How to contact Equipment manufacture?

I have read about people around here saying they have got in contact with some equipment manufacturer's but I can't seem to find an email for any companies... I am trying to get in contact with Vortex and I was curious about speaking to Quantum but it doesn't really matter now...

So does anyone know how to find the email for some of these companies? Did you email the retailer for the manufacturer's E-mail?

Thanks and maybe someone here can answer without me emailing Vortex... Are there ANY speed controller's that work with Vortex fan's? I have heard the "speedster" and "router" speed controller's should not be used... pretty much all controller's mess with the fan's input/output and fucks up the motor...

Hit up the wholesalers of the products, and they can get you the direct contact info. Sunlight Supply, and Hydrofarm cover most everything.

I have limited info on contacting manufacturer's i usually meet people at trade shows and get cards and stuff. But this might be of interest to you, step by step how to dyi speed controller for vortex fan as well as a simple explanation of why one shouldn't use a normal variable resistor or rheostat like the "speedster"-

(edit: that diy link is only good for 600 watts, but i remember finding this (15 amp fan controller) and bookmarking it once. not diy, they did it for you, but from what i understand it should work just fine - http://www.amazon.com/Hunter-Company-22394-Multiple-Control/dp/B001YHWBFA#productDetails)

thanks that is pretty cool. I am going to ask some electrician's advice on how to go about "speed controlling" the fan...

Been using cheap speedsters on my two vortex 6"'s for years now. They work fine.

Edit: Just googled the maker of vortex, Atmosphere Inc. Clicked on contact and low and behold there was their phone number.

1 800 489-1301

Of course I didn't call them cause I don't have a question.

Usually if you just go to a manufactures website and click "contact" it will get you a phone number.

I too have been using speedsters for years on my 6 in Vortex fans.

Didn't know I shouldn't be doing that.

"as well as a simple explanation of why one shouldn't use a normal variable resistor or rheostat like the "speedster"

Followed the link and didn't find anything about not using speedsters and the like. It gave an explanation for not using light dimmers. I read something similar a while back that said speedsters and other speed controllers were what should be used for centrifugal fans. -granger

Ok well like a member by the name of Greenheart on here told me... Vortex reccomends the Dial A Temp for their fans. Hopefully this thread can be laid to rest now...

For anyone interested, As Third Coast said Atmosphere Inc. is the maker of Vortex. They said using the wrong speed controller will void your warranty. They only reccomend speed controllers from KB electronics.
