nice thread , i grew up smoking sativas and growing sativas first , it was nice getting some faster strains but cant seem to find that electric buzz from fast weeds except maybe early chop sd crosses. so so ready to grow some sativas in the future , i cant even find mexi brick weed any more to get some sativa genetics. im on the hunt for the brownest , stringyest , stemyest brick weed i can find . when i was in a more southern state i could find the best mexi , now i cant even find any fuckin mexi . damnit man ! i think ace seems to have a nice supply of different sativas i might eyeball . og might be good for some night time smoke but i like smoking all day and getting shit done !
I like hybrids myself . haven't flowered a pure sat in a long time.hoping to get some haze going soon tho for a cross

The only way I've ever seen to make a pure sativa commercially viable indoors is to SOG it.
If you can find a good sativa it is done around 90 days and will flower straight from clone once rooted. No veg time.
So if you have a regular hybrid plant you veg for a month a flower for two, instead the sativa can compete in yield and time spent. The problem is though that many growers in this day in age (especially commercial) don't want the high numbers that comes along with SOG growing.
If you have a 600w with 10-20 plants it isn't a real big deal. But if you are growing with tens of thousand of watts then very quickly you get into trouble with the federal police. Not local police. The feds. Most growers don't wanna worry about racking up federal charges.

Might check out Yoss33's thread about Royal Flush. Crossing Eldorado w/ Jock Horror seems to have tamed flower time while preserving the best qualities of the Oaxacan high. Several other hybrid sativas, as well, if there's any truth to the advertising. If I wanted a full-on electric head rush, I'd try Moonshine's Somali taxi ride...
Hell, even original haze supposedly had some afghan in its heritage, so I wouldn't let that scare me off.
As for commercial viability, I really don't care. As a home gardener, i grow lots of veggie strains that aren't commercially viable- I grow 'em because they're scrumptious...
Being able to spend money (not make money) to legally grow one's own weed is one of the great things about Colorado!

HS is one of my favorite sativa based strain. It's very quick, excellent yield and very powerful. Also nice earthy smell.

For yield haze hybrids like the ones from MNS. 2 week veg + 12 week flowering, easy 1g/W. Comparable to pretty much anything because of the short veg time. Of course some of them go 16+ weeks but still...
I like hybrids myself...the more sat the better..up to a point.
Here is one that makes my heart race and gives me that jerky arm movement high...grin from ear to ear.....hits fast.
This is around 6 weeks...I let her go to 12....PITA to trim if your a stickler for tiny thin pin leaves being in your smoke....and anyone into Kush turns their nose up at it....Unless they smoke it before they see it...
She yields amazing tho.....Super tight nodal spacing when vegging (gotta TOP TOP TOP also), then she just kinda starts to stretch a little bit through her whole lifecyle till just about the end....
Ligher feeder, but drinks like a fish and LOVES humidity(I keep it low regardless)...Everyone else who has her does her in drip type tables...
Mold isn't such an issue, buds dry fast(gotta watch this)..3oz bag of it looks like 4oz of Blk Domina for example.
Way sharp taste when fresh...tickles your nose EVERY time....after a month in the jars it is heaven.
Stinks to high heaven tho..
Oh and I just smoked a big fatty of it..LOL

I've had a couple of yielders lately with sativas. Not as yieldy as the crosses going around but I like the smoke and the high better on them and they actually have more bag appeal to me then those rocks you see everywhere these days.
This Angola Thai s1 was pretty weighty, it broke over where the bamboo stopped. Only flowered under 400w with 10 hour days for 8-9 weeks.

I am growing Blue Dream, a clone only hybrid that I totally love. It yields well and the high is sativaish.
I am also growing a Colombian x Jamaican Lambsbread that is a royal pain in the ass and the yield will keep me very stingy with it around my friends. They will usually get to smoke the dream but rarely the Col Jam. Takes forever to grow that shit. It sits in my flower room for three cycles almost. But it is a very special high and one that I need to have around for emergencies.
Wanting to pollinate my Blue Dream with some Col Jam dust, still trying to get a male going. Again, that takes forever. I will get it though. Just wish I didn't have to wait three months to get some Col Jam Pollen.
