growing high quality cannabis..

I did just get his setup items out of him. I felt we were getting somewhere after all the bs. Kief can be awesome. I just think it takes a large enough screen with unmolested super dry material. The actual agitation he does is the only secret here. Which, honestly take your pick of ways i mean, tapping, shaking, leave the thing on top of a dryer or a washing machine. Theres a million ways.

Not sure why you think you aren't respected or why you'd even care. Irony is that you would get tons of respect as the guy who showed us the superior technique that made all the mysteries and machinery irrelevant.

-It was less than $30

that's the initial one off cost, right...or does it does cost $30 every time you do it?

You got 'some' of the items lol. You don't think a 61lpi screen is all i'm using, eh? ;)

The agitation doesn't really matter, to be honest.. and.. the lighter you try to do it.. like say with a card.. or barely touching it.. the worse it works. Strange I know.

And one of the other tricks involves not doing something that basically every single one of you are doing.. heh..

But again, like I said, I can't tell you what part.

Some things are better off unknown. Once everyone knows, the game is over. This is really the last unicorn that's yet to be tamed.

$30 initial investment, free for the rest of your life.

Drysiftwizard is right .......he posted more useful information in 3 days then most of us did in 3 years ...so lets experiment a bit with what he gave us .
( im telling you honestly ...if i was the keeper of the secret i would be teasing you way more then he is hahahahahahah).
post 114 ...another screan is needed ....again its not that the guy is not talking at all ...
outstanding work Drysiftwizard !!!!
btw...... my 2ç

Breaking up the material is probably a bad move for starters. Far more green material to pass through virtually any screen size then....so freezing it is bad too. I want to know more man, damn.

Yep..

The trick is what's funky with this process.. again.. it's something you're ALL doing.. and shouldn't be.

I have yet to see anyone else skipping this step on the internet.

Are you just setting screens on top of dehumidifier and letting it suck through for 30 seconds or so without carding or breaking it up?
