Broken CFLs?

Not saying this happened to me (and I hope it doesn't!), but if one of my CFLs happened to break *IN* the grow room, would the girls in there be safe to smoke? I have been wondering this...

While they do contain mercury vapor, your biggest problem will be dealing with the broken glass and the white phosphorus powder it contains. If the bulb didn't break directly over top of one of the girls, sprinkling glass and powder onto them I would just remove the plants and air the room out for 1-2 hrs then return them. However, if you have any doubts, I would just play it safe. There is always more seeds/cuttings that can take their place.

I wouldn't smoke anything that got exposed to the contents of fluorescent, HPS or MH bulbs as they all contain mercury.

Thank you, Marco61. I kinda figured that, but with so many "EEEK! A CFL BROKE! I AM GONNA DIIIIIIIIIEEEEE" type people out there, and the (in my opinion rather over-the-top) hazardous waste precautions you're supposed to take when one breaks, I wasn't sure :)
