If you ACTUALLY WATCH the Silva video, you can clearly see that there is no spitting whatsoever....

It doesn't even look like it would be possible to spit with the way his mouth is OPEN.

Weirdos.

Silva just bowed instead of touching gloves. When he bowed, he kept his eyes on Weidman's face, so maybe thats why people think he spit or tried to kiss his glove, because he bowed with his head up.

Any questions?

I know she was bowing out of respect. LOL!!!

opening quote from the first pic in the first row sums it up, do you even roll bro?

imagine this

Liz Carmouche had a neck crank on Ronda Rousey so tight, it left bite marks.

that is the quote that opens the article

so imagine someone is on your back, they grab you around the neck and head and crank

now imagine when they do this you are trying to breathe, as any human would at least try and do. Now imagine they crank down on it harder, when your mouth is open, trying to get air. The pressure created closes your jaw, making you close your mouth, when this person's arm is in your mouth.

people do bite in grappling matches, but most often it involves a choke and an open mouth.

my brother is a Gracie BB and teaches in the Bay area, I been choked out enough to understand

you can clearly see Rhonda is surprised, like really surprised, not faking it

still can't wait to see Anderson FIGHT again, a fight where he is scared would be awesome, him vs JJ has to happen

lil bit of the ol black on black crime Rampage style

Isn't it on a Bruce Lee movie, when he says you keep your eyes on your opponent when you bow?

I can't remember?

This is from BJPenn's site, but I saw this on mixedmartialarts.com first. This is Renzo Gracie's view of the AS fight.

Renzo Gracie: Weidman Was Fading, Silva Clowned Too Much

This kid [Weidman] is very dangerous, he was always very dangerous. Every time he fights, he wins. Early in the bout, when Chris was in control, he did everything he wanted, but couldn’t win, so Anderson gained great confidence. He thought it would be a walk in the park and then he began to play. And the boy [Weidman] really was fading, he was tired because he did everything (pushing the pace) during the first round. He had side control, he was attacking… and when Anderson saw him fading, he thought: “Now I’m gonna give a show”. The problem is that this sport is not the place for that. In this sport you have to win.

I’m sure the people who were in his corner said: “Go out there and win”, but he decided to do what was on his mind, he was joking, shaking … And if you notice, this kid has a very big star (luck). Whenever he is in trouble, he manages to win. When he attacked, Anderson lost his balance when he was mocking him, and had no way to defend himself. And then he got caught with a punch to the chin. And when that happens there’s no way out, you go to sleep, your brain turns off.

“The longer the fight, the worst it would be to Chris, I was seeing it. He began to fade, but Anderson didn’t manage to take [the fight] seriously. He began to mock Chris. It was over the top (exaggerated), because you can’t belittle your opponent. If you’re confident enough to do this kind of thing, go and finish the fight. Go for the KO or for the submission. You just can’t stand there dancing and not go for the win. Are you gonna stay there to give a show to others?”

“I was [there] in the fight against Demian. Anderson’s behavior in this fight (against Weidman) was worse. It was more aggressive and more insulting than on that occasion. The words he was using … It was insulting … And this is something he shouldn’t do.

He is the champion, he is an example in the sport. He has a fantastic history as UFC fighter and should be respectful and act in a proper manner.
I gave an interview before the fight telling him to change his ways, but it didn’t happen. Unfortunately, it’s stuck in his soul and it comes out from there, right? And that’s what caused his defeat today (it costed his victory).

“No doubt it affects you mentally. You’re trying to fight, to attack the guy and he is dancing, he isn’t keeping his hands high, he lets you hit his face… that’s a thing that really breaks you mentally. Chris had a break of pace, but not because of the way Anderson was fighting, but because he got tired, he was pushing the pace during the entire first round. And when you start like that, you need to slow down or the train derails”.

“Anderson is a great champion, all he has to do is put his head in the right place and remember when he was a kid who was working hard in order to get where he is now, and be that boy again. When you begin to lose sight of who you are, you start to fall into traps like this. Life comes to collect”.

Renzo should be a Yahoo writer. He is that bad. LOL! This is not how the fight went and Weidman was not fading. WTF!!!!

Silva was not goofing around when the fight started. Weidman was winning the stand up battle in the beginning even though it only lasted a little while because Weidman realized that when they were seriously fighting and Silva had his hands up he could get the takedown easily. He did just that, took him down and did a very good job of ground and pound.

In those few minutes on the ground Silva took some fairly heavy damage. More in those brief moments than he had in 5 rounds of pitter patter from Sonnen. More damage than he has taken any of his other UFC matches. He was desperate and did a risky scramble to get on his feet and almost got caught in a submission. But he did get up when Weidman let go of his leg.

Silva was totally aware that he couldn't allow any more takedowns. So he dropped his hands and defended the takedown while trying to get Weidman to get to aggressive and knock him out with his feet or a knee. Weidman didn't take the bait and just took what was given, the occasional punch to Silva's face or head. Weidman even though not scoring alot was the only one scoring. Silva missed with everything.

Realizing he was being outscored Silva stated goofing around and waiving his arms for Weidman to come and fight even though Silva was the one back peddling and goofing off hoping for a lucky opening.

I could not believe how during the final moments of the first round Silva was waiving his arms motioning for Weidman to engage him at come at him like Weidman was the one avoiding contact.

Then when the round ended Silva ran after Weidman and tried to hug him or whatever, like way to fight kid, then kissed him on the cheek.

The second round Silva was goofing off to save himself the agony of getting his ass kicked. But during all the running and goofing off the only one scoring any points with punches or kicks was Weidman. Not much but he was the only one. Silva was still missing with every punch and almost every kick.

The end came when Silva got caught with a left hand and then pretended to be weak kneed and staggered. He did this to hide the fact he was hurt somewhat and it was a good clean shot. Then he started leaning back moving to his right and there was Weidman's left hook waiting for him. His eyes rolled up in his head at that time and was knocked out while falling down. He got clobbered 4 more times or so. The last one or two actually woke him up a little so he could started grabbing the refs legs. If Weidman had just let him fall and only hit him once more Silva would have been laying there knocked out cold and not moving at all.

I can't believe Renzo calls Weidman lucky. He is 10-0. He beat the crap out of Maia, knocked out Munoz and Silva and submitted Lawlor.

You know what else he did. Something he doesn't get credit for or people don't know? He absolutely beat the crap out of and then knocked out in the first round the newest biggest thing in mma. The person everyone said goofed off in his latest loss. The person everybody said/says could give Silva a good fight. Uriah Hall. Hall got crushed by Weidman. Crushed!!!!

It was Hall's 5th fight and Weidman's 3rd fight. The very next fight Hall lost a close decision to Costas Philippou. Everybody has Philippou ranked real high and thinking he is top tier. Yet he eeked out a decision in the fight after Weidman totally destroyed Hall in less than 1 round. HMMM......... Weidman is not lucky. He doesn't let it up to the judges.

What does he have to do to get respect? He is better than Silva. He is better than the whole division.

Weidman is going to be champion for a long, long time.

Considering Renzo actually trains Weidman, I'd think he has a bit more insight about it than you, no?

Weidman fights out of Serra Longo fight team. He wasn't trained by Renzo. He has trained with him but Renzo has his own school in NY. Renzo is much closer to Silva.

This article was written in defense of Silva. They are not favorable comments to Weidman, He calls Weidman lucky even before this fight.

I don't need someone to tell me when someone is fading. I can see for myself. Nobody has mentioned Weidman was fading until these comments by Gracie. A Brazilian. An their Brazilian champion got KTFO by our new American champion Chris Weidman. And know the excuses come flowing out.

Anderson was goofing off. Anderson didn't try. Weidman got lucky. Weidman was fading.

Sniff, sniff away crybabies.

Weidman will be champion for a long, long time so you might as well get used to it. He will give Silva another clobbering and then beat the snot out of the juicer Belfort.

Then we will have to wait for somebody else to come along to beat him because there is nobody there now. Munoz was owned and can never close the gap. He got mauled. Totally mauled. He was in shape, next in line for a title shot. He got mauled. Now he is too old. He is not better. He will be mauled again.

Weidman is the champion. Long live the champion.

There's always a badder cat in the jungle, so don't count on Weidman being champion for long. Silva will knock him out in the rematch, IMO.

Bro, sounds like you have a man crush on Weidman. I like the guy, but your characterization of his ground & pound as hurting Silva, and the phantom punch when Silva was clowning afterwards as if he was hurt is way off base, IMO. He wasn't hurt at all until that one lucky punch. That's how Silva fights. He allows the other guy to open up. He rolls with the punches and he waits until he has found his opponents range and then he retaliates. Only this time, he screwed up. He miscalculated and got caught and the fight was over.
He won't make that same mistake in the rematch.

So Renzo trained him but at the same time didn't train him? Munoz was in shape when he fought Weidman? Munoz is too old now even though that first fight was only exactly one year ago? You don't need someone to tell you Weidman was fading because you can see for yourself... like Silva spitting on CW and Rousey biting her opponent? Do you have an HD TV? I don't think you watch the same fights that the rest of us do.

I don't have a favorite fighter. I was just amping up my support of Weidman because there are too many Silva fanatics watching fights with homer glasses.

I can see the spit fly out of Silva's mouth.

What about the end of the 1st round kiss Silva gave Weidman? Did you see that?

At 6:09 the bite happens. I will concede the tap.
