the main reason i ask i because im 3 hours away from a shop and when i go to a shop i usually have to call 10 different ones to find it. im visiting family on monday and will pick up what i can while there.

i just pulled apart 10 5gal buckets of wool. tossed the rootballs and saved what i could. i still have a 55gal trash can of rinsed coco in my back yard just chillin lol. i should do a side by side but then again why should i sacrifice my yield to prove a point haha. i will pick up some hygrozyme when im out of town and bring it back. thanks

Well I had a dream last night I was explaining to someone the benefits of rockwool to replace a couple coco airpots. And then I seen this thread today.

My question is, has anyone used granulated rockwool in 5 gal airpots? My current set up is 5 gal airpots with 100% canna coco, dtw top feed, two sprayers/emitters per 5 gal pot.

And how much bigger you think they can get in rw vs coco? or will they be same?

BTW - I have grown in cubes/slabs in top feed/recirc. and ebb/flow for many years with smaller plants. Thanks!

Dynamite, have u been able to get a low yielding og to hit 2 per light? If so how?

I did a Fire OG , which was one of 3 plants under 2k , I got right around a pound off it .. where as the other 2 plants hit well over 1.5 .. I don't normally grow OG's .. just got the fire back in the stable ,and ordered up a slew of HellsOG S1's to sift thru .. never cropped with OGkush ,just tossed a few in here and there

OG's are more like 1.5 per light .. with some heavy topping in veg , some LST , and a trellis net I'm sure 2's possible ,but it's soOO much less labor intensive to just grow something else for weight and toss few OG's in here and there for headstash or to fill dead space in a grow room

those look awesome. i need to switch it up to 1k's and get better penetration lol

for trEE's there is no replacement for 1k's !

Thanks DHF , hope all's well on your end .. good to see ya around still helping out with solid advice on the forums ..

I been wanting to try air pots with wool for a long time now .. curious how they play out .. I have 2 plants in coco right now alongside 22 in rockwool .. I see a minor edge in the rockwool far as growth vigor .. this Tupar coco I'm using had 2000ppm runoff right outta the bag :frown:, just trying my hand at coco for future endeavors of organic hydro , not sure how the wool will react to really syrupy nutes & teas

This is the second time I have read this start to finish, not to mention just skimming DJM posts.
Thank you for sharing what you have learned DJM.

and the new cycle begins.......... 4 blue dream cuts and one diesel. revegging a critical hog cut and a silver LA cut as well. gonna do some smaller trees, like 2-3 per 1k heavily supercropped and lollipopped. ive also got my seeds going too. gonna do 3 vert 600's and 2 1k's over mini tree bushes.

everything is going in bulk wool. the seed runs will probably be done in 3 gal air pots and the big trees in 10 gal laundry tubs.

sealed 10x10 tent with CO2 injection system for now. when it gets too hot for sealed i will run a burner outside the tent and bring in the cooler CO2 enriched air to remove the hot air from the tent. hope that makes sense.

yeah, i read that thread too, just didn't show enough of his configuration and it was in chunks rather than Flock. looking to see how DJM has it setup cause he mentioned that the drainage needs to be sucked out quickly before the flock wicks it back up

Thanks for the detailed explanation DJM. i think i'll just have to find a way to get the drainage out of the room, that was my challenge.

Bro.... your technique does not go unnoticed...

I just wanted to say that I love the "net" action.... the way you lay it out loose, in mid-flower... than let it embed itself into late-flower.... when you really need the support.... then securing key points on the 'net' itself.... Brilliant idea..... Im gonna try it this next run

Tying up, and supporting flower heavy limbs, one by one, is such a pain, and time consumer..... you also got to be so damn creative....

I appreciate your posting, and sharing......
You’re doing some good stuff.....DonJuan
