I feel that the bud is at it's best after 3 to 4 months of curing. This is just my opinion.

I would agree. After 3-4 months, the curing slows a lot. I was vaping SSH that was jar cured for a year and it seemed the same as the SSH that was cured for 6 months.

i have a drying experience/confession that may be of interest
the humdity in the northeast usa has been off the charts for the last 2 weeks or so
80%+ almost all the time, and plenty of 90%+ periods
i just did my normal drying routine, bud just spread out, this humidity took me by suprise
but the bud has survived, no mold visible after 2 weeks, was i lucky?

my area is very arid so we keep an eye on things and luckily it does help with the drying time so that it goes into jars sooner then later.
good tips for all regardless of experience

anyone out there that's worrying about the difference between the relative humidity inside the container and your atmospheric rh try using a desiccant. this will draw the moisture out of your container rather quickly. it's nontoxic and has no smell. the price is dirt cheap. you can pick it up at hunting and survival stores. also once it's saturated put it in the oven, dry it out and your good to go again. it comes in all different sizes from little pills and packets to small boxes. you just need to watch the rh in the jar closely so you don't go to far and leave it inside the packet. don't open it up and use the granules.

About 5x doing this method, and its great, ordered about 6 more of these meters..

Any Suggestions on a large sealed container? i have my eyes on a Ice Cooler ( kind for camping ) - But it does suck having about 20 Gallon Jars, and 5 Meters, haha!.

Last 2 times I used a large tote in a giant plastic bag. I had 1 hygrometer and a small fan circulating air. This was a proof-of-concept sorta thing. It works very well.

I only used it to bring the whole harvest down to ~69% (1 week), then I jar to slow the process down.

I plan to mount a drying cabinet on the wall. Open the door and there's bud hanging, like in a kitchen cabinet, maybe. Sealed with a fan and hygrometer. I have equipment to automate this if I choose. When Rh gets too high, valves open to exchange the air sorta thing.

+1 on the Cabinet, i was thinking of this aswell.

So you have a Giant rubbermaid with a trash bag in it, and just throw the top on the rubbermaid ? Doesnt sound like it would seal, why use the trashbag again ?

----

Ugh, i think i had it backwards, Bag > Rubber Maid > Product, Close bag up with a tie? .. Sealed?

edit: Out of curiosity, how many inches do you think you let the container get full ? Not sure id go past around 3-5", i try to rotate buds manually every 6-10 hours

You have it right. Big tote inside the 55 gallon 3 mil trash bag. Again, just a test. I ran wires to hang the bud. I'd never stack or pile it up, personally. And the small fan blowing.

As a side note, you could continue to use the cabinet even after the drop below 70% instead of jarring. If you could monopolize the cabinet for weeks on end.

I have no idea why you guys are spending so much money on meters and worrying about room conditions. Just buy a Cvault or another make of herb humidor.

... those cvaults appear to be pretty pricey. Where's the savings? Also, I'd trust a calibrated instrument(s) rather than a Boveda bag. I've used them before, also.

Had anyone here used the 62% rh Boveda packs alone for curing (same as the ones in those pricy cvaults)? Looking at this product on their website, it appears they were specifically meant for curing cannabis. Sorry in advance if this has already been brought up, have not read this whole thread.
