12/12 Micro Grow Narrowing stems , wilted leaves with PICS

This guy has a 12/12 micro cab homemade with CFL's.

For some reason the plants stems become too narrow at a certain point of growth and they fall right over dead. SEE PICS

For some reason the ends of leaves sometimes wilt in specific ways SEE PICS

He has no clue what nutes to buy at all, and needs someone to spell it out for him

So now plants are being put into bigger pots , which is barely an option because of the "micro " aspect is very micro in this case.

An exhaust fan was introduced which reduced the temperature, there is an aquarium 20 gallon air pump pumping air in and a 2000rpm PC fan taking the heat from all the light.

He needs to know exactly what
nutrition to buy the plants, and how to keep these problems from happening. He's never had success, he is only a few months into trying.

Hi tehmaster, seedlings are looking nice and healthy. Try moving the plants closer the the light and/or switch to bright white CFLs to reduce stretch. No need to repot yet, simply fill in some more soil to support the stem.

It's good that you don't know what ferts to use, because they don't need any at this point and feeding too early is a rookie mistake. When the time comes there are dozens of products depending on whether you choose organic or chemical. I use fish/seaweed emulsion.

Thanks alot tem0lo ! Do you know why that happened to the leaf tips ?

I thought that may have been caused by being too close to the cfl (about 5 inches )

No the tips are more likely nute related. Try and rig up another pc fan to blow across you plants (The stem problems will disappear, they grow stronger.) if you can salvage one. Your babys are pretty far away from needing a feeding. when you repot, try adding some perlite to the soil your using, around 50%, you want allotta drainage, looks pretty soggy in there from the pics. Relax, take it slow, and soon enough youll have a few little budsicles...

Five inches is fine. You won't see burning from CFLs until they are much, much closer. Now they are stretching toward the light and putting energy into stem growth. Move it 2-3 inches away and see how they react.

The burning could be nute related if your soil comes pre-loaded. Honestly if it doesn't get worse it's hardly even noticeable.

He said " i used a test kit for the tap water today, it gave me a ph reading of 7.5, which was the lowest rating it had." ( it was a test tube style with droppers of dye that you compare to a sheet with all the different colors it may turn.

Does that sound right/ good ?

Definetely need a different PH kit, I too bought the wrong one long ago lol! Best between 5.5-6.5 I think. You can come out the shell, if you think about it, youve already revealed too much just signing up! They will pull through! Like tremolo said, most store bought soil (Non MJ geared) have some nutes in it "pre-loaded". I run seedlings/small plants in jiffy mix, very inert! Keep yer chin up!

I am entitled to my own opinion without you posting defamatory statements about me to other members like Neek's.

Don't troll on KIWI for laughing at a joke at your expense, I said it! Nobody has been negative bredren, we just find it funny you worry about identity on a Canna forum, (least you should have is a IP mask.. and even then, they can find you if they wanna...). All in all your odds of being tipped off via IC are quite low and Ive never heard of a case personally. We got enough hot heads on ICmag (thankfully not in the micro section, those darn HPS/LB fanboys...) blowing steam the moment they misconstrue a statement (Tend to be the people who cant handle their emotions...). That said you DO have your right to do whatever the fuck on your thread, but the boards don't lie brother, we ain't hate at all, and you come out of nowhere neg reppin and reporting lol (If I was an admin, Id be laughing to myself, Kiwis a well respected nice guy in my book with more runs then you (obviously) under his belt. Id advise you humble a bit, and take all advice handed to ya (Unless me n Kiwi declare it crockshit!)!

Now, on to constructive criticism! Get the foil down ASAP! Tape up printer paper to the walls if you cant get white paint. The reason you got funky leafs (Missing halfs/serrations) is probably not adequate enough lighting. Could also be a Tri-foliate, but I think the previous is it. Second note, your soil looks a little lacking in perlite, a dense soil stunts root growth and you end up with those teeny bonsai leafs and height (again, could be insufficient lighting). That all said, they will still grow (Ill show ya a pic of a plant in straight red dirt, shits solid as a rock, and the plant itself, 7" withe the saddest wispiest bud's iv ever seen!), and aside from appearing stunted, they look perfect!
