low yeild on bubble hash run WHY?

recently i did two seperate runs of some trim i was able to get my hands on. the trim wasnt the best as i got it off a street connection so it had been dry for a while and some was a little broken up already. i did 2 runs 2 oz each(i got 2 oz of one strain and 2oz of another) on the first run i got 6.3 grams about 11%the second batch i ran 2 oz as well and got 5.5 grams 10% witch was disapointing.i know these resulsts are on the low scale of whats normal but still average.the second run trim seemed better because it had a few buds in it so i was expecting a bigger yeild than the first, but i got a lower yeild. each run i filtered the water and beat it a little inbetween 5 times through the bags. i kept my water from the run and let all the ice melt with the trim overnight into a bucket. i could clearly see a decent amount of triches in the water i ran it through jus the 25 bag jus because i was being lazy and i got a nice spoonful from it.so more or less what im saying is what would cause those trichs to pass through the filter 5 times and not get caught? but get caught the next day? i hear of people only doing 2-3 runs and getting good results why do i have to do 5 runs and im still having trichs still in the water?

i understand that yield is determined not only by your technique but your starting material plays the biggest role. my material wasnt off the best strain nor was it processed in the ideal manner but i know there is trichs i missed especially when i seen all those trichs in the water. any ideas or tips how to do a more efficient run?

you ve gotten a good yeild ,, not sure what your worried about,
the more you beat the lesser the grade man,

more isnt better ...

sounded like you sourced some junk off the street and still want a yeild beyond what most of us get ????

like i said i understand that average yeilds for trim are 10-15% and i understand my material wasnt the best as i live in a place where cannabis is illegal and no real medical program so the only way i can get shake is take the risk and cultivate or i get it off whoever has the link so im limited to the material i can get. all of my material was sugar leaves from close to the buds no fan leaves and i had accepted my yeild it wasnt until i ran the water that melted out of the work bag into a bucket overnight. i did get more hash witch made me think about how much i lost from dumping the inital water from the run. so i know theres only so much trichs on the material and anything else that makes it through is a contaminant that is not wanted i just feel like i missed some trichs in the process

Shoulda blasted tane... Higher yield's even leaving the stalk's behind... There's a reason it's such a craze... I got a brand new set of bubblebag's unused, and probably won't until I can get LB's...

i dunno about numbers as much as i know about quality ,
forget about numbers man ,
it seems to be causing a problem
also 15% yeild ,, must be wet weight , or full of green matter ,
its quality man ,
dont worry about what folks say you "should be getting"
they likely have no idea ,
numbers are easy to toss round ...

i use bud when i make hash,
and i dont expect to get 10% of tokeable product,
i get what i get and im happy with the quality ...
is the yeild so important to you over the quality??

gotta think to oneself ,
if water has passed through a 25 micron bag,
then does it now have any larger material,
im thinking no ...

ive happily drained out my water as its been come through the last bag,
why is it of further use once passed through the smallest bag,
the remaining material must be left at the source right???

imo, there is a big difference between running sugar trim and running buds when making bubble hash.

Sugar trim is small flat leaves with trichs on one side. The trichs are very accessible to getting knocked off by the ice edges. The leaf is small and doesn't 'trap' trichs.

Buds are compact, even when wet, and they are connected to the stem/small stems. Trichs are inside the bud and aren't very accessible to the ice. The buds can also 'trap' loose trichs in the bud itself. The bud has to keep getting broken up or 'opened' in order for the ice edges to knock the trichs off.

imo, this is why people that run buds when making bubble hash can do multiple runs and still get good returns from each run vs a quickly diminishing return from multiple runs with sugar trim.

If you are getting 10% and its mostly full melt that's awesome. If you get 10% and its doesn't melt, I would suggest poor material, or over mixing. Peace GS
