Congo Influences?????

Congo Influences?????

Having grown a version of Congo (Ace's) and my own Congo hybrids in the past...I can see a bit of its influences in these flowers

To me...although they are much smaller and denser...than the Congo hybrid expressions I grew...the way the flowers stack...is an indicator of the african influences

The rest of the plant...is all Deep Chunk....an indica finish time..fat indica leaves...resin production is more indica than sativa so...
kind of the better of both worlds

* although I do not consider this plant a heavy yielder....she will still outproduce her sister.

** Like all my plants...she was bottom fed...and is being bottom flushed with Clearex added to every flushing. I do feel that using an additive (sucrose and glucose makes up over 90% of Clearex) to help use up/wash out the salts...is probably...imperative if flushing from he bottom...and producing no run off.

The salts...more or less..get pushed to the surface of the coco..where there are no roots...to pick them up. It works out well...but there is a learning curve. I've found that I need to start flush earlier...than I normally would...if I was flushing from top to bottom. The plants need the extra time to use up the nutrients.

Some plants flush really quick (like this one)....and some do not (like her sister)....so you kind of...need to be able to read your expressions.

The bottom feeding style is fascinating. I would guess that, as these things go, you expend a lot less nutrients overall. Nice style..

I'm still perfecting it...but it's lazy gardener friendly. I use round trays..I think they fit 7gal smart pots perfectly..so my 5gal pots have extra space...then it's only a matter of filling the trays to the rim.

Sometimes the bottoms of the trays..dry out..although I like to see them kept wet. I flood those things until..they hold water..and even then..the top of the coco stays dry.

I've not had (knock on wood) any trouble with root aphids or really any other pests...since switching over to full on bottom feeding and Biobizz coco. I like the better quality coco...no more cheap blocks..I'm liking the Biobizz. I get a good break on it...at my shop..as the shit is pricey.

* correct on the nutrients...they seem to linger longer...and that's the biggest learning curve. Have to have a light hand...go into flush at the 1st sign of ripening...starting in on the Clearex (going to experiment with different brands). Once flush starts...the Clearex seems to make everything available..as it pushes the excess salts up....and the plants go into a feeding frenzy..then start to come down (ideally)...

Light on nutrients...hit flush fast..that's what I've learned thus far. I picture 60-70 day plant expressions like a drag race...get out of the box...don't spin out on the launch...keep it straight...slam it for all it's worth...let off at the finish...cool her down

Harvested the Deep Congo F4

Harvested the Deep Congo F4

Day 57....still pushing out new growth...but mostly..not. She slowed way down

* The wall where this plant stood...is now filled with Satechism IX1 (Casey Jones X Blue Satellite 2.2)

so...I have a wall of SFV OG Kush X Blue Satellite 2.2 IX1 (2 plants) on one wall...and the Satechism IX1 (2 plants) on another...facing each other

The OG X 2.2 are around 3 wks in....and the Satechism are around 2 wks in. Should be a pretty good shoot out.

The OG X 2.2 are trained into the wall mounted trellis...and the Satechism are trained from the rafters.

The plants sit in front of a vertical 1000 HPS and a vertical 600 HPS

Tales of 2 Walls

Tales of 2 Walls

Here's a look a the 2 SFV OG Kush X Blue Satellite 2.2 IX1

^ I looked...they are on day 28 (beginning wk 4).....whop whop whop...bushed out..keeping me busy in twine and trellis...they are heavily tied down/back...and must be retied every few days. Now with the end of stretch..I expect they will settle soon..into heavy flower making. Anyways...I've got them where I want them

A look at the 2 Satechism IX1 (Casey Jones X BS 2.2)

Day 13. Freshly moved into their positions...twined off from above. They have some huge fan leaves....very vigorous expressions. Just hitting into stretch...I'm already seeing the need for constant tying...for at least...the next 2 wks. These things are gearing up to rumble...quivering with power

* added to the flower studio this morning...the Queen Mox clone and Strange Days

Strange Days = Blue Moonshine X Blue Satellite 2.2

** I used the same Blue Satellite 2.2 males to make both Satechism and Strange Days. They are related that way.

*** In Satechism and Strange Days...you dudes will get another look at why I enjoyed using the 2.2 in outcrosses....or maybe not...fuck...I don't know. Chances are pretty good for premium expressions...if I had to gamble...I'd bet on them

Oh man, I'm going to have to pick up some more BS 2.2's to find a male for the SFV clone I just had given to me.That plant on the trellis is going to be loaded...I bet the smell and taste will be premium!:)

Dude you must have the best collection of plants. What a mad man.

The next couple months for me...seems to have a Satellite theme going...just happened that way...as all these plants..I'm now flowering..were survivors of the spring seedling plague. I was germinating so many beans...to get so few plants...handful after handful...cross after cross...whatever would manage to live...is what we'll see.

They were the toughest ones..where others wilted..collapsed...they pulled it off. Makes you wonder if the BS 2.2 added something to their will. Probably not..but still...I ended up with three 2.2 outcrosses...just hit me now

What's up with the Hell Mox Project?

What's up with the Hell Mox Project?

It's coming along. Unlike the plague of spring...it seems now...the curse has been lifted...sprouts and young seedlings alike...have no issues

The Mox Mox IX1 were started ahead of the Hell Hound IX1. I have comfortable numbers to work with.

Here's some typical plants...on the rigth is the Mox Mox..on the left is the Hell Hound

* All the Mox Mox IX1 beans came from the Oueen Mox mom

** All the Hell Hound IX1 beans came from moms from the Kush side

Onto a different subject : Red Krox

Red Krox = Red Kali Most F5 X Mox Krox

Mox Krox = Mox Mox X Grape Krush

Mox Mox= Chem DD X TFlux

TFlux = Original Flo X Chem DD

^ lol who the fuck reads this shit???

Anyway...I didn't have many Red Krox..started with 13..whittled down to 4...and out of 4...I have 1 female. There may be one more..

^ I topped her and transplanted her into a 1.7 gal square...veg her for a while in that....then into a 5 gal smart pot.

* I'm going to be a dick. Once I start flower...if she looks like she'll want to go 90 days+....I'll cull her. Zero tolerance on 90+ day expressions. I don't do 90

** Not breeding this plant...fun run only

lol,i read it! not that i have ever been able to retain any of it,but it always reminds me where in the story we are....sort of a genetic "what has gone on before" chapter...

it was your water...something changed after the rains started coming...thats my theory...

wait....did you just use the word fun and run in the same sentence? i must have read that wrong...

deep congo f4

deep congo f4

jericho nice job on those selections.

i can smell them from here.
try burning one in a room and then come back later and smell,
kinda like an exotic incense i find.
i have some nice males up in the swamp for this summers back to the congo project.
cheers, richard

You must be the only one. I keep writing it all out...so I don't forget what I did. With the blended pollens it's getting more blurry by the cross. Hell Mox will be made with blended pollen...so hey man...I'm staying in my un-exactness vision

I think water...as well. I hope to never go through that again. Seeing all that death...much of it my own work...was heart wrenching. I became bitter...before I became balance again. Quite a lesson...never count on anything

Breaking News: I'm down...not working and not running. That's why you are seeing me here. I'm having a issue in the ass...prep H kind of problem. Fucking hurts..lol...amazing how many nerve endings collect there. All the running on top of all the heavy lifting (my property project)...has caused a stress. I'm down for a few days

Thanks man. Keep me in the loop on your progress..and any beans you may make.

* I've been vaping the 1st plant...and true...it has a distinct taste and aroma. You can smell it...when you walk in the room.

** The 2nd plant...I think is a better plant expression. She's going to hang for a few days...then I'll update with some manicure pix. Strong smelling expression...much like her sister.

All the props in the world...from me to you....for the Deep Congo creation.

I can't help myself...I love these girls so much...I'm showing them again

^ Hell Hound IX1 S1 "Vine Expressions" on day 40. I've been pumping them with Phosphorus for a week...they are responding well to it. I'm not thinking they'll see 70 days...I'm seeing them more around 60-65....so...I'm going to gage my feeding for that time frame. Put in enough P...then start flush...maybe in the late 40's....60 day window...with 65 being the late harvest

These plants love the hell out of me. Odessa flower structure..on majorly flimsy branches. If the branches were not wired off to the rafters...they'd be hanging to the floor. They smell foul...reek of funk

The "Vine" expressions in Hell Hound are one of my all time...favorites. They are speedy...paranoia inducing..thumper highs..with a wonderful come down. Once you get straight with the speed...the high draws you in. Great running herb..and why I find it so desirable. The stuff makes me sweat.

Hell Hound = Odessa IX1 X OG Jam or OG Jam X Odessa IX1

Odessa = Casey Jones X Cindy Jones

Cindy Jones = Casey Jones X C99 BX

OG Jam = SFV OG Kush x Ghost OG Kush X Ghost OG Kush

* The self beans came from last fall/winter's Hell Hound IX1 run.

** Both plants showed minor intersex in wk 3. Typical....down low..just like...the kind that made the seeds.

*** A plant that shows intersex...down low...in early flower....I deem favorable. The pollen mostly stays contained to the bottom flowers...and obviously...the beans can produce some replica-like expressions...for the next run. I think of them as a bonus.

In this case...I'm getting to see some killer "vines"...which I know from experience...will produce my desired resin profiles...desired head effects. If there are any beans made on these plants...I'll be sure to keep them. It's a direct pathway to success

I got my 8' stakes delivered for my tomatoes...but I'm not in the best condition to put them in. I'm taking it easy.

Back in the spring...I cut 5yrs worth of hair off...yesterday I got bored..and shaved my head..that's about where I am

Cold August Morning

Cold August Morning

On day 35. Spice of Life's OG X BS 2.2 (in the 2nd generation)

^ 2 sisters. The plant on the right is developing quicker and reeks of freshly sliced Ruby Red Grapefruit. That aroma in which...many of us...find highly desirable.

The plant on the left...has a twinge of citrus over funk. Mild at the moment.

Both are vigorous..lots of branches...lots of flowers...JAMMIN'

Below is a picture of one of their 5 gal smart pots...with its tray filled with feed (starting P loading)

^ The trays sometimes dry out...but don't stay that way for long..as I like to...keep them wet. Depends on where the plants are as well...you can simply say...I mess around..experimenting with feeding tactics..room temps/rh can factor in...such a dry but fluxing environment. Sometimes hot...sometimes much cooler........fuck..guess you would have be in my studios...to understand the whole scenario

Started the Hell Hound IX1S1 sisters into flush yesterday...day 45

^ I kept their trays filled with water and Clearex. The Clearex was mixed in at 15 mils to the gallon. Today I just topped their trays off with Clearex at 30 mils to the gallon. I'm not adjusting pH but it is acidic.

I'll go heavy or light on the Clearex...depending on how I see the plants flowing...but the way I see it

the sugar is acid...coming in from the bottom...pushing up into the coco medium...breaking down the salts..and pushing residual to the top and into the smart pot fabric (you can visually see it). The key is to keep the medium constantly pressurized so that everything gets pushed up and outwards

The 1st week...the plants will go on a major feeding binge..the 2nd week it they will slow down as food salts break down/get used up. Coco pH seems to stay within range at least for the 1st flush week salts blending with sugars..and after that..I don't care anyway.

* bottom feeding their entire lifespans in the pots...without any run off...appears to keep a stash of food in the coco. Feeding light is probably very important.

harvest 60-65 days give take a couple days on either end

They make me gag a little...with the 1st full whiff of the session. After that initial reflex...my next one is to...bury my nose in their flowers. Amazing plants...makes me want to grow fields of them. I'm so happy with them...seems to be a total understanding between us...they love to live
