P&P's 2013 Guerrilla Swamp Grow

So that's the first plot, I loved this spot so much that I kept exploring and then I came to a clearing that's now the 2nd plot in this area. This whole area was an amazing find, I liked it so much I now call it "Guerrilla Gardens" ;)

Plot 2: Open Wetland

pH: 6.68
ppm: 110

The pH here is even better than the forested wetland above, and with less ppm so this spot is better in the medium-aspect. There are way more options of where to plant here, because it's pretty vast. The only down side is the arial vulnerability. I will be planting next to trees and any natural foliage that's available here, in clusters of 2. That should be good enough, because in this area growing isn't too much of a problem. I'd be pretty paranoid if I were out west growing in a spot like this one. Will still use the best camo techniques I know of though. This place is a little deeper than the forested wetland, clocking out at about 2 feet in the parts that I'm considering. I'll be poppin my 3' tubes out here and probably my 4' tubes as well; that's if I don't decide to chop them in half to allow me more plants to put out! If I can get away with only 3 footers here then that's what I'll be doing. Surprisingly no ticks in this spot though, it was nice not to have to pick those bastards off my suit today; that's for sure. Lemme know if you guys have any input on this spot or the plants in it to help me out, it would be much appreciated!

That's about it for today, will be hauling out tubes this week so I'll post some pics of them in action and what they look like set up and camo'd out in their new homes. Be well everyone, peace!

I would go with plot 2 simply because of the direct sunlight. I started a similar grow a couple of years back. We dug holes and lined them with thick plastic trash bag. We poked a couple of holes in the bags and back filled half way with coco and lime. The top half was filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Things were going nice and I was really enjoying how the plants naturally wicked water from the wet soil.

On that not make sure you have good security measures, as when I did this grow they were cut down shortly after I planted them.

Here is a pic before someone cut them.

I actually transported tubes TODAY, and decided to put all of them in that sunny plot instead of the forested wetland. I had a better feeling about the exposure it provided like you just mentioned. Your grow looked pretty good, why do you think someone chopped em though? How close were they to civilization? Mines on some commercial land that's up for sale, so I'm banking on nobody going back there for a few months. About to post an update of what the tubes look like out in their new home, but thinking about uprooting them and hauling them even further into the swamp for these exact reasons. I want them not to be visible incase a hunter comes back to shoot ducks/deer, but the amount of work doubles in hauling bales of peat moss out into the mucky swamp after hauling them all the way through the forest. It's something I'll have to think about for sure... lemme know what you think.

I was on the edge of someone's property, about 1000ft from a small working ranch. We actually had plenty of cover and it looked promising but we chopped a tree for more light and I think that alerted someone. They were all gone they next time we visited the sight.

It's more work to haul things further but its worth the extra security. I have taken a method that the Mexicans use to haul bricks of marijuana across the border. They create bails the size of a peat moss bail and use heavy duty duck tape to make straps like a back pack. If you do this you can through a bail or two on your back and carry one, thus creating less trips which equals less work. :beat-dead

Just a thought.....

Those straps for the peat bales are ingenious. Keep up the good work P&P. This going to be my guide for Guerrilla growing this year!

Great thread dude keep it up.
I will try with swamp tubes as well, but not in an actual swamp, in a more "wet" area than usual, but its more of a personal thing, just 3 plants.
Will be watching this one.
I think forums are the best way for learning about cannabis, you get more specific details needed for your location and/or combine some knowledge and add something yours, i have been reading forums here and there since 2007 and i have learned a lot more about all aspects (up to 95 %) more then from books like "grow bible" and so on, i will check that book out anyway it looks like its the only good book stoner can find today lol.
peace

Hello Plant&Prosper, it is Swamp Thang checking in, and I have to say that is a MASSIVE amount of work you put in to that grow. Can't get a single photo in this thread to show on my computer, thanks to my slow internet link, but reading your descriptions of the sheer size of your swamp grow, I am impressed, to put it mildly.

You must be built like Godzilla to handle all that heavy lifting. I just completed the setup of a puny grow site comprising just 8 swamp tubes in one spot here in the tropical rain forest swamp labyrinth, and that was one gruelling job, which only began with floating all those bags of soil to an overgrown island by dugout canoe.

I just can't imagine lugging out all the soil it took to fill dozens of tubes as you have done. My hat is off to you, and I've bookmarked this thread to follow your progress.

I would go back, but that's me. I would have grabbed the two left and went then and there , maybe they couldn't handle the full load, maybe there all gone now. bad luck mate and best of luck to you.
