major score for our team, just what we needed, some plain truth from someone who is outside of the cannaculture
this may have some legs, perhaps even some MMJ hearings in the hallowed halls of our congress

When Dr Gupta wrote WHY I WOULD VOTE NO ON POT in Time magazine in 2009, http://spoonfeedin.blogspot.nl/2009/01/columnists-sanjay-guptawhy-i-would-vote.html
I was very disappointed that his words would influence many others to believe the many lies circulating about Cannabis. I honestly thought maybe his other medical opinions were just as shallow as his understanding of medical Cannabis. I was amazed at his turn around, it is seldom you see anyone so public with a open mind willing to see the truth when it is not what they believed to be the truth for so long. Dr. Sanjay Gupta now says we have been "systematically misled" on marijuana, I absolutely agree with him, and he apologizes for his part in the misleading. His special WEED will be on Sunday night Aug 11 CNN.
He will be jumped on by many people opposed to Cannabis, not because of the science and patients that helped changed his mind, but because their minds are already made up and Cannabis is just not medicine, end of story. I am happy to accept his apology and his conversion to the belief that Cannabis is a medicine to many patients, and that they deserve to be allowed to use their medicine without fear from the law. He also strongly supports research with Cannabis and explains why the present system is rigged against Cannabis by the US government.

I suspect this is a moment like about president Johnson, when Bill Moyers said "the president flipped off the set and said 'If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America." about Cronkites 1968 broadcast that the Vietnam War was unwinable.
Gupta is mainstream, if he is for medical Cannabis, the government has lost the middle class, and the war on Cannabis. They just have not admitted it yet.

Wow the guy who runs the Hills Center is out of his mind... what is he so high on that he cant even open his eyes? I am not trying to talk shit on anyone who has had to experience rehab, BUT... If you are in rehab for weed there are 2 reasons and 2 reasons alone.
1. You have been forced by overbearing family, or state requirement
2. You are weak minded and should never try anything that can alter your mind in any form, because your brain chemistry doesn't allow for you to be in control of the addictive effects (weak minded) these are the same people who rush to the hospital because they are "having a heart attack" from taking 3 puffs from a pipe.

got two threads goin, hehe, I want on both of em. I agree with Sam. I also think the problem for the oil is they'll have to have documented evidence moreso that just ancedontal evidence. Some MORE doctors are going to have to come forward and take a chance or not, I don't care if they do it in hididng, but document and publish some hard facts per the oil and what it actually does, not what it might be able to do, jmho.. Hasn't the only one been proved is for helping melanoma? Not exactly sure on that, I know there is a lot of evidense, but almost all ancedotal, the medical community has to have it hit em in the face to acknowledge it. Gupta is leading the charge.

its a good thing, the positive exposure, I believe he's a neurosurgeon and a professor of neurosurgery, so the TV Doc moniker is misleading, imo; and the interview pundits trying to pull up all the old adages per evil mj and he spoke explicity, imo, on Medical for medical purposes, moreso than like a bottle of booze. Rock on Medical Movement, Im still waitin to see how the "legal" states turn out, in street reality. He made the best points on medical while admitting to his own previous closemindedness that got everyone's attention. He even thru in the no overdose ever on mj, while many on booze, he made that point hit home hard also, imo. Overall, good exposure.

I dunno Sam, even though I can respect when a man recognizes that he has erred, this is actually unacceptable from a so-called professional of the medical field.

it means he never studied the subject of Cannabis properly, and as you comment, it might as well mean he does not know anything in general in regards medicine deeply and truly.

if he was just a guy changing his mind no involved in scientific studies of such delicate nature as medicine, it would be truly welcomed and appreciated, but considering his chosen area of study and his lack of independent critical thinking on scientific matters regarding cannabis, it leaves a lot to be desired.

now he'll just become an open target for these very reasons from the part of the prohibitionists, they will dismiss his views, since he spoke of something very strongly before he knew anything about.

very smart people in science, when they know they are not experts of certain subjects, they have no problem in carrying no flags and just expressing that they do not really know to make an educated comment; which is quite the opposite of what Gupta did.

I'd not want the likes of him to be checking my physical health; nor to start carrying the pro-cannabis flag.

if we here were able to discern the truth from the lies, why wouldn't he had been able, specially considering his credentials?

smells like mediocrity to me.

What nation sees a person dying every 19mins of opioid prescription pain killers? Which country is it in which a person is murdered every 17 minutes? A nation with cities that have higher murder rates than war torn Iraq? Or a nation in which a rape occurs every 6 minutes? A nation in which a violent crime occurs every 26.2 seconds and a property crime occurs every 3.5 seconds? A nation that comprises 5% of the world’s population but a world-leading 25% of the world’s prison population? And military arms spending @ $700Bil is more than all the rest of the world combined?

(You could still find many reasons to love the United States, failed War on Drugs and all, we could pretend the above facts are spurious...but they happen to be true )

* Texas now houses more than 152,000, compared with about 134,000 inmates in California, according to recent statistics from both PRISON systems. Florida was a distant third, with about 100,000 inmates as of June.A year ago, Texas had more than 156,000 prisoners in 111 state prisons. (California has population of 38mil & Texas 12mil less )

I just got done watching *Pot Moms* (the segment is about 11+ minutes), and it is EXCELLENT! They are all very mainstream respectable articulate women who made their case Very Well, and the fact that Piers Morgan is completely on board was helpful.

NOTE TO ALL out there who are having trouble convincing a wife or other loved one to accept our herb, Show them the video!

I used to detest Piers Morgan, guess i gotta let that go now....:)

still seems to me he wants to jump up the wagon. as he said cannabis is used for thousand of years and he just realizes it now?

what he said on the show the icmag people know already for years but nobody wanted to listen

he as a doctor should have shut up before saying anything he dont know for a fact at 2009.

ok now he turned around and is the all understanding guy on tv, please.....

he will be the first guy turning around and it will make him how many more million just because of it?

I cant stand those two faced people and i dont buy his lie for nothing
its about money and nothing else

why didnt he check other countries experience before saying NO to cannabis

his a doctor right? shut up

I welcome this debate. Although Gupta has said dumb things, and no matter what you personally think about him, he has got this long awaited debate rolling in full mode.

The propaganda machine is also in full swing. Small insignificant things often have snow balled and take on huge unintended consequence. History has shown happen that over and over.

Now one of the main arguments is that cannabis usage in teens causes irreversible brain damage. That all started by a stupid little study in GB that showed a high percentage of around 1600 psychotics said when interviewed they had started smoking weed in their teenage years. So they concluded weed use as teenagers was the a contributing cause? Wait...self medicating? Causation from that? Totally flawed conclusion.

Now that little study with it's flawed conclusion has snowballed into the widely held belief that weed use causes brain damage in teens. Whoa Nelly!

I just don't believe half the crap anyone says about cannabis these days and especially when they say "backed by science". It's ALL bullshit. Just like "Reefer Madness" was, just updated a little to fit the current propagandists demographic they are aiming at.

i do see an interesting post on another site, Holder is going to make some big statement on MMJ in the next day or so?
some mention rescheduling could be on the table, but that's just hearsay at the moment
but CNN is married to the us government/corporate inside, so this little special of theirs does suddenly smell a bit
not saying it's a bad smell(hopefully)

Well this news just came out: 'Mandatory minimum' sentences to end for many drug offenders "Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. plans to announce a federal policy shift to reduce penalties for low-level, nonviolent offenders and to ease prison overcrowding." Hey it's been a pretty good week already! :D

Also I saw the documentary Weed: "WEED" A Dr Sanjay Gupta Special, full episode

[iframe1]3fDrMal-qes[/iframe1]

Tried finding the program for a good while and didnt know weather itd be on at another time, another day, but it was listed on Directv as another program (Crimes of the Century or some shit) instead of 'WEED'...seems fishy to me but maybe subtle coincidence, if they didnt want people to see they'd just pull it completely right?
