Just wondering how all ya'll out there who grow in pots with no drainage holes do your final flush? I was just going to give 3 weeks of plain water instead of only 2 weeks.... Any thoughts...

I grow in organic soil, & wouldn't dream of doing it in pots or beds w/o drainage.

Although my experience is limited, I think flushing w/ organic soil is highly over-rated if you lay off the nutes late in flowering. Experimenting with my last batch, I flushed half & not the other. There was no discernible difference in taste or high. YMMV, of course.

drill holes in your pots....
Thanks mate.... If that was an option i wouldn't have bothered asking the question

Interesting... Normally i would be of the same opinion about the drainage holes but this is my first grow without them and they're my best looking plants to date..... Thanks

It may be entirely possible to do well w/o drainage holes, dunno. Sometime around 1972, I killed off my first indoor grow by over watering in pots w/o drainage. Back then, I went to conventional pots w/ holes, did well for several years.

It's a long story, but I've only recently returned to growing & toking after many years away from the scene. I just went with what I knew would work, what would give me a wide margin of error, and good drainage is part of that. It's the easy answer.

I know what you mean jhhnn i wiped out my first crop by overwatering and they had drainage so i've become very cautious of repeating the same mistake... I think next round i 'll make drainage holes and then run a second bucket underneath with a small amount of perlite.

i know many of grower that uses chem ferts and soil beds without drainage... they "flush" via only feeding water for the last 2 weeks and have the plant use rest of nutes and slowy turn yellow like regular potted plants.

the term "flush" is over used... just stop feeding them at the appropriate time and it will be fine.

Ive grow in beds of peat and perlite with organics as well as chems . the chem beds will burn clean with 2-3 weeks of straight 5.9 ph water allowing them to dry out well between waterings .

The organics get straight water from the tap left to sit in the open room for 12-24 hr with an air stone in it . . The organic beds get top dressed with bat guano lime and earth worm castings . Then i mix up a watering of molasses to feed the mycros in the soil once a week . My plants never been so happy .

I use 1.2 Ec and just run straight water for two Weeks. Flushing is for peeps that like to spend to much on nutes. If your worried run a flushing agent for last week, the Advanced one kills the roots so you know it ain't taking anything up.
