Plummeting Marijuana Prices for Growers

N

NorC@liGrower

That wasn't a marketing ploy bro, that is a fact. If you know you have the best and have the confidence to walk away from a low ball offer you never make it to the door.
Any one who has medicine in Ca. that demands that donation to cover their expenses doesn't need ploys.
Yeah well since BOG created that varietal he has access to a cut or cuts selected from popping a lot of beans and working with the genetics. Buy the beans yet you still have to look through them to find THAT keeper he is talking about. If you think EVERY Sour Bubble female is that righteous then dream on.

Also it has to do with how good the grower is . Same cut in different hands will produce a range of quality.

I really like E18 and just about everyone that got some liked it. Was one of those crowd favorites. It can easily pass for indoor. GREAT smell, solid high type/potency yet the flavor a bit bland. I didn't think is was AAA type stuff yet definitely stands above the crowd. It's a MONSTER yielder, very vigorous/hardy and super easy to trim. Attempting to remember what's in it and think Nepalese, Trainwreck and Green Crack. I used to get mine from the guy that created it. E stands for, well that's a secret of sorts, and the 18 I believe is it was #18 out of 100 beans he popped and grew.

Cool to see it getting a good review :)

If you're in that area and getting some E18 keep your eye out for Good Knight/Night which is a cross of Good Times(a select cut of Vanilla Kush) and Blue Knight/Night. Not many people holding it. AWESOME stuff! One day they'll release the cut right now it's VERY tightly held. When it first came out last harvest, or harvest before last as I've lost track, I couldn't even score an elbow as it was all presold for top dollar. I was comped an oz though and some of the better outdoor I've seen aside from the tried and true elite cuts. I think it was like $2400 right when stuff started to hit the market from the harvest.

Yeah I see the blue night a lot.. theres a club in berkeley that has a strain called midnight. its the blue night all day. Ive heard about the good night. have yet to see it though. prob change after this years pull.
think the E18 is green crack, blue dragon, purple nepal, trainwreck, and maybe something else. Im a spacecadet sometimes. crazy yielder for sure.

I think you're closer on the E18 genetics and probably it. Definitely NOT Blue Dragon and probably Blue Night cause I don't remember seeing or hearing about Blue Dragon in the hills where E18 hails from. Blue Dragon? Maybe Blue Dragon is the basis for Blue Night? Gawd Blue Dragon rings a bell. Still think it's Blue Night in E18 though. I really don't think there is 'something else' in that mix. So I'd think Green Crack, Trainwreck, Nepalese and Blue Night. BN can be some awesome stuff. Awful structure unless picked just right. Makes the absolute best hash I've ever come across. Bought a few elbows of BN sift and...smelled and tasted like heaven . Abja Roots here on IC got a few samples of the BN sift from me. Purple Nepal? Well at least we agree it was Nepalese and don't think Purple Nepal. I just remember Nepalese. Could have been purple though.

Good Night REALLY rocks and hopefully you come across some. An old friend of mine is brothers with the peeps that created it. Even he couldn't get a cut lol. I know the guys that created Good Night and dealt with them some. I gave Smoke Trees here on IC a sample of GN. The sample got beat up a bit. He still gave it a thumbs up and coming from Smoke Trees that's saying something.

Have you ever run across Good Times? If you have then we know at least know THAT circle.

Can't you smell the Trainwreck in E18?

When you meet the E18 guy then we've stomped the exact same dirt. If you know Mr. E18 then you just have to know the guys that created Good Night. We'll just call the ring leader the 'man' on the hill.

I kick it up around the area here and there.. my good friend worked for that crew for a few years.. I dont personally know the cats but my boy has forever.
definitely some awesome growers in this area.

Good Times was always at the high end of the price scale...at least that's what I found.

Disclaimer: I haven't dealt with canna on a wholesale level in almost a year. My prices are old and looks like they've come down...as I expected with the bumper crop last year. I think they've probably finally leveled off, or very close to that, even if we get another bumper crop this year. It all depends on Fall weather and rain/moisture.

getting to know the people at "lower altitudes" here and they have a nice community. ha.
blue nights been ragin for years down there.
Hey if you're in that area then look out for some Pineapple Trainwreck. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Originally I was told it was Shiva Skunk. Pretty sure it was PTW. One of the better varietals on the hill IMO. A little looser structure yet had the rest of the package. I never hesitated to pay up for that stuff. I think they just called it Pineapple Wreck. Definitely more top shelf than E18 and I preferred the smoke. E18 was easier to deal with in many ways. It shipped GREAT  and lovely looking nuggets. I was told the PTW also came from the same crew that created GN. Supposedly someone came through and snagged a few cuts 'without permission' from a field and it spread.

I used to hang in the Quincy area like in 2006. Really though just off the Feather River near Twain. Would go to Quincy for a night out on the town and Farmers Market.

good times is just green crack/ afwreck
its ok, but not deserving of the hype it gets. those guys on that hill think that shit is untouchable, just some decent kgb imo.

Problem with all the guys on that hill is there all stuck in guerrilla mentality...when they need to open the eyes and see what is really possible...

i saw pounds of garbage being praised as 'very good examples' of gt, blue knight, ect... thos euys think that shit is the best in the world and will try and fight you if you disagree....

i mean gc is great herb, i love it, but its not the best of the best....ask the buyers lol

Good Times is a select cut of Vanilla Kush. At least that's what I was told and sure looked like the pictures of it I've seen online and sure smelled like vanilla. I didn't get any GC or Afwreck type smells at all. I also don't think it's as good as they make it out to be yet still very good bud and better than a lot of other stuff I've seen from around there. The Good Night really stands out. If you can get your hands on that I think you'll be very pleased. does seem to be the best of both varietals. I agree with the guerrilla mentality thing. Most of the gardens I saw looked pretty pathetic. I had to pick through a lot of stuff, typically around the same price, to find something worth what they were asking. A lot of garbage. Mendo was a different story. Just about everybody I ran across seemed to be on their game and the price wasn't that much higher once the market settled down. Really was like night and day between the two areas.

C'mon...duhhh! Post 289 by BOG talking about him getting $480 a zip for HIS Sour Bubble almost like ALL SB is that good. Get real. The response you quoted of mine was in response to your post #291. Sure sounded like marketing to me. How I feel, and actually only a hypothesis (educated guess), is that the SB cut Bog grows is only in his hands.

Prices are $1600 - $2800 unit depending on quality in nor cal. If you have your med card.
So when you're talking a 'med card' are you talking getting elbows at that price from a club? I haven't had my card in over 5 years and haven't been in a club since about 2005 when I went into Berkeley Patients Group.

No clubs would sell a unit in the first place. The prices are if you can find a grower like on Craigslist. That also would be indoor prices. I currently pay $2000 a unit but have been paying $2400. I see people still pushing last years outdoor for over $100 a ounce.

Its really nice to see people from all ends of the world participating in this discussion. I am not going to pretend to know what will happen next (price wise) but I do know that there will always be a niche for the ppl who spend time effort and love of this plant. Maybe big buisness gets in and drops prices dramatically maybe they dont....but one thing is for sure.......With all the strains and genetics out there.......IMHO there is a lot of things going to be left to the small time mom and pop operations....If big buisness comes...I can assure you that A LOT of these genetics will be protected......just my :2cents: Thanks PAL

Why do most people grow Cannabis?
Is it for smoke or profit?
If it is for smoke then you do not care what the prices are.
If it is for profit then of course the price matters to you.
Here on IC we see a lot of people that love Cannabis.
But there are just as many growers out there that love the profit more.
As well as people that love Cannabis and need the profit.
One thing is for sure, prices will continue to fall, and when Big Biz Agriculture gets involved the prices will fall through the floor.
Lets be honest why are people who do not love Cannabis growing? Because it is easy to make a profit, that basically means Cannabis is over priced due to the legal situation, make it really legal and the price will drop to the floor more in line with other agricultural commodities where you can make a living if you work hard all year round.
It is gonna come I can see it as clear as daylight.
It is funny how consumers don't seem to see the big price drops, Marijuana osmosis seems to take all the Cannabis to where it will be needed the most at the highest price, the growers and wholesales are being squeezed on prices but few consumers get to see cheaper prices it seems.
I guess if you have friends that are growers then prices have dropped to you.
When people talk about genetics will be protected look at viniculture how many different wine grape clones are grown worldwide? Millions, thousands, hundreds, less then 100?
5,000 but less then 100 produce most of the worlds wines.
These vines are produced as virus free rootstock to be distributed to growers.
We still have a long way to go to bring Cannabis into the modern world, but it will change fast.
I predict that within a few years virus free elite Cannabis clones will be sold to plant out for the crops to be grown and harvested. Just like with viniculture.
