use it as a discreet nutrient storage cabient for a 4x4 hydro hut. your not gonna be able to do much of anything in that cabinet, maybe produce a few grams under a cfl but other than that its not gonna be productive. as a former bible belt state grower, go to wal-mart and get an armoire cabinet and retrofit that with a 250 watt and a scrubber on the back side and youll be in business :)

But if your not in that position... Slap an intake and exhaust, 100ws CFL atleast, or 50w LED if possible, and boom quick little OZ churner... Height is pretty limited, I would try and add-on if possible, but zero veg should help a bit... All the guy's using 4x4's and shit are wasting half their area with stem anyway's, so don't necessarily think, more space=more yield... Look at Pinstripe, less than 1 Cubic Ft. and he squeezed what, over an ounce, with 22w? Some guys using 400W's blower's the work's barely pull a QP in a 4x4... I for one LIVE to be efficient, waste is stupid.

Look at my thread Tehmaster, I am using a friggin 12"x12"x25" cardboard box, 2 fans and my U.F.O. (42W L.E.D.) , and while it ain't interesting yet (Only 2 weeks flower for the oldest 2...), I KNOW I can pull an zip from it! Got a 16"x16"x47" tent on the way, so I probably wont be using it much longer, but you get the point, you can grow in anything that will withstand the temp of the light source (L.E.D.'s FTW yet again...)... The most important, and easiest to control factors for a plant are the Air, and Light, the Water (Medium, nutes etc...) is the semi tricky part, but even mastering that will come easily with time... I think it will be a much needed upgrade over the aquarium bro!

If the box is that lopsided, I would put it on a stand and call it modern art ;)

But as far as a growcab is concerned, one of the stickies in this sub forum is the 1 square foot challenge thread. I would read through that if I were you. It will give you plenty of ideas.

plenty of things you can do... LED are more expensive but more efficient and less heat... CFLs are cheap and EASILY accessible...

Should be able to exhaust it with either PC fans or a cheap bathroom fan... You can get a 50 CFM one for $15 at HD/Lowes.

Should be able have that cab up and running for under $100.

Hit me up with any questions. i used to grow in a 1x1 and learned a lot from it. Could prob save you a few hassles.

Damn good find on the Nova L.E.D. Oregonism! Probably jump by tommorow, but there are always some random deals online man! I wan't a little oomf already in my set-up, and the 4-pot arrays look just perfect for a 16"x16" :chin: ...

It would fill a 16x16 space with love. You would be over 50watts a sq ft if the lamp drew about 75watts.

Beware if you haven't ever browsed thru the LED section, most lights are listed as nominal wattage at maximum voltage and not what they actually draw. So I am always skeptical of wattage, however, even lower wattage LED's seem to incorporate better PAR/per watt, bette than CFL's even, let alone HID.

A UFO clone is another great choice for 16x16.

Run a 55w PL-l fixture on each of the 3 walls that isn't a door. Vent thru the roof, intake thru the floor. You will pull well.

I have a veg cab with similar dimensions, just a little deeper, and I had 12 or so plants doing fine under, 40 to 110 watt's of 4000/6400k light, no problems.

I have some cfl's and socket splitters(turns one light bulb fixture into two)

Question , what is the best way to get more plug in light sockets, i know about ravaging lamps but not much else?:thank you:

Personally, I use plug strips and these bad boys:http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-White-Outlet-to-Socket-Light-Plug-R52-00061-00W/100170446 and then the splitter's.

There are some other ways:
http://www.amazon.com/Outlet-Adapte...470&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=3+wayoutlet+adaptor Three way plugs and then add splitters as well to each plug in.

I am heading for LED and PL-L territory, especially for functional value, both seem to stay out of the way better than a CFL setup and I have spent just as much on CFL's buying strips, plug adaptors and bulbs, that justify at least PL-l's and now I am finding some LED's that are the $50-100 for shitz and gigglez.

Yes, I too have done quite a bit of research on L.E.D.'s, just received a 300 diode 175-185W at-the-plug panel for a 2x3 flower room. When I took a break from growin my own, CFL's were just becoming the rage for micro's, growing L.E.D.'s had just emerged (The one's like Tehmaster just picked up...), and they were pretty shameful besides being able to veg under. Check out the thread if you got time Oregonism, I have a 50 diode "100W" U.F.O., and with a little research I found it actually draws 42W. It is the same model MerryGardener pulled a Oz with, and the same as what Teriyakiz 200W P.C. uses too. With my need's though, I will be upgrading as soon as possible to a 4-pot apollo type style panel for my GL40.

Link?...I poked around but haven't found it...didn't realize you were already going LED, so you know the game.

I have time, can't find the damn soldering iron, so Im stuck for now, not to hijack the thread.

Personally, I am into the Kessil lights for a small spaces, but they are just too expensive for my tastes. But as far as the 4pots, they seem to be an improvement over the UFO's, which have been around 4ever, but are what they are.

I would find a square two gallon bucket with a lip, trash container or similar, then cut an appropriate sized hole in the bottom of your cabinet to support the container and then place it on top of a 5 gallon bucket or anything that will support a box with a bucket hanging out of the bottom of it. A five gallon will support your cabinet and will catch the run off from the two gallon bucket or you could use it as a resevoir.... This will double your useable vertical space and allow for a proper sized root system while still remaining pretty sleathy.

Then I would cut a 7.5"X7.25" hole in the top and install a $30 broan bathroon fan vented into a cardboard box set on top of the cabinet. A four inch layer of poly fill to protect the duct and a layer of carbon, repeating as neccesary
And a speed contoller for the fan.
A $20 70 watt hps ballast kit and $10 bulb and your done

My advice

My advice

I would use a Passive intake and a cheap pc fan outtake with no filter. I would use ONA gel to mask the scent. I dont put the ONA gel by the tent open until I start getting skunk smell. For lights I would use Blynx method with 5x23w cfls. I would do 1 plant at a time or turn it into mother cab. GL
