Nice man :) Hopefully it's good smoke! I've heard it's a really popular strain in Holland. I like how it can grow as a sativa too. I'm hoping the high is an indica type body stone. The other good thing about WW is that it looks pretty forgiving to grow. I'm really happy with Nirvana's seeds, I'll buy from them again any day of the week. Having 2/2 germinate in a day is excellent!

killer setup, I like your DIY style ;)

I wanted to ask ya, when you do the switch to 12/12 you change immediately to the flowering tea? or you wait a couple days? and do you put veg ferts in the first flowering tea?

have a nice grow :tiphat:

Hey man :) Yeah That's pretty much what I am planning on doing! It's a first for me, too. Basically, I used the Canna grow guide to construct a nutrient schedule. In their nutrient schedule, they show a transition period between veg and flower, where a 12/12 light regime is in place and the plants are fed veg nutrients.

In my last grow, I had a large amount of veg-like growth in the first two weeks of the flower phase. So it makes sense to feed the plant nutrients at a ratio which will allow them to excel.

So, my guess is that the initial stretch may be a bit harder than my last grow. As I'm growing a sativa dominate mix strain, I think I should flip to 12/12 when my screen is 75% full.

Hey Jeorge, I've been giving your grow a read, your outdoors plants look phenomenal :D I've got some answers for some of the questions in English. Will have a look after this.

Last night, I placed my seedlings in the system. :D I'm feeding CANNA nutrients at 1/3 strength, with Phythoff (chlorine additive) also in the tank. I am foliar applying Sealsol (Seaweed concentrate) and CANNA Rhizotonic. Pythoff is similar to hydrogen peroxide, in that it can't be run with beneficials or organics.

I prepared the system by: (in order)
-Cleaning the system with hot water and a very weak bleach solution. By weak, 1/2 cap of bleach to 10 litres of hot water.
- Dry, then mist with rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
- All hoses and air stones are replaced
- Soaking hydroton in 1 part vinegar to 1 part water for 24 hours
- Boiling the hydroton for 30 mins
- Running plain water through the system, including medium, for 24 hours
- Flushing with fresh water

I had a small incident with root rot in my previous grow. I managed to beat it, however I'd prefer to be cautious and replace hoses.

I highly recommend boiling hydroton and then soaking it in vinegar. I actually don't recommend it as a medium, at all. But, I have tons of the stuff, and it needs to be used. So, why not use it?

My first experience with it, I found It made the water alkaline. I would set the pH at 5 and it would climb to 8 over night. This is because, if the clay balls have been sitting from long periods of time, they regain cation exchange capacity.

In soil, the negatively charged surfaces of clay particles are attracted to positively charged cations. Cations include chemicals such as sodium, magnesium and potassium. These are also nutrients. It's a rather simplistic way of viewing it, but think of the nutrients as 'holding the soil particles together. Think of sand, which has no clay particles in it, and think of how the grains fall through your fingers.

So basically, one or more alkaline chemicals were attracted to the surface of my clay balls. So when I dropped the medium in the system, it raised the pH considerably. Soaking in vinegar cures this. The boiling is to kill any organisms who've made your balls their home. It's a bit tedious, and that's why I recommend other mediums.

The seedlings are migrated into the system over a number of days. I try to move slowly and sequentially. I adjust things one at a time, with a two day gap in between. Reason being, if the plant doesn't like a parameter change I've made, it should let me know in a day or two.

At the start of a grow, I think with parameters like light intensity and nutrient strength ... less is more!

Great thread

I am new to rdwc and am very impressed with yields I have heard reported. My system has exceeded my expectations so far. Good luck I'll be watching.
