:) i told you man, you're gonna have a monster there
or two in fact.!

btw do you notice any differences in growth of the PE in soil vs. coco? do you feed the latter?

you really deserve congrats as flowering cuttings are much harder to root, well done! what was the success rate? How many died before these 2 made it?

excellent LST, as mentioned above :good:

keep up the good work, buddy

PS i wish i could help with HPS but i am ignorant rabbit here. dig through the Lighting section of the forum though, lots of knowledge there.

oh and worry not about those little spots on lower leaves, the plants look very happy to me!

Hey there NKOTS:thank you: I am finding that the P.E in coco is growing at a much faster rate, however a lot more fucking around with the PH checking and PPM checking too. As you can tell im still havin a bit of trouble dialing it in, the P.E in coco is too light a green for my liking. The P.E in soil is a lot easier to take care of but is growing about 1/3 less the rate of the other P.E.

Thanks for your comment on the LST, it is the only plant i LST'd lets hope it keeps up with the others.

So it's official. The plants are now in the begining stages of flowering. 12/12 as of tonight. I will be continuing the veg stage of cana coco nutes for the first week of flowering. Then i'm going to switch to the cana coco bloom nutes. Wish me luck!

Oh and if anybody has any input as to why my P.E in coco is getting some light green in the new growth please chime in. I have lowered the nutes and given a weak foliar spray of magnesium. It's only the new growth thats light green/yellow so it is most probably nutrient burn. All the others seem fine though, which is what has me thinking it could be something more serious. Runoff PH is 6.3 and PPM is 1.1 as of tonight.

if you suspect nute burn then you can quickly flush the coco with plain water and see what happens? pure water can do no harm, eh?

i am interested in your Asahi bottle there  how did you make a whole in the glass to stick your pipe in?

K

kiwi_growa

I would flush it, and thought about flushing it. However i don't think it is severe enough to warrant a flush. I think if i lower the PPM it should come right without too much stress.

The Asahi bottle i got from a store. So can't answer that question for ya. My mate dropped it the other day, now there is a huge crack down the back. No biggie though, i was due a new bong anyway.

If the problem looks worse on that P.E tomorrow then i'll go ahead and flush.

yeah, sounds reasonable. what guide do you use as PPM reference? and what is the measure of your water? you only mentioned run-off level f i am not mistaken?

K

kiwi_growa

I usually go by this :
Seedlings, Early Sprouts 100 to 250

Early Vegging 300 to 400

Full Vegetation 450 to 700

Early Blooming 750 to 950

Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600.

But with all strains it differs, I started of weak with all of them and have slowly raised it to get desired results. I managed to achieve this with the P.K and B.W and also the P.E in soil, but not so with the coco. The coco had a runoff of 3.0 when i first poured water through it! I flushed the shit out of all the coco, Maybe there are lingering nutes? Who knows.:tumbleweed:
I might have to change the rate at which im feeding the nutes to the coco girls. At the moment i go 1 day nutes 1 day water..and so on. I usually just give water in the weekends aswell. I've found that works in the past. But this coco is different to what i've grown with in the past so im going to start treating it differently. Any input on this would be grand.:joint:

whoops forgot the mention measure of water, I usually go for 20-30% run off.

Lol, yeah i do. As mentioned in the post above yours "I usually go for 20-30% run off." That's not something i'd forget, but thanks for throwing that out there though. I always ensure i have drainage holes to avoid salt build up, nutrient build up and also avoid suffocating the roots.

oh yeah sorry I replied after reading an earlier post... I grow in coc but I don't bother with runoff its a waste of good nutrients! instead I water with ph water once or twice a week. I think im one of the few here though.

Time for an update. Week 1 of Flowering.

First up Black Widow

Here's the branchy Pineapple express in Coco.

Thanks bro! I love the P.E in soil especially, she has taken well to the LST job i did last week. :dance013:

I know it is way too early to be guessing, but anybody want to take a guess as to what i might yield from all these girls? They're under a 400watt HPS. I am aiming for around 1 oz per plant. Would love to hear what you guys have to say!

i will update again in a weeks time.

uhmm hard to say. i am sure the PE will yield much more than the rest of your crew.

i am generally thinking that what is important = being able to grow enough for own needs.
i personally don't care too much about the yield. i just wanna grow good smoke, and enough of it :)

but knowing how many plants you got under that 400-watter i would tend to guess it should bring you enough smoke for quite some time, buddy

(depending on your smoking habbits though....)

K

kiwi_growa

Yeah, as long as i have enough smoke to last me til the next harvest i'll be happy NKOTS:) Thanks for droppin by man.

I have a problem on my hands - Winged Root Aphids.:O I am going to apply some neem oil solution to the roots. I'll post a pic of one of the bastards once my camera has charged.

Btw NKOTS, i smoke about 1-2 grams a day. I only smoke in the evenings because my job is way too demanding to be doing stoned:p

EDIT : After reading this thread https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=159960 i have decided to throw away the lot if the neem oil doesn't kill them. Sounds like it won't, but i'm not quite ready to give up. The infestation doesn't seem extreme, but i feel if i left it just a week longer it will be too far gone to treat. I first spotted the bastards on the HPS bulb when i turned it off, counted 3 on there. I inspected the soil but couldn't see any and i can't see any sign of them on the containers that the plants are in which are translucent. Roots appear healthy.

K

kiwi_growa

Thanks cheesebuds! 'Tis a shame about the root aphids though.

Upon closer inspection the 2 plants in coco are FUCKED there's hundreds of the little fuckers in there:(. I tossed em. The girls in soil aren't looking infested at all? Couldn't find a single one in the soil. But the coco is just teaming with them. This is my fault, i should have inspected the roots before flipping...DOH! FUUUCK! these bastards are a growers worst nightmare. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Those Root Aphids have a tight grip on my balls right now and won't let go until i thow everything out sterilize everything and start over.

O

OKD

F*(&^%ing evil bugs! I haven't encountered those fellers yet but I'm sure I will! I'm bracing myself for a plague of grasshoppers this summer.
Sorry I'm late, KG, just caught up and surely admire your passion and your past setups :)tiphat: suitcase grow).
Now get those bastards by THEIR balls!

K

kiwi_growa

Hiya OKD, thanks for the comment. Yeah bugs are a pain in the ass! i think i have them relatively under control now though. I hope the grasshopers leave you alone man!

Here's a pic of the Power Kush today(week 2 of flower). Not the best photo, i'll try get more later on.
