Considering this is a series of shelves, I would recommend using the water pump for a top feed drip kind of setup, and have the runoff gravity-fed to a collection tub. What might work real well for that setup you already have there are those rockwool slab trays they sell at the hydro shops. But any long trays should work for you.

Fill a tray with perlite, set the plants on top, fill the tray with water, let the perlite absorb it then fill it again and keep it topped off.

Maintaining 75 moms is almost more fun than I can handle, lol. At any given time, we will have 30-40, and even that is almost too overwhelming.

I will take a pic tonight when my lights turn on. the blumats take no electricity you just need your rez 2 ft above the blumats for correct pressure. I run all my moms in 2 gallon smart pots with the blumats. every month it takes me 2 hrs to run 25 and set to get a new run ready, sure beat being on your knees watering and having your arms smelling great and sticky. here is the official blumat thread.https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=111046

I run nutes in my rez use a small water pump with filter to catch slime, h2o2 and drip clean is a must too.

here is what a blumat looks like, you would need the blumat jr. they don't have the driper line, they feed through the ceramic spike. they are for 6 in pots and smaller. I run 2 or 3 gallon smart pots with one dripper, if you go any bigger than 3 you gotta add more drippers. I personally love them.

so i guess you got some of these from dispensaries? how did you make sure they were clean? they look really healthy for the cramped conditions. i'm amazed that you didnt get any bugs along with some of those specimens.

Yes, many came from dispensaries.

I had a thrips issue:

Mosquito dunks... then sulfur..

then some pyrythrium mix that a grower friend had access to..

No more thrips.

If you ever get thrips again, try spinosad (Captian Jack's Dead Bug Brew or Conserve) it's probably the most effective on thrips. And, its OMRI and Cheap!

With the rez and pump that you have, have you considered an ebb & flow system?
You could build your own table or get one for $50 or so.
3' x 3' with 4" pots would work.
I would suggest a good coco like bcuzz, with H3AD's formula. 6/9.
Flooding 2-4 x's a day.
As SoF said, T-5's would be good.
Good Luck.

edit*
You can run the hydroton in the 4" too. You'll just have to flood it a lot more often than the coco.

Get a cement mixing tub it's a perfect 2x4 some ebb and flow fittings and for about 18 dollars you solved your problem. It takes alot of damn work and CASH to take care of 75 ladys some understand this is just the beginning but ebb and flow is what you want imho.

Have A Great Day

I have done it before with decent results just by adding the water to the containers saucer and letting it wick up from the bottom. Tends to concentrate the root mass towards the bottom, but had no real issues.

Not done it with weed 'yet'. Used nylon twisted 'chalk line' for/with African Violets....

1 string for dixie cup size, two or more the larger the pots get. Use a tray with a stepped inset, and cut up the grill cover for the old 2'x4' flouro fixtures.

Drop the strings through the 'grill' into the water. (caution; salts will build up using synthetic nutes, requiring topwatering to flush it down and out.)

As with most plants a wet dry cycle is desirable to prevent root rot. If one gets too much water pull the wick up and out of the water for a bit of drying.

That said; I'm considering using small 'smart pot' knock offs to see if the roots will self prune.... maybe using perlite under the bags as a wicking medium????

Do not use cotton for wicks as it will rot off! Also nylon will mineral up and need replacement too. So leave the upper end of the 'wick' sticking out of the soil, so you can tie onto it and pull a new 'wick' into place....

Using the wet tub method, will work as well I'm sure. Just don't keep their feet in the water too long... let it go dry preferrably at least every 2-3 days. And Do flush to drain every so often as well.

I'm experimenting myself so thx for letting me use ya'll as a sounding board.
