I blast directly into a glass cake pan. When i'm done blasting i purge using a hot water bath via a larger cake pan filled with hot water. Just recently when i bring my cake pan inside, i have been running a hair dryer under the pan to purge residual butane left in the oil. Then i scrape then pan, to get all the oil in my glass ashtray. I then do multiple vac purges with my little $20 food saver from walmart. That's my process, works like a charm every time.

i just purchased a handheld vacuum sealer that can be used with bags, or has been used by customers in the reviews i read with a mason jar replacement vacuum sealing lid.

is this something similar to what you are doing. and will my idea work?

anyone try it yet? How much were you able to pack in?

I've been packing about 10-12 gr in a sstb, curious if I'm under packing?

Want to make sure I'm packing right before moving to the bigger tube.

i just ordered a glass extraction tube.

i'm new to this. how tightly must you pack the tube? can you leave airspace at the top if you only wanna make a small run?

About 4.2 grams of bud per cubic inch. What size is your tube?

No air space. Fill the space with wadded coffee filters, if you don't have enough plant material.

the tube i bought actually says on the side, 'pack lightly'

anyway, it's supposed to be a 7 gram tube, but a customer review says it holds more like 12 grams.

so i can use a coffee filter or two to fill in space? doesn't look like i will need that with this small tube, but it's good info to have.

do the filters go at the top or bottom of the tube if not full with green...?

What is everyones highest percentage return fron running nugs?

Just did a batch of deathstar. Used 30 grams of nugs. Final return was right at 8.4 grams.

That is 28% return. I have never run anything that gave that high of a return.

The previous best i ever had was from OG nugs that gave 25%.

300 grams of trim 73 grams oil and i didnt run the material until it was clear. Certainly still more in the column but I was being lazy. I have yet to run just head stash quality nuggets, Im sure the numbers will go up. I used to use tubes but never got that kind of return until I got a hold of the MKIII.

I put one on top of the charge to diffuse the butane and prevent material from blowing back if I release the pressure. We run them both top and bottom in Terpenators.

24.3% is a respectable yield. Good job!

Our record on bud is just over 28% and lowest is 5.8%.

We average around 20% on our high THC strains, but closer to 18% on our two high CBD ones.

Specialized Formulations uses Terpenators in their extraction business and usually extracts enough extra oil, that the customers would end up making money or getting their extraction free, if they were selling their products at dispensary prices.

Lowest percentage flower that i have run was Jedi at 10%. Going to make a run of golden goat nug oil and cotton candy nug oil. Will get back with the percentages on those two strains. Have more deathstar nugs to blast too.
