It's a shame, but what are ya gonna do?


Weather continues to be mostly raining, only recently with some very hot sunny days to dry things off. There are some signs of over watering on some of the girls, mostly the smaller ones though. If the weather stays hot, they should get big, the near constant rain has definitely slowed growth noticeably.

Jorge's Diamond, it took to the supercropping. The split in the stem healed bigger than it was before. She's definitely more bushy. She's above my head now, if you notice there's something weird about the top leaves...:

Turns out we have a little friend. She had a nest which I removed, it was big and I'm not sure what effect it would have on the plants. This thing is one of the bigger spiders I've seen, a few inches long! Yipes. At least she should keep bugs away:

Skunk #1 got murdered by some critter. Hopefully it grow back, it still has some foliage and I've been surprised by plants before. It had vigorous growth before this, so it bummed me out a bit:

Looking great bro! Plants look happy! The Diamond one is my favorite, reaching for the sky! Nice dude! I can clearly see the improvement since last years grow! I hope it rewards you nicely comes end of the season!

hey rosetta,
i heard about a great organic spray against critters eating your plants. it was a guy using it on his melons etc: pepper spray.
just take a hand full of the hottest chillies you can get and grind them up (best use an old grinder, which u dont wanna use for anything "not spicy" afterwards...) with a zip of water.
than fill this in your hand sprayer and add water. i have not tried it but i guess once the critter munched on ya plants and got a burned nose from it, it wont come back. hehe.
otherwise (sure u know already): sticks and fences work great, or just wait till the resin production is going on, than critters also dont like to munch on them...

i wish you strong trees!

spiders are good for you even if you don't like their scary looks

they eat other insects, not plants. in fact they eat insects who eat your plants so they are your allies!

Buddah Thanks bro! I think the Diamond is one of my favorites, too. She's definitely one of the bigger girls and she has a nice reek coming from her.

Eugen Thanks man. Loved the thread last year, grew some real beasts! I bought this hot sauce not too long ago. One drop makes a full meal spicy, and I can barely eat the stuff, so maybe I've found a use for it after all


NKOTS I was thinking the same thing, the plant was a decent size beforehand, and the root system was completely intact minus some minor digging. Fingers crossed she pulls through, it can be amazing to see what kind of stress they can overcome. I agree on the spider thing, the worst I've seen from them is binding up the tops of plants with webs. If they want to eat the things that want to eat my plants, then they're on my side.


LyryC Yeah it gave me chills when I realized it was there. It was hard not to think about more of them all over the vegetation that I had to go through afterwards. I feel like it's just like another little bit of security for the plant though.

Hello Icmaggers.

Things have not been going as well as I would have liked. The month of June was very rainy, 8 inches when we are used to 3-4. Almost all of the plants are showing over watering issues IMO. Yellowing of the lower leaves. May also be some nitrogen deficiency, but I only have liquid nutes, so I would be contributing to the soil never drying out Hoping for a dry fall so I can at least feed bloom nutes. We finally had a week of dry hot weather, but it looks like the next week is going to be rainy again. Still, at this point I should yield much better than last year, and there's a little more veg time yet.

Super Auto progressing, yield looks to be rather small, but I'm on a break until I harvest it, so with my lowered tolerance it should last me for a bit. A few orange hairs popping up. Looks frosty and dank, but without much smell. Leaves are yellowing pretty bad:

Jorge's diamond, still a bit of a web on her, but the spider is long gone. She is quite a bit taller than me now:

Skunk #1 here doing pretty well actually, dense growth, looks sativa leaning. Hoping for some super dank buds:

Skunk #1, I found her like a week ago wilted and looking close to death. Her stem had snapped at the base from the training. Luckily she seems to have pulled through and has resumed growing, although not as well as before:

Haven't visited spot 4 in awhile, not much I can really do for them anyway. Probably will check them within the next visit or 2, maybe they'll surprise me.

Just promix, a little compost and worm castings, mixed in with a little of the local soil. I'm just concerned about the yellowing is all.

Thanks for the tip, I will invest in some dry, slow release nutes next year if I have the time, so I don't have as many problems.

I chopped the auto. It's been hanging for a day or two, smells delicious, but yield is insignificant:

We're now having some real summer weather with mid to high 90's and no rain for a few more days. I managed to water in some Earth Juice Veg nutes, so it should help with the yellowing, the big girls really looked like they needed it. Also, I got a little topping of compost and old chicken shit onto the plants at spots 1 and 2. Skunk # 1 at spot 2 is officially dead, Cheese there was not looking so good either, droopy, but with the water I gave and some more mulch it should be okay. Checked spot 4 and deer had eaten this site, the White Widow is dead, but the Skunk #1 is regrowing some foliage and looks to be slowly recovering. I guess it's true what they say about the Widow attracting animals.

I didn't have the chance to bring my camera, it would have been too much of a pain in the ass to take pictures as well as lug water through the swamp in this heat. Very humid, and the sheer aggression of the insect life in the swamp is amazing. A swarm of flies and mosquitoes around your head as soon as you enter, mostly flies, but they bite worse than the mosquitoes. Hopefully this feeding will help everything out. New pictures and an update in a few weeks

Something dark brown on the inside of the stem, some sort of disease or something causing necrosis. I highly doubt she'll live very much longer.

So I'll be down to probably 5-6 flowering plants for this season if nothing else dies. I'm pretty disappointed and I wish I could have done more, but things really seemed to go wrong after a certain point. I guess that's the nature of outdoor, but with all the hardwork involved, I'm beginning to really prefer indoor.

Hey Rosetta been a while brother. Them white spots that look like powdery mildew are spider shit, my pa used to have a huge wolf spider in a aquarium and it's shit looked like that. I get it on my plants too but no worries it's just spider deuce

That cheese plant you cut the top off of, was there any really small bore holes in the stem anywhere just above or below it? There's a little caterpillar that bores in there and fucks shit up, I've only ever had 2 in 11 years of outdoor but they do show up...Little fuckers, if you catch it mush it between your fingers with furious anger until it is thoroughly puddin!!

Good growin brother, all this rain slowed things waaaaaay down this year so don't beat yourself up over it, make the most of the situation, get prepped for next season and keep on keepin on!

Remember, always plant more then you need or want cause you never know whats gonna happen!

Sorry about some of your plant troubles. When it comes to the powder mildew, that one pic does look like a pretty severe case of it. I have had pretty good luck with a milk:water dilution about 1:6 or so, used as a fine mist in a foliar spray to cover both sides of the leaves. Should stop the growth of what is there and prevent any further spreading. I'd also recommend removing any foliage that shows serious contamination of PM already.

If PM is a chronic problem on some plants then strategic defoliation is another solid strategy to improve light and air flow.

This is why I grow OD's in pots that can be moved. You would be surprised what 10 feet can make. Same strain 20 feet from my others got PM. Its like that OD's. Especially in or near a swamp.
You can position them better as the seasons change and overgrowth from native vegatation grows in. Plus if a spot you thought was good turns out it wasnt, you dont have to loose the girls or shock it by diggin it up to t/p it somewhere else.
And if worse comes to worse and their not done come frost season, you can finish them inside. I always try to grow in 5gln buckets, that are spray painted camo, so they are managable. You just never know what a spot holds till its tested and approved.
