2k stacked or side by side?

I have a room that is 7hx7wx6h room. should i stack the bulbs with the 6 foot ceiling or would running them side by side. 6 to 8 week veg coir hand water in the beginning then when the roots have fill in switch to DTW on timer for multiple feeds. This will be a mono crop of 6 ak47 clones that have a regular to medium stretch, this is why I'm vegging longer. Umm..two gallon pots should work for this? I'll also be training to individual screens. This room is in a basement that stays cool at 55 degrees and i also have an ac if need be.

I'll be running a 1khps and 1 mh but veg with the MH only. FanScrubber out the top and passive intake. I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

Thanks everybody. This will be the biggest thing I've done and I need some advise.

This is genuine, please don't flame me:moon:

Also, optimal screen size suggestions would be great and donut circumference (if bulbs are stacked) in my 7x7x6 room. Thanks again, as this begins I will get some pictures to share;)

yeah i doubt you will need an ac if it stays at 55* hah. more like some insulation as too not loose all the heat off that bulb. and you will need to be very proactive on the training in order to fit them with a suitable space between ur lights n tops

The room is well insulated. I guess I'll set up the light and fans then start dialing from there. Should I use a heater on the outside and run less light?

you will need a heater for lights out if you are@55°. if it's well insulated.com use as much light as you can and maybe you can trap some heat for when the lights go off. my best dialed room is 68 lights out 78 lights on. you'll want to keep humidity in check of course. you'll have to veg the plants up big if you are going to stack those 1000's seven plants would work better with the two lights side by side.
one would be lit up on all sides.com no need to screen that one. are you legally only able to run 6?

Ok, I see. Cutting down veg time would be great, I'm not limited to 6 I actually have 8 that shot out roots a few days ago so running seven like the diagram above is possible. Should I veg with the with lower wattage? Maybe 2 400 watt mh? I already have the 2 400s and a 1k Ill have to buy another 1k for flower. Also thinking about building another room to grow in on the warmer side of the basement, not as stealth but....:dunno: it will have to be the same size, Controlling temp should be easier though..

vegging under the 400 watters is fine, in fact that's exactly what I veg under at my home base. if you have 8 clones ready to go, you could either do two four plant donuts or, if you don't want to buy another light right yet, just do one eight plant donut. you could veg the eight clones you have up to about 20-24 inches and arrange them around a single 1000 watt and flower em out. this way you can get a harvest under your belt without buying anything else. you can see how your pants will stretch and how long they will flower and you can start dialing your environment. just remember that you don't want the plants the choke one another out competing for light. with the single light it will be easier to move the plants back making the donut bigger if the plants stretch in to each other. my first grow was an 8 plant donut a arounda 1000. I learned a lot that first crop about my strain and environment. I now run many more lights and several more strains.... I'm still learning, still dialing. good luck with the grow, be patient and expect set backs. this is an awesome place to ask for advice and learn from seasoned growers.

Well right now I have 3 jack herrer clones that were switch over a few days ago. Dude said they stetch and go for 80days. Im shaping the plants around the 1k, vegged for 3 weeks around a 400wattmh. I'm shooting for 3oz per but I'll be happy with whatever I get.. these plants don't seem to like the cooler temps but they still look good. I bought a small heater so I'll be plugging that up tonight. I just hate growing vertical in a 4x4 tent. I want something bigger.

I would think that 1 thousand would work well in that size space. if you really want 2k in there i would run them side by side not stacked. tack some chicken wire on the walls and train them back well during veg and flower to improve your yield.

i see some stacked set ups that kill it here but some look like they are wasting light to me.

I think in a room as small as yours you will have trouble getting in the room to do the needed fan leaf removal in flower if you run 2k but you could kill it if you don't mind crawling around getting sticky and burned.

with 1k in that room the 6 plants could be trained to stakes in the pots and pulled out of the room to maintain them easier to work on.

I have a 6' wide 9' deep room that was a closet and I know what it's like to struggle with the plants in there. I use 2 side by side in it. 6.5 foot ceiling in mine.

best of luck, let us see what you try.

With the racks I can pull one plant out or several at a time to work on them. It can get tight to work in their.

Nice work Itchy. You should raise that bottom lamp up into the canopy more imo. Most of the light projects sideways vs. up and down. It might take you from mite infested ditch weed to moldy bricked mids. :moon:

Well I am not shooting for brick weed. I am more of a coal dust covered ditchweed found along rail lines. You know the tennis shoe kind of weed.
