150w HPS Club and Resource Guide......

Nice scope Webecat, ive been keeping my eye on this one for some time: 10x-40x & 150x Celestron Handheld Digital Microscope

ive had my eye on something similar. i apparently shake like a withdrawling boozer, but im making due.
best thing, if you dont have amazon prime, get the free trial. its free 2 day shipping on most items..

heres a cool tip
anyone with these style scopes

should take that clear plastic off the end. it wont be glued (my ghetto one or my 420 scope werent) it just snaps and slides out, and you can get that goldielocks zone without having your sexy buds squished up on that plastic.

the digital ones look nice though. id have to rig a boon or something to hold it, however

LiquidWarlock,

Over the years I've discovered that you can never really tell exactly when to harvest any strain till you've grown it a few times. And, many folks growing the same genetic will have a different sweet-spot based on their own tastes. Just keep in mind that the more amber you let it go, the greater the couch-lock will be. If you're into up and heady, hearvest earlier with less amber.

Good luck, welcome aboard, and enjoy the ride!

its 90%milk, and some ambers poppin in. im stuck between letting her go, or cutting her, and getting her ready for my brain..
probobly cutting her down tommorrow.
tested a couple sugar leaves (let em air dry for a bit) and got phased out of reality hard. so im pretty excited to try the main course lol

so i harvested, of course. i hardly could find more than a few clear trics. mostly cloudy, and a few ambers.
ill post some harvest pics after work...
this girl didnt smell, until i make the first cut, than.. WHEW... STANKYPANKY

shit looks sexy :jerkit:

so now i got ma clone, and the other seedlins (not femmed) in the main box on a 18/6, and the game begins again

I have one similar to that one and the cheapo works much better if you can stay a little steady. The thing I like is I don't need to cut leaves off, just hold it up and check multiple buds. FWIW

I was surprised how well it worked,so it was a well spent 2 bucks. The trichs showed up perfect. I paid ten for the other one and it really sucked. I'd snip some sugar leaf, put the scope over it on a table and couldn't get it to focus. The one LiquidWarlock sent the link too does look a little nicer though.

Hey guys, I like this thread, you guys are pulling some good yields from such little lights. Most would scoff at anything less than 1000.
I had a question, it is probably in this thread already, but its 500 some pages. So I cant read the whole thing.
Has anyone done a v scrog with a 150? How much did you yield, if so? And how big was the scrog area?
Do you have a link, if so?

Yep, I been reading that one in the meantime. That isn't very high yielding,He has plants growing 1/2 oz, is that as good as it gets with these little lights?

Dude, he's doing a perpetual SOG-type harvest. He's harvesting a half ounce every 1-2 weeks! That's quite a bit different than saying he's only getting 1/2 ounce plants. Know what I mean?

I would say that with a good vertical scrog, vegged correctly and everything, you could harvest 4 ounces or more. With a dialed-in horizontal setup, like a sog or a scrog, or basic LST, you could harvest up to about 4 ounces. On average, though, I would try to expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 ounces, and anything more would be a bonus. Anything less and you have some issues to work out before round 2.

Did I offend? I did not mean to be
I just never seen a grow on this scale. I never thought about it like that, though.
That is a much better prospect.
I was looking at the numbers per plant, and that was not what I wanted to see.
I could get behind a 4 oz harvest, I figured the scrog would help, instead of straight clones.
What kinda diameter would I want for a "donut" scrog with a 150 watt, cool tube of course.

hi hush and plato :)
I'm running that setup - it's a bit unpractical in its SOG version (plants need different nutes, plus need constant arranging) but if you rule out the SOG part, it should be yelding more: i.e. I copied BOGs and VERTS from this very thread, so these are the bigger yelding models it is based upon (with slightly bigger pots).
I did SOG to test different genetics, I'd go box of green next run if I hadn't decided to switch for a (even) smaller solution.

PS I'm posting a little recap of the grow weight here next week.

I dunno about a BOG, I think I would need more space to fit the pots.
I think I could do like an 18" square, with 1 plant per side, on its own trellis. I dunno how tall, maybe 2'. That light only puts out 16000 lux, that's enough for like 4 sq. ft., but at less than 9" away from the light it will be closer to 30,000. That would light 6 sq. ft. effectively, and since the buds will be growing inwards, that will increase it further.
I may have to do this, if only as a side project.
Does the vert setup yield the same per sq. ft. as a regular setup?

I really speak for myself, but I wouldn't go more than 4 sq. ft. with this lamp.
I count 8"-10" coverage max, as reference, but again that's just me (and kept it as close as 3.5-4" with good results, plants lovin' it)

Does the vert setup yield the same per sq. ft. as a regular setup?

that depends... I've seen many *great* setups in each watt range I've never made my mind up! :D
I'd go with any vert/horiz, yeldwise too, if it is a good design :)

Vert scrog in my SIG. Last 2 plants I pulled were 28g and 22g dry... Have 6 unsexed plants there now.

So, a 1' x 1' x 1' box, with 1 plant on each side. 3 gallon pots are gonna be too big to pull that off. I don't think this will be a worthwhile endeavor. Not with that lamp. I get more coverage than that with my current setup, and I don't think I could do 2 of those.
Now, with a 400 watter, I can see a good improvement. I could put that one at 18'' x 3' sides, and get an increased square footage. I dunno if I could keep them that close to that light, though. Not w/o a proper cooling system, at least.

Wow, That's pretty good. How many plants can you fit in that setup?
I could run 6 plants full cycle in there at one. Not sure i will be this round as the seeds are regular (mixed sex). Double test run. 2 of each strain. Ojd ecsdxsssdh, Redeyed gen wash apple (hopeing for a pink apple pheno), Redeyed gen purple rhodi. I am lucky they picked me and hope to do them justice!

Using 1 gal pots, here's how they fit

That room is wicked, btw.
Can you fit only 6 due to space constraint? Or is it due to overcrowding?
Looking at it, I see 3 plants on one side...could you not put 3 on other side, and one on front and back? But those don't look to be in bloom

Square ft?

Square ft?

This has always confused me. Since my little cab is 13" x 25" x 29" = 9425, that is cubic inches I thought, or the same thing is 1.1' x 2.1' x 2.4' = 5.4 cubic feet, not square feet. What am I doing wrong here?

Can someone please enlighten this mathematically challenged dolt?

Further since the 150 HPS bulb I used before puts out 18,000 lumens (I think it said), isn't that 18,000/5.4 = 3333.33 lumens per cubic foot? Since all cabs are LxWxH, or in 3 dimensions, shouldn't we talk lumen coverage in cubic feet?
