High Yoss33,

Your Zamaldelica looks like it is starting to go bush. I thought it was going to have an open Christmas tree structure, but I see the tertiary branches are starting to take off with gusto. Still looks great to me.

I found some posts from Dubi that shows pure Zamal when they were young, and then older. The young ones look like yours has been looking. I think yours is going to turn into a monster bush just like Dubi's did.

Here is the link:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=43843&page=2

I broke down and ordered the Zamaldelica. Dubi can thank you for the beauty that you are raising, Terpene and others for the great descriptions of the effects, and his own recommendation after getting to know my preferences for making the sale.

I think that they are going to be a bear to grow indoors. I think that they are not fully mature until you start to get those tertiary branches to start going wild. I may have to take peoples advice about growing a mother, making clones after the mother matures, and then flowering the clones. It looks like flowering them from seed may not get them there in a small grow cabinet.

I'm very excited about these. Thanks for sharing your grow with us.

Watching in Amazement,

ThaiBliss

Good luck ThaiBliss, that should be a fun grow to watch. Post a lot of pics.
Plants look gorgeous Yoss, it should be quite a finish with such a good foundation. Those plants are beautiful and healthy.

That's the approach I'm taking, TB.
After I get pre-flowers I'll move them to 1 or 2 gallon smart pots for bonsai mumming.
I'll kick off cloning/flowering after peak summer heat passes.
I'm at about six weeks from seed, and so far it looks like I've lost 2/5 to male pattern baldness.

cheers

Hi Low,

Glad to hear you are taking the plunge and challenge of growing Zamaldelica indoors. I hope you will keep us in mind and post heavily about it somewhere. Let us know if and where you do. I'd love to see pics now!

Sorry if you posted earlier somewhere with all the information. I'm too lazy to search. Did you get the feminized with only Malawi, or the regular with Malawi x Thai?

"male pattern baldness"

What do you mean, no female hairs?

Good Luck.

Yoss33 - I got all excited with the LowFalutin's post that triggered notification. At first I thought you were posting pictures early this week.

On pins and needles,

ThaiBliss

Haven't begun a thread yet.

I got the Zammy Regs, and I was just having a bit of fun with trying to say they ended up male.

Good evening, people!

All's fine with Z#4 and Z#2, though I saw more than 10 holes of stem borers on Z#4, so it was sprayed with a pyrethroid. Here's a small one in a leaf stem:

The plant doesn't look too bothered by the critters:

And Z#2, with some branches of the surrounding bushes removed:

I just go to the garden section in a supermarket and take a bag of the usual peat+soil mixes they have, my only requirement is that the bag is not heavy, which means there's more peat in it. These bags are usually labeled as being suitable for seedlings and indeed they are. Pre-soaking and towels are not needed.

Hello, people!

A few photos from my friend's balcony today. The plants haven't grown much for a month (since the last photos), but are becoming nice bushes, maybe no more toppings will be performed.
Z#5 is slowly (or semi- ?) flowering and is quite heavily pollinated by local wild hemp. This season with its many rains is great for the hemp. I'm already seeing 2-meter-high Christmas tree males next to the roads.

Here's the balcony, aren't these street trees awesome :).

My friend dumped some old pot soil onto Z#6's soil, and the result is disgusting. Told him to try to remove it and mix the top layer with some airy peat soil mix.

Superb shots!:tiphat:
And the street trees lovely, aren't they?
However, I can't say the same thing for the neighbour's roof!

Thanks for the support, people!

The weekend portion of Z#2 and Z#4 follows.

Z#2, which lost its lower leaves due to drought. I intended to let this plant grow without any support, but watered it a little after taking the photos.
picture.php

Z#4. It's having its top somewhat yellowing and droopy, but nothing scary. I've had the same happening last year when growing a Haze plant at the same place. I think it's because of overwatering the central root zone - I have a hose that drips there and keeps the place moist all of the time. The rest of the roots are dry, so the plant is fine as a whole, but the top part suffers because it seems to be feeding from the roots close to the stem. I'll change to watering the whole area around the plant (2 x 2 meters), and not only next to the stem.
A week ago I fertilized Z#4 a little to see if it will darken its colour (especially the top). NPK of 4:6.5:7 diluted 4 times more than the instruction on the bottle. It already seems slightly darker.
