Liquorice or anise smelling strains

Well there goes that theory ^^^OjoRojo and CannaExists just brought us some "new world" American sativas to the table as well.

It is looking like its more sativa based now perhaps based on every ones descriptions and strains. My leaves are very indica in veg but I know that can change. The internodal growth leaves much to be desired IMHO on these ladies but only time will tell.

Keep them coming y'all.

Nice thread, thanks very much raygun and to everyone else.

I must re-read the whole thread again over the next few days with a notepad and pencil to get all the details.

I want to try sort out the landraces from the hybrids, so if anyone's done that already, just chip in.

BTW, the anise in the DP is most-likely from India.

Till then, see you again later .....

Which Durban's are y'all growing to get the anise?
Because there are many Durb's on the market and not all have the anise smell..

currently growing some durban poison seeds from dutch passion, and some bangi haze from ace, looking for this smell/taste. My theory is that (hopefully) it will have a similar effect as the durban with that smell/taste from years back i been looking for.

Nice getmo good luck! I don't know how there isn't a fire Durban cut to be had. My favorite weed for sure was Durban. Tasted amazing

I gave the Dp from DP a shot. The single seed I had produced a plant that reeked of that anise smell. Really strange plant. Not the most potent, but just the way it looked, makes me wanna give it another shot. The calyx's were so huge, it made the buds look weird, but in a good way.

The zamal-hashplant I got from ace would be right up your alley. Hell of a nice buzz too. I only grew one seed so not sure how common this phenotype is.

Some plants of Greenhouse seeds' Exodus Cheese (UK Cheese S1 seeds) have floral - liquorish tones in the aroma. Out of a 10 pack at least 2 plants had these flavs.
I have found the same floral liquorish UK Cheese-trait also in Chunky Cheese (Cheese x Deep Chunk), so it is there, but not on all of the offspring of UK Cheese.

Chimera's Mental Floss is reported to have anise like flavor / aroma. Comes from a mystery mom though so can't help on origin!
