How, when and what to feed

Hi KaMoKazee. Here's the info on the PPK and Jack's Pro Hydro.

The Indoor hydro forum has the Passive Plantkiller thread. In it, you can follow a smart man while he dials in his grow. Lots of info. The star of the show is a modified wick system with pulses of nutes to the top of the media to increase fresh oxygen availability to the roots. His latest design is detailed in the "big PPK" thread.

There's a thread on the KISS method. This is basically 1 teaspoon [7g] per gallon for the life of the plant. No additives. Used with tap water.

If you have RO water, Jack's Pro Hydro can be used. Details in the Passive Plantkiller thread.

Have a nice day. bg

your soil should be slightly acidic, shoot for a ph of 5.8 - 6.2

going to start having problems if you do this. Soil = 6.5-6.8 partial Hydrogen.

Soilless - i.e. Rockwool, coco, expanded clay, ect = 5.8-6.4 partial Hydrogen.

DWC / Aero = 5.4-5.8 partial Hydrogen.

I make notes of what my plants like so my gardens always get better. If something does not work, identify it and remember. :) btw, KMK.. your plants look great. :) the small leaves falling off toward the bottom are totally normal during late bloom. you plant is getting rid of shit it no longer needs.

i meant 5.8 - 6.2 for the feed water, and anything below 7 is slightly acidic

thanks for that clarification for kmo seal

WARNING:

If anyone tries those germination tubes, be aware that NAPA floor-dry P/N 8822 will compact inside the tubes and need to be tamped down and add more NAPA. Otherwise, you'll lose wicking action below the surface of the media and kill the seed. I've had mine loaded with media and in water for approx a week to stabilize the media before adding seeds. You can tell by the color of the media surface if this is happening.

Also, I've only done this approx 50 times. My germination rates are sufficient to encourage me to do it again. Noob alert! I'm sure there are more widely accepted methods.

There are many ways to do this stuff. Have a nice day. bg

Hi bad gas,
Must be very exciting to harvest your hard work. I can't wait to harvest mine.
Wow, your gals are 7ft tall. I dont think my space would manage that. Must have turned out some big buds. Thats really cool that you work the sardines in the soil for nutrients. I went the lazy route and got that fish emulsion which I tried yesterday. The smell wasnt too bad but my hand sure stunk all day and the flies loved the stuff. They were buzzing all over the place as I fed my gals outdoors.

I am going to have to look into those germination tubes. I have poor germ rates but not much experience either. Glad to hear 4 seeds popped. :woohoo: I will have to checkout those threads you mentioned too. I am trying a simple ebb and flow and well' I dont know what I am doing lol.

Hi Brotherhood,
Man you have a lot of buds on your gal. I am trying to learn some of those bondage techniques but hasnt worked out well. Snapped a few branches off. I'll learn. lol
Yeah, I didnt feed my girls too much at all. I can only remember 2 or 3 times. They didnt seem to need it by the color of the leaves. Thats what I went by anyway. I did check pH only when I made nutrients which was 6.4 so I didnt think I needed to worry any more but I should have. Next round I will. Thanks for helping out my friend.

Seal-Clubber, wazzup?
I was thinking about what you said about keeping records today. You are absolutely right. I need to log what I do. Today I could not remember who was fed and who wasnt. I have gals in different stages now and cant rely on my brain. lol

Hey SunGrown, whats happening buddy?
I have been adjusting my water to 6.4 Thats good for soil right? I didnt find the soil pH/moisture meter and have not had a chance to swing by HD and pick up another. So at this point I am not sure what the soil pH is.

bad gas, thanks for that report on the germination tubes.

Thanks everyone for their help and input. :thank you: I am learning more and more everyday!

Howdy, everyone!

My seeds have been in the germination tubes for 1 week. 8 aboveground and 1 possible. I'll give it a few more days and if my score doesn't improve, I'll pop more seeds. So far, I'm not sure this tech will be widely accepted. I got 25/25 last time using soil. The time before, I got 17/20 in NAPA.

Has anyone suggested hempy buckets? There's a thread.

Gotta go to work. Later. bg
