cal-mag to nutes ratio with advanced nutrients

whats up guys. im growing chem strains and im having a problem with yellow streaks on the leaves during flower. i think this is happening because i keep my ppm pretty low at 4-500. im gonna start using sensi cal-mag and im tryin to find out what percentage of my ppm should be cal-mag. incase anyone wants to know im using ph perfect sensi 2 part and big bud/overdrive and my water comes outta the tap at 100 ppm. when i say 4-500 im not including the tap.

what I always do when adding cal/mg is keep where your at and add .5ml at a time upping it if necessary after a couple feeds. I never include cal/mg into PPM, as it will mess with your PPM, as remember PPM is a guess, it's not an absolute what's in the solution, that can only be known if the label is 100% correct, and you do math to figure out what elemental PPM is exactly in your water.. or you can get it tested.

like 100 ppm of your tap is not 100 ppm of cal and Mg, there's other crap in there

also remember, different companies have different ratios of cal / mg, and each one has different amounts of N ( which I think is totally un-necessary, but I think they use cal nitrate to get the Ca ??? ) . not sure on the AN one, but GH has very low N in there's ( calimagic )


sounds like you might just need some epsoms salts though ( mag / sulfur ) as Ca is spotting, also have rarely ever seen a Ca def. bottles usually always have enough ( not saying optimal ) but always lower Mg.

thanks for the response. im talkin about advanced nutrients sensi cal bloom. im just tryin to get a ballpark on what it should be. if im at 500ppm + 100 ppm tap water.. if 50 of that ppm is sensi cal is that enough you think or should i go 100?

you shouldnt really need it as they tell you to use this stuff with RO water which wont have anything at all in it.

where like of canna assume u are using tap water with a little micro nutes coming from the tap water

Also 100ml of A&B sounds alot.

1 Gallon = 4.5 litres (sorry from UK we use Litres!)

Try using 2ml a Litre A&B an 1ml litre for the additives. An build from there as i dont know what stage your plants are at or size.

thats exactly what i do i dont mean by the gal im just talkin about ratios. thanks your probably right. i found out my ph was outta wack too last crop so its probably that. i think because im running such low ppm's the ph starts to drift up after topping off for a while. with the ph perfect advanced nutrients says that as long as your ph is below like 8.5 than everything should be fine because everything is chelated. i think there full of shit now that this happened plus theres additives involved that might not be chelated. i never have this problem with my res's in my mother room because they stay at a higher ppm at 600. ph is always 5.6-6.2 for weeks in a row after topping off multiple times. in my flower room its not staying stable though at 400 ppm. i found out my ph was at 7 we'll into my flowered crop last crop so now i know to check on it everyday to make sure its on point. appreciate your input

if your using advance nute dont worry about your PH. i know sounds silly i still check mine daily with growing for few years having to ph up an down with canna nutrients.

i let mine drift right up to 6.7 an the ladies stay happy. if there happy its fine.

this happened to me when i wasnt using RO water plants still grew fine since i change to RO water the ph stays in range.

if i was u go get an RO system cost around £80 well worth the cash.

as u then know whats in the water as u have added it yourself
