Hugo Blocks

So I have recently switched to Hugo blocks and so far love them, but have noticed with one particular strain, there are zero roots popping out of the bottoms. The plants are healthy, just vegging slow. Is there a trick to hand watering these cubes? All the other strains have gone nuts, though I did kill off some of the others roots by letting them sit in water too long. I think I may make my veg room a drip system too.

How old are they?
I wouldnt worry at all about em. Just give them time.
You should def start a drip system though its a pain to hand water RW. Are you completing the whole grow in the HUGO?

I am doing the whole grow in HUGO blocks, I have some about 1 wk in and they look amazing....thick thick white roots perky and growing wicked fast. Here are some pics of the sad ones and a pic of the happy ones in veg. I think it's honestly overwatering.

First one is about 14" and super perky and happy....the last few are tiny ( they are topped) but in comparison they should be a good bit taller. I always overwater rock wool. The leaf curl is my clue. Thoughts?

i knew people in CO who double stacked hugos on a dripper system and put them in saucers and would water til it filled the saucers and let the plants drink off the saucer then repeat. 3 per 2k in scrog in 4x8 scrog and 2lb plus

I'm still not sure if I am ovewatering that one table. Today they felt light so I gave them a small drink, but they are def. looking worse.

How often are you watering?
I suggest you give them more root grow room when they pop out.
The burning is getting worse or are they drooping dis-formed leaves?

Slow growth and the pic on the way right looks like overwatering to me. Lower the water to like once a day id even let them not get water for a full day than slowly start up again. dont drench them when you water either.

It's just odd because the blocks don't feel super wet. Maybe it's just a slow vegging as well. I think I will just not water until they are almost bone dry and see how they fair.

I have hugo 6inch rockwool and it seems to me that watering twice is too much and cause leaves to die off caused by yellow spotting.I think the hugo blocks hold way more water capacity and were treating them like 4 inch cubes cause that what im used to growing in. try letting your cubes go without water for a few days and see what happens K.

Also get block covers asap!!! It could also be your cubes are being overtaken by algae growth ,Green growth on top of cubes. In which case to kill said algae you need to dry out your cubes and then get block covers asap.water less and your money yo.The algae growth will completely block the up take all together of the nutrients.Algae cannot grow without water.
