I just started growing weed because I just resumed smoking it! I first smoked pot in 8th grade, but stopped when I was 18 because of increasingly frequent not-so-fun paranoia highs. I spent some time in the military, got out and worked as a carpenter, then went back to college and got an advanced science degree and spent a lot of time working in research labs.
About 10 years ago I took some time off and worked as a carpenter for the Black Rock City Dept. of Public Works, which is the crew that puts on the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert and builds all the infrastructure out on the playa. One of my camp-mates was a grower from northern CA, and he told me that A.) pot paranoia often goes away on its own, and B.) It is sometimes strain related. So I smoked some of his bud, and enjoyed a high like I hadn't felt since I was a kid. After I returned home, I didn't know anyone I could buy from, so that was that...until Washington State legalized it, that is!
I lost touch with my grower friend, and I have no idea what strain of pot I was smoking with him. So I bought a variety of seeds, sativas, indicas, and 50/50s, and build a small grow box in the garage. (growing is still illegal unless you're a MM patient.) I plan on documenting the build and my grows, because years of keeping detailed lab notebooks is a hard habit to break.
