Lyme disease MotherF%$#ker!

So pretty shitty news here. My better half has been diagnosed with lyme's Disease. It has only been about a week since the tick bite, so it has been caught very early. I suppose that is suppose to be good news. That being said, she is completely fucked up. Can't walk, can hardly talk, can not eat, can not sleep, severe pain, her memory is shot. She starts talking non-sense, and gets what she was dreaming about confused with what is going on in reality.

She started to cry to me, and said don't leave me if I am this way forever. God damn is that some shit to hear. Firstly does she think I would do that, or is she projecting on me because that is what she would do. :) I joke.

So I have some tincture that has been soaking in alcohol for about a month now, and I am cooking it to a thicker consistency in the crock pot as we speak. Less is more obviously.

She is on antibiotics, and I am planning on keeping her pretty well stoned out of her mind for a couple of weeks. I wanted to see if anyone else has any first hand experience with this? I just want to make her comfortable, and to help her ride this bitch out. Hopefully it is a short ride, but I have a feeling it could be a long, long haul.

If anyone has any ideas of anything I could do to help her out other than keeping her high as a kite I am all ears.

She'll recover, I know a few people that have it and they are pretty much back to normal after treatment. Although I think it can give you some effects down the road.

Those ticks are the worst little fuckers.

a close relative had this recently. you definitely want to take pressure off her organs like the liver and kidneys during this time. your liver does definitely take a toll when getting high all the time, i know this from a guy who lives without functioning livers and is on dialysis permanently, he is a big stoner. but you should not let her cold turkey either, this will lead to immune system crash, i suggest just some light toking for her during this. anyways that relative of mine had a hard time in hospital for 3 weeks with all kinds of organ failures etc, memory all messed up too. but now its been about 2-3 months since he recovered and he is all fine. back to normal. hang in there.

that's horrible man, i have been worried about getting lyme disease as i just found some ticks in my bed this past week. needless to say we got the dog on frontline after seeing that gnarly shit. I hope she recovers soon and you guys can get back to normal.
look up a product called wondercide, they have a tick spray you can use safely. It's cedarwood oil, and besides smelling like you live in a woodshop it gives peace of mind.

Here is an article i read about treating lyme disease... http://www.cindeegardner.com/articles/9545617127/treating-lyme-disease-naturally

It's not short, but it does have some good info.

Sorry to hear that man and best wishes for her quick and full recovery.

This won't help her, but my vet told me he takes some Doxycycline whenever he finds an embedded tick on him. Says it knocks out the Lyme's immediately. Just putting that out there for other people.

Best vibes amigo

Lyme's sucks, had it myself. Keep her on the antibiotics and keep her out/away from sunlight. It should start to get better "fairly" soon. Catching it early is key. I've heard of undiagnosed cases which have been mistaken for M.S. The neuro effects can be crazy.

Oldbootz has some good advice too. Don't go too crazy with the herb, try to keep the stress on the liver as easy as possible.

Vaporizer? I know with cancer patients many prefer edibles and vaping over "combustion"--in smaller doses.

Sorry to hear about the shit you guys stepped in.

Think: perseverance and love! Besides carrying her weight...your job is to insure her "inner self" that she is loved (you know, woman's vanity and the "lack of therof"). Besides, the shit/babble she says now...will not be recalled weeks from now.

Hang in there man!

I've had Lymes twice and I can tell you for sure some effects won't go away anytime soon. The anti biotics will rid you of the disease but the nerve damage, at least for me and several relatives, has never relented. When you have the symptoms it feels like you're in the spiders web and it injected you with poison. The anti biotics will eliminate the heavy duty crippling effects. It's hardly something you can't live with but ask anybody who's had it...Oh man, I have shivers thinking about it.My area has just about the highest incidence of Lymes and it's insidious but treatable. My mother in law had it for a yr before diagnosed and she was layed out flat.I don't know how she did it.
Best of luck to you and despite my view on it, many people are fully cured of it and never feel a symptom again.Luckily you found it fast.I couldn't move from bed for a week and that was after the shot of Doxycycline.I wish I had better advice.:)

Just remember - MOST people, who start antibiotics right away, make a complete recovery.

I'd recommend NOT reading some of those sites about "chronic Lyme disease", cause it'll just depress you both, and there's no reason to even worry about all that at this point. If she was only bitten a week ago, most of the effects you describe are probably not from Lyme so much as from worrying about it.

You caught it early which is good. An older friend had it for months before they finally got him to a doctor. His hands are like crippled crab claws these days.

yeah I have it too. I feel for you and wish you the best! I thought I dealt with mine too late, and it was just a few days after the bite. At first, I thought it was just another tick, had them attached before many times. I am like a tick magnet! Then it got red and itchy, well that happened before too. Then the big ass bull's eye and there was no denying it any more. It was the weekend so went to my np on a monday and on antibiotics for a while. My neck is a a little sore constantly but other than that I feel no ill effects. again, I wish you well. This is nothing to fool around with, wish I went in sooner as I don't want to have a sore neck for the rest of my life! Get this checked that instant that you know about it if possible!

That's super shitty. Sorry to hear man. Hope things work out ok for you and the old lady. That is one my old lady's biggest fears, that I get bitten by a tick and get lyme's from all the time I spend in the woods and swamp.

Had to go back to the hospital. She's not doing well at all. Now all I can think about is the blood work coming back testing positive for THC. That can bring a whole lot of shit down in conservativille. We will see.....

Sorry to hear about what your going through. Wishing you guys the best!

Doubtful that they'd run a blood test for THC just for the hell of it, I'd try not to worry about that on top of everything else going on.

Sorry to hear that. Hope things improve soon.

It's pretty unlikely they would test her blood for THC. Urine testing is by far the most common form of testing for THC/metabolites.......hospitals included. THC is "usually" detectable in the blood for roughly 2-12 hours post use and can be detectable up to about 24-48 hours for rather heavy users.

i hope things improve, i've had a few ticks myself, but not the Lyme(yet)
one week seems very fast, usually a much slower developing thing?
i think they usually make you wait a week or so before giving a Lyme test
just wondering if something else might be causing some trouble

I thought of that, I have to get a blood test soon and the paperwork as far as I can tell does not state any drug test but it is in code, but most things checked off I recognize from before. I haven't smoked in a while and figure I shouldn't until the test. I hope things improve for your "old lady" (never understood that expression, well old lady or better half, does that mean gf or wife? could it mean either? well forgive my dislike of expressions that do not make sense and good luck!)

PM me the codes if you want, I can look them up for you. Unless this has something to do with employment, it is really unlikely they would just slip a blood test for THC in there - tests cost $$$.
