...to find a new mum...or 2...

since moving my grow completely off site i don't have to worry about the fuzz kicking in my door...well they still can i suppose...but i will start my own grow thread regardless...

my main strain for the last 5 - 6 years has been NL#5 which has done real well for me. it works well medically and i still have yet to develop a real tolerance for it...it keeps on, keeping on...

but mold and mediocre harvest numbers have spurred me into trying other strains...NL#5 will always have a place at the table, but there are a couple of empty seats that need filling...

so just over a month ago my seeds arrived and i set about popping some beans...personally i suck at growing from seed, i tend to stuff them up one way or another and this batch was no different. i didn't get them under the light quick enough and got real stretchy stems that needed support. however some time under the HPS soon saw them growing happily away...

so now let me introduce the new kids on the block. white widow, kalichakra (yes i spelt it wrong on the pic) and mazari...
picture.php

forgive the roots porn...i used the pic to show some others that emulsified neem oil doesn't hurt the roots of the plants...anyway...i have 2 WW, 2KC and 1 MAZ. the MAz is feminised and the others are regular seeds.

took 2 clones from each plant to day and will veg for another 2 weeks if they don't get too big...then place outdoors to sex and flower...

both the WW & KC are quite stretchy, both are sativa dominant ...the KC shown is most likely a male which will be crossed with both the MAZ and the NL#5....

so let the games being...

I do LIKE the root development on those plants ... a good indicator of Future growth! I look forward to seeing how they develop.

cheers guys...won't be much to see for a little while...

Sat: they are motoring along quite nicely, even 2 days after i repotted them they had roots poking out through the drainage holes of the new bigger pots

boom: a couple of girls would be nice, but also looking for a boy or two as well...

CC: i have a mate that used to have WW but lost the strain after a grow mishap...

well the plants have been going great guns...so much so that they went outside a week early as they out grew their space...

so we have:
white widow 1

white widow 2

kalichakra 1

kalichakra 2

and finally the mazari
picture.php

the ww & kc went outside and the mazari stayed indoors for more vegging time as it came from feminised stock and the others are regular seeds...the mazari will be vegged for another 3 - 4 weeks before it is moved...

hoping that the ww & kc will show sex in the next 2 - 4 weeks so i can plan what clones i will use for breeding...well pollen chucking at best...

the ww have had a massive growth spurt over the last few days. the kc has also taken well to their surroundings but have not boomed like the ww...probably due to a stronger indica influence...

grew out the kalichakra back in 05. Big yielder you gonna like her. mine was the preimproved version so it had a more citral flavor than mint that Mandala calls for now. The seed run won't be as potent as the clones. She more potent the older she gets. After 4 or 5 years I had to cull her as it was very easy to over indulge. Perfect to shut up that buddy who's always bragging about how much he can smoke.

well things are moving along quickly from each pair of white widow and kalichakra seeds i germinated i got 1 boy/1 girl....boys are gone now...the girls are starting to flower now with the ww ahead of the kc...both look promising...

i was going to play around with making some seeds but will wait till the wet season to start collecting pollen as we still need to keep our plant count 10 or less...there is only 3 months growing season for us so accumulating enough for us to get through till next year is our priority...

all the plants look good, the ww has shot up sativa style and the kc has kept low but has really spread it wings...the mazari is still vegging away...

got out today to check the plants, the outdoors ww & kc are still stretching which is good as they have pot size to grow BIG...

the mazari is still vegging away and will be and will be for another 3 - 4 weeks as i wait for an outdoor pot to come free. she is one short dense plant, i will trim her up in a couple of days to try encourage her to to gain some height...should have not topped her so early...

mazari

i also have rooted clones of all the plants to ensure that i can pick the 'best' 2 for our grow....

trimmin time

trimmin time

my new gro bro continues to smash it good when it comes to getting the plants to veg...he has got on top of the process really well and hasn't made the common rookie mistake of killing them with kindness...

the one area he lacks in is trimming the plants for opening up the canopy to improve light penetration as well as shaping the plant and removing unproductive lower branches...so today i had to do a rather severe trim to regain some control. the primary reason is that our 4 outdoor pots are full and one won't become vacant for at least another 4 weeks. untamed the nl#5 would out grow the tent within 3 weeks leaving us nowhere to put it...double topping it will now slow it down as well as make it bushy so when the pot becomes free we should see a positive return.

the mazari on the other hand may have to wait 6 weeks before we will have space for it. i will let it grow for another 2 weeks and then top it once more....

on a side note i asked my gro bro to either shut up or leave the room as he groaned every time i cut...he decided to leave and make coffee....he whimpered when he saw how much i cut off...

Not to derail (plants look amazing though man) but can I ask ya a question ozzie?
You seem to be the neem king 'round here and didn't want to start another thread.

Used to foliar spray but now I don't wanna.
I'm growing clones indoors, 10 days rooting, 4 days veg/adjust) then 12/12 in a mini sog.
Can I drench the newly cut clones and then 2 weeks later (start 12/12) drench again?
Should the second drench be later?
Will my cuttings be ok?

Also because I'm using already emulsified neem do I use ~10ml/litre instead of 5ml pure neem?

Sorry again for the derail.
Cheers for any help man and that mazari is gunna be sick when veg is done :plant grow:
