TPB doesn't run on the tube here in northern MN, I'll buy the series & view from start to finish, if I try picking it up in the middle I'll not know any of the inside jokes being made of previous cast or earlier situations etc. Unless there were some sort of marathon I'd never get to view it in its original order.

Had to do the same thing w/the Sopranos, I missed the first 4 seasons to putting in too many hours of work, by the time I started to watch it I was left wondering about the flashbacks & other references. wound up buying the series & catching season 6 in its entirety.

right now I'm waiting for season 3 of 'Walking Dead' to be released.

If your taste in humor includes the "low brow" variety, you will fall in love with this show. After watching a few episodes in a row, your face will begin to hurt from smiling so much....much like the acid trips of my youthful days.

I will say that the last season, maybe even the last 2 seasons (6 & 7) are not as good as the preceding seasons, but that is fairly normal for TV shows to slide a bit after they've been on for a while.

low brow ~ high brow, if it's well written & directed I'll dig it. if it's really just junk humor being peddled to the lowest bidder then my DVD set will soon be available on eBay to the 'high'est bidder I'd hope.

Unfortunately this is where it might let me down, as stated above not watching from the start will have me missing the 'inside' jokes of people that know the series/characters well. If I miss a few cool jokes/references I might not think the writing is all that.

& yeah, US TV sorta sucks, many times I searched the channels for TPB episodes, living in northern MN means I have 3 or 4 Canadian channels, none ever broadcast that show.

of course when all else fails there's always Dancing with the Stars

I'll fix that problem! Season 1, episode 1...from youtube. I think you might be able to find all the episodes on youtube, not sure about that though. I bought the DVD set because I wanted to watch on my larger TV screen, and not on my 20" computer monitor.

To give you a better idea of the show's personality, it essentially uses the same format as that show called, "Cops," you know the one with the theme song Bad Boys. Instead of the cameras following the cops around in their daily activities, the cameras follow around these low level criminals whose main illegal activity is trying to make money by growing and selling weed. One thing I really like about TPB's is the theme song, sounds very David Lynch-ish to me. Oh yeah...every season begins with the boys getting out of jail, and ends with them being sent back.
