Hammerhead's Peyote Purple x Querkle

Got 5 of these beans from the Bay as freebees. I also had 10 GDP x Querkle seeds from the server fund that I wanted to cross them with but set them outside while I cleaned my tent and then fell asleep(I was smoking on my last crop). Long story short they got baked and died. Was very disappointed because the Bay no longer carries them. Anyway, in place of the GDP X Querkle I popped some Strawberry Diesel Kush seeds that I also got from the Bay. Those will be used to make crosses with the Peyote Purple x Querkle in lieu of the GDP x Querkle. No plants will be topped or trained and they are in Promix BX amended with compost, worm castings, Azos, and Mykos in one gallon buckets under 400 watts in a 3x3 tent. My last run with the same set up but bigger cloth pots, produced some amazing buds and very fruity aromas. For this thread I will only focus on the PPQ plants as there are already a couple SDK threads in the Fractal Forum. Today is day one of 12/12. The three plants in the front are the PPQ. As you can see, the two on the left are about the same but the one on the right is a lot taller and has more vigor as well as a lot more sativa dominant.

Well, of the 3 PPQ I got I female. She is not very vigorous and is flowering very slowly. Of the 10 SDK I got 9 males and one hermie. I'm not too happy about that but that's the luck of the draw when you grow from regular seeds. I'll post pics of the hermie and female soon.

I ran Peyote Purple once, but didn't take much care of her (had a bunch of stuff in the garden and sort of threw her in there). Easily the frostiest in the garden. Without even trying, it produces wicked resin. PP and any crosses she makes should be good stuff.

Actually, this makes me want to pick up another pack. Really wanted to run Hammerhead's PP cross, but it's only available through freebies.

Are they fem seeds? If not, it would seem the seedling on the far right is a male.
The seedling on the far left looks like your female. The one in the middle is a toss-up, but I would bet its male just because its more vigorous than the little one and looks more like the taller one. Usually, the most vigorous plants at seedling stage will be the males. Learned that my first indoor grow with a 400w lamp in a closet growing 4 seeds of '1989' Skunk#1 from SSSC.
The 2 males looked exactly the same. Big, thick, and super vigorous. The 2 females also looked exactly the same but were dainty little plants. Beautiful, but smaller than the males.
I thought if they got sunlight they would grow faster and catchup to the big ones. LOL.
I put the 2 little ones outside, and someone took them. The 2 bigger ones ended up being males. I learned this the hard way.
Ive never had a skunk like this since. I had a chance to grow the best Skunk Ive ever smoked and was even gifted 4 seeds from the grower, and blew it because I was such a noob.

I've got tons of beans so it's no big deal. All I really wanted to do was make crosses anyway to keep the genetics since I don't have a space for a mother and clones at the moment.

Well, something I've never seen before is occuring. I've been waiting for the male flowers on the Hermie to open and drop pollen. Well, they are opening but there is NO pollen in them. Instead they are full of female pistils. Has anyone ever seen this before and know what its called? I'll post pics as soon as I'm able to.

As you can see one is already fully open and one is starting to spit pistils out.

This one is about to open. Sorry for the blurry pic but I don't have macro on this camera. But all the white you see are pistils about to bust out of the pollen sack.

Hmmm? Ide still grow her out, but pick off any male pre-flowers just incase and see what happens?

The PPQ female is finally starting to take off but compared to the SDK she is getting left in the dust. She has the stature of an indica (maybe because I had her in a one gallon pot until she showed sex) but everything else about her is more on the sativa side. She is a very healthy plant just a bit slow with the flowering. Not the best pics but you get the idea.

Nothing to significant to report on this girl. She's at day 28 of 12/12 and she is packing on the resin damn fast too. Even the fan leaves that are nowhere near the buds are getting coated. To date she is the most sativa dominant plant that I have grown so we will see how long it takes her to finish. I also cover a few of her lower buds with some pollen that I had saved off of a Strawberry Diesel a few months back. Here are a few pics to show resin production and sativa dominance. Also throwing in a couple pics of a Purple Kush Automatic from Buddha Seeds that I'm also running just for shits and giggles.

Heres my PK from Buddha Seeds OD's, about 4 or 5 weeks in ~

Raquel is a sweetheart, isnt she? The smell on the PK is steller huh? What a treat Ill have in about 5 weeks.
Are you yielding well indoors w/ it?
I still have 25 seeds of the Super Purple Kush, (the new batch), and 25 seeds of the older Buddha Purple Kush.
Was thinking of running 20 indoors for some exotic headies, but I need to know how big they got when grown right, and what size pots they need. Wonder if 3gln pots would be enough to do the PK's indoors.

The sunshine brought out a beautiful, exotic, bouquet in the terpene profile.
All 25 got stunted and ruined because my buddy put them in used FFOF soil and watered them with a 7.3 ph.
So this was the only one to survive. Next summer will be much better because Ill make sure he uses a mix of fresh FFOF soil w/ 1/2 chunky Fox Farms perlite.

I think our plants are about the same age huh?
What a coincidence! Free PK beans for everyone to test. LOL
