The only brix I've been measuring has been the bricks I've been shitting seeing this year's crop here. Joking aside, I've been running a modified version of the old brix mix, and while I'm without refractometer - the plants appear to noticeably respond.

I was taking brix readings earlier in the season. The highest reading I got was on a 5g's red plant that read 21. Since I haven't been able to squeeze enough juice out of my leafs to get a reading, which tells me my brix is still very high. Higher amounts of brix = more sugar = harder to extract a sample.

Do you have a leaf squeezer that is sold in the same section as the refractometer? It was very difficult to get juice out of my leaves any other way. I had to squeeze, fold, and repeat until i had a patty of crushed leaf that had enough juice for a drop or two.

Hash Man....could you share that link for the leaf squeezer. I hate having to use my Champion juicer and so many leaves unless it's headed for a smoothy afterwards.

Madjag, go back a couple pages - I think someone here was wondering where you had gone. I know I just saw someone pondering it.

I hear that man, cleaning juicers is hard work sometimes. I use a hurom slow juicer, but not for herb.

I went to grab my "leaf juicer" that came with my refractometer, and its just a pair of vice grips. Take a leaf or two rub it together in your hands until it s a small ball and this will help facilitate the process. I can get a drop or two out of this and have to repeat if necessary to get enough sample to test. Here is what peacefulvalley has to say about brix.

Notice how it says to take brix readings at the same time of day because the brix levels change throughout the day. This variable needs to be taken into account if we are all comparing brix readings.
Another couple pics from this morning. The dieselrella is getting massive. I have some 7 foot remesh sittng next to my 1.5 foot tall pots to see how big she is really getting. I ran some hygrozyme through my fertigation setup and the are loving life. I have ben watching a few stubborn leaves that wouldnt perk up on a plant or two- they are perky now.

Hey, i used to be all about cold water bubble hash, but i have a new toy now. This year I will be turning anything that gets me a 25% return into wax and shatter. Head nugs included. Before anyone bags on me for making "nasty bho", check out greywolfs white shatter, and more specifically and incredible- Father Earths ethanol purged bho wax.

Good on ya Hash Man. Looks like you are doing BHO right. This is what i have been thinking about too. This year i intend on trimming and bagging buds but i have been doing some thinking and considering turning the entire crop next year into concentrates.

Thats what we are doing now. :) The future of cannabis is in concentrates.
The one thing in short supply all over the map, OIL. Demand has never been greater and getting trendier every day.
Dab this dab that, yabba dabba goo, abrah ca Dab brah,
just dab it, a dab will do ya. If it doesnt shatter it doesnt matter,etc.. lol Since GW hit the scene with an affordable recirculating system its taken something that was once expensive to make and litterally gotten it to pennies per gram to process. Not only that, yields are higher and it makes a waaay cleaner product with ease. Hats off to GrayWolf for empowering the people with the gift of the Terpenator, way to pay it forward brother. :thank you:

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Someone hit us with some BIG plant pics please :)

With Respect,

So some of you guys are saying to up the nitrogen right now, but dave royal over at EWF is saying to ease into it with balanced NPK...any thoughts?

Anyone still running PPD foliars and when do you plan do keep doing it until?

My buddy just got his crop pulled by guys jumping out of a helicopter. He/she grows on a very large property and has more plots, but the fuzz landed and took 100 light dep plants he/she was planning on harvesting very soon. Anybody else heard of this happening this year? O yea, the fuzz didn't even try to look or arrest anybody, just took the plants.

I have heard a rumor that the cops are now just taking the weed and redistributing it through the jail system. If you think about it, before they would burn the entire crop on the scene. Now they take it with them. They did it before with Coke during the 70's and 80's, why not pot today?

I will throw my two cents in, but I want to see some other replies first.

I bet that Veg guy is crushing it about now...Anybody besides Hashman got current brix meter readings?

Bountiful harvest blessings, big plant folks,

14.5-17
I wish I would have taken a reading before foliar with the aminos and Ca25. If 14.5 is the lowest I can find in the garden I'm not disappointed.

Did they not take his full season plants? State leo?

I'm hesitant to go full on with the Nitrogen right now as my soil isn't exactly where I want it to be as far as the minerals go. In other words, I want the tissue thats forming now to be as sturdy as possible.

Hey I really don't like the ppd. I am all over the fancy fish, a liquid salmon hydrolysate. I am going to do one more foliar of fish, neem, and silica. I mentioned hitting them hard with nitrogen in late july, i wouldn't recommend it much later than week 2 of august, depending on your plants needs. If you have any nitrogen needs, then now is the time to supply it. If your plant is a healthy shade of green with no excessive yellowing anywhere, by all means, roll into flower with a balanced diet and healthy load of enzymes.

thanks...most of my plant are full green and healthy, but i do have a few that are showing yellowing which has me worried...definately gotta spot treat those with some dynagrow or PPD.

what are any adverse effects of too much N in early flower? im real tempted to hit them hard because i want them to get a real healthy vigorous stretch. im thinking about using some PBP grow because its 3-2-4 so not too much N...and has a few PK for the upcoming flower boost.

would love to hear some other thoughts about what other folks are feeding their plants during this crucial transition period.

OB what county was that in? was he present at the property and have scripts? i could only see that happening if no one was around and there werent any scripts posted...and if there werent any house, cars, or signs of anyone living there. also i figure anything over 100 is green light for them to swoop in...

Myeeeep, here comes the stretch! Went out today and what would be bud sites on a less branchy plant have also started to extend and branch out themselves. I'll be hitting her with barley sprout tea tomorrow, looking forward to seeing where this girl ends up stretching too.

It might be time to start pondering trellising. I thought she'd be strong enough to do without, but seeing the tertiary branching today changed my mind.
