Hello growers, this is my first post and I've been planning an SOG grow for a while. Without using a 1000w hps (mainly bc of temp. issues) what wattage of hps lights would you recommend and how many of them. Thanks

If you wrap the walls in mylar and use the right reflector, you can use (1) 600 watt to achieve 40 Watts per Square Foot which is basically on the low end. I like to be closer to 40 Watts / Square Foot.

go 2 600 watt air cooled hoods or 1000 watt air cooled hood with XXL reflector. more light the better. grab a 1000 watt and dial it down so you can run whatever wattage you want. I got 2k in a 4x8 tent with air cooled hoods and vent the heat to the attic. my babies stay between 72-76 when my room stays 70.

there is a predator hood that holds 2 bulbs and Is about 3 ft long. that would be perfect for that space with 2 600 watts in there.
